"Gems for Friends," "Premium Days," and "Mystery Boxes"

Dear Settlers,

Please read the following information about important changes that will come with the next version on October 3rd.

Premium Items

All premium items will be un-tradable with the next version, because of balancing and technical restrictions.

Players who wish to trade these should do so before the next version goes live.
We might consider turning this on again at a later stage, but currently this is not the plan for this year.

Gems for Friends

The "Gems for Friends" offer will be removed, because of trade fraud.
Again, we want to remind all players to use the safe trading function of the game only.

Some users have been taken in by unfrank players who offered gift gems based on personal agreement, but never delivered it after they received what they requested (e.g. resources). A gift is not meant to be part of trading. Personal agreements can always be risky. A couple of unfair people who misused the good faith of players on purpose have already been banned.

Although our Game Masters have been taking care and checked fraud reports from the community, we see that this is a problematic situation and therefore decided to deactivate the "gems for friends" item. We will consider reintroducing it for special events when we have implemented a technical solution to fix this.

Mystery Boxes

Nearly all mystery box items will be removed from the shop in order to rework the items.
Items that won't be offered anymore until further notice:

• Normal Resource Box
• Luxury Resource Box
• Mysterious Resource Box
• Mysterious Decoration Box

What remains is the "Mysterious Adventure Box".

Some community members asked whether it will be possible to donate Premium days after the trade option is deactivated.

Removal of Premium Day Donations
The possibility to gift premium days will be removed with the Halloween Event version on October 10th October 17th.
The gifting deactivation didn't make it into the next game version.
As previously mentioned, the trade option will no longer be available 1 version earlier (October 3rd).

This decision was made for reasons similar to why the "Gems for Friends" option is being removed.

If you want to donate premium days to friends, please do so until the version deployment on October 10th October 17th.
If dishonest players make fraudulent offers, please contact Customer Support so our Game Masters may investigate.

The date for the version with the changes to "Gems for Friends," "Premium Days," and "Mystery Boxes" was changed earlier today to October 10th. However, in order to stay on schedule and avoid confusion, we have decided to still deploy these changes in this week's maintenance on October 3rd. The Halloween Event will still be deployed on October 10th October 17th as previously scheduled. Thank you for your understanding.

UPDATE: I've added a schedule so the dates are less confusing. Please accept our apologies for any recent confusion with regards to the dates for upcoming changes.
