The Night Before Christmas (TSO Version)
A few guild mates have suggested I post this, but I'm not sure to where. So, I'm starting here. I hope you enjoy, with apologies to Clement Moore ...
T’was the night before Christmas, and all through the land,
All the Settlers were busy, keeping up with demand.
They build farms to make wheat, and mills to make flour,
All carefully placed to get the most in each hour.
They dig their mines deep to find platinum ore,
Iron and copper, coal and much more!
They hew marble and stone, and make tools for construction,
Smelters and smiths to make swords of destruction.
Trees in the forest are cut down to make bows,
Cutters and sawmills, all neatly in rows.
Hardwood and pinewood they turn into planks,
And train troops in their barracks to fill in the ranks.
They have gold to make coins, and wells to fetch water
But why only men? No one had a daughter?
They make thousands of items to keep in their store
But how much is enough? They always want more.
To attract population their bakers make bread,
They use sausage and fish to keep everyone fed.
To keep everything buffed, Irma’s Feasts they must make,
Or if the hunters are plenty, then maybe a steak!
They send troops on adventures, returning with loot,
Guides carefully followed that show the best route.
Recruits do the fighting, and cavalry too,
None can walk a straight line, it must be the brew.
To search for their presents, they send Scouts to explore
And then once each day they can open a door.
Behind them are goodies, or maybe a quest
But the doors that bring presents are the ones I like best.
So it’s back to my Island to see how it’s going,
My buildings are buffed, my population is growing.
And one thing’s for sure, of this there’s no doubt,
I’d upgrade it all if I had enough grout.
