Hello, and welcome to the great nation of Generica! This audio tour of our great land will be narrated by Ju-dee, we hope you enjoy your stay!

The story of Generica begins with a humble act of god, where a large building capable of holding several hundred various materials fell from the sky, along with plenty of resource to start a mighty empire. In just a short time, Generica has expanded to almost four times its original size. Here we have the map as it stands today:

Of course, most of Generica's industry rests in its historic Old Town. This started with just a few loggers, followed by multitudes of hippies whom are locked in a constant battle with the logging industry over various environmental issues. Thankfully these fine planters have created some sort of super-fertilizer which allows trees to grow back at alarming rates, offsetting the damage done by the loggers! It's science just fantastic?
Masons moved in just a bit later on, and that opened up a slew of other industries. As you will see on the map below, this allowed Generica's industrial district to spring up and start producing at booming rates. With the surplus of materials, more and more immigrants flowed into Old Town, and after massive protests at the Mayor's Hall, residences were finally constructed! There is still some contraversy over the neighborhoods these residences are located in, there was a copper smelter built in the north which drove housing value way down, and there's much debate over placing a tavern, a brewery, and a barracks next to the southern neighborhood.

Fun Fact: Due to overfishing, the waters around Old Town are completely devoid of life!

As Generica expanded, geologists surveyed the surrounding mountains and turned up copper! Wow! This precious material has resulted in a booming weapons market, and the creation of Generica's Army, the Red Noses! There have been rumors that the training regiment involves walking around in a drunken stupor and breaking multiple weapons, but these are just silly rumors no one really believe. The Red Noses have cleared out many bandit camps in the region, making life safe for all Genericans!
The Farmers Union of Generica decided Old Town was too polluted to be able to farm properly, and received a grant from the Mayor's House to set up shop. This led to the creation of Generica's first and only bakery, a welcome addition as the population was getting somewhat tired of eating fish for their entire life. The local population has taken to calling the area Farmville, though the government went back on their word and plopped down another weaponsmith in this region, which has led to much rife in the city council. And, just recently, more sophisticated loggers have moved in to the northern region, followed by a legion of even more sophisticated hippies.

Fun Fact: Generica's geologist is currently being flogged for only finding iron deposits in the most inconvenient locations!

In the first of the two sectors the Red Noses cleared of bandits, Generica's millers found some sort of portal which allowed logs to be teleported from one storehouse to another, no matter the distance (Generica's greatest scientists are looking into this phenomenon, but are currently completely baffled as to how this occurs). So far only sawmills have popped up in this wilderness, but they've been the backbone of the more advanced buildings currently being built in Generica!

Fun Fact: There are currently no plans to expand in this area as Genericans have only learned to kill other humans, and not animals!

And, as we come to the end of our tour, we arrive at Generica's newest sector. A burgeoning marble industry has sprung up in this area, and there have been reports of woodcutters whom are able to walk and cut down trees on water have been spotted here. Let's hope the hippies that followed them helped out with that ability!

Fun Fact: Taking refuge in this sector is one of Generica's last fishermen, currently on the run from the law for not following permit regulations!

mine is one big hot mess...

My is very efficient, every inch of land is used, surplus in most productions, no idle buildings, no idle settlers (the number settlers on top is waiting to recruit after battle, in fact I am in short of settlers for bigger army.)

The map you see is vision of growth, actually still in working progress, there are some buildings need to be re-arranged. The empty slots are reserved for up coming buildings.

-with the middle being important buildings like barracks and tavern and guild hall and such
- and to the rightmost is bow production and some more wood (these will most likely be moved up north)

Well there you have it. I think this is a near-perfect max-production setup and pretty to boot. Cant wait for the roads to improve at lvl 20.

Granted I've only played this game for a day and a half and am only level 16, but I have read through the forums and designed my city based upon the pro tips offered in another thread. Efficiency is my primary goal; sustainable (no red !s). The design also makes use of the proper supply-chain-ratios mentioned in another thread. Finally, I've attempted to keep my total number of buildings low so as to save the licenses for more advanced buildings without having to tear things down.

You might ask why so many fields? Two reasons, I dislike large open spaces in between buildings if I can help it, and I have those areas planned out for farm expansion potential. Some of the outside fields will become farms in time. My fields also tend to exhaust overnight with 15 farms worth of production(1x level 1, 7 x level 2) to ensure they don't run dry and stall out well away there are extras waiting, also there's no downside except filling in the space :D.

Some water wells have been placed to act like decorations to fill a space, given the small cost to place them and all decorations cost gems, it was the only real alternative. The surplus is also used with trading.

The central area I have decided to use for housing, current population is 300 settlers to keep my army of meat shields in good supply.

The upper portion is used for minor hardwood and one of my two large scale fir logging productions. Coal production, Iron bar production and tool production are also found in this area along with there areas main storehouse. The northern area has been claimed for Major hardwood production since it is a large spread out area of hardwood.

The bottom portion contains the second major fir logging production chain, along with the main fir and hardwood lumber operations. The lower half of this area is used for Beer and bread production primarily along with the fishing production. This is also the location for weapon production and general settlement buildings such as the branch office, provisions and barracks. Marble and stone production are also present.

On the zoomed map you can see the second marble production area, as well as the several masons and there storehouses along the coast. Copper mining and another water sector along with there storehouses can also be seen.

As I have 2 x level 2 weapon smiths and 2 level 2 tool makers, If I am focusing on military, I sleep my tool makers and focus on weapons, if I am focusing on building I sleep my weapon smiths and focus on tools, and if neither is of importance I sleep 1 weapon smith and the 1 tool maker. All three of these options provide me with a direct balance to copper bar usage from the 2 level 2 smelters so I only require 1 level 2 copper mine.

Copper Bar: Under restricted 3 scenarios mentioned above = ~0, if all tool makers and weapon smiths active ~ -4

(From the instructional play 'How Not To Be UnBaboons' by BaboonBill, senior playwright for the Babooniguay Players)

The island nation of BadBabooniguay has been growing in spurts as the ravaging bandits of the countryside have been slowly eliminated. While they have proven rather unaggresssive, the Mad Baboon (Mayor of Badbabooniguay) has deemed them unfit subjects for his expansionalist agenda and have methodically begun to 'aggressively negotiate' them into submission. His initial colony was clustered around the Mayoral Manse, but as the UnBaboons (as the loyalist citizens have begun to call the 'bandits') have been forcibly indentured like the uncivilized neanderthals they are, industry has demanded more space for factories, logging camps, and quarries.

The town center has been rather reduced in factories, as the Mad baboon doesn't seem to like the fumes of smelting bronze of the black smoke of the Charcoaler's Union (Local 103) to intrude upon his morning coffee. As a result, a large open space has been provided for the future Noble's District, which will hopefully be built upon the backs of whatever next group of UnBaboons they manage to capture and force into indentured labor. Citizen Residences have a fine ocean view on the sothron coasts, sandwiched between the fertile farmlands and the gentle rolling hills of the firtree forests of the eastern suburb of BadBaboonica.

The industries have moved Northwards, and the lumber industries have taken root in the forests there. The 'stinky factories ' (as our beloved mad Baboon described them) have been given the arid plateau between the main city of BadBaboonica and the grand forest of Theplacewifallthemstrees, where they are less likely to mar the skyline of the Ducal Palace of the Mad Baboon as he gazes upon the lands he calls "So Totally Mine' as he sips upon coffee flavored with the tears of the UnBaboon indentured workforce at his fingertips.

As more advanced buildings are demanded by the growing populace, a gang of surly Masons have been given dominion over the rocky hills east of the grand Lake BlueBaboon, where they wear funny hats, make secret handshakes, and quarry for all their worth in the dusty hills in exchange for their independence from the dreaded 'You live-a in mah town, you pay-a me for the privilege' Tax that was imposed just recently.

Overall, the island Nation of BadBabooniguay is growing steadily, wiping out or 'incorporating' the UnBaboons into proper lifestyles, taxing the heck out of the populace and eating tons of Solid Fish Sammiches. It may be a rough and tumble life, but at least we're not UnBaboons!

I accidentally deleted my first post (closed the tab before posting) so I'm sorry if this is a little brief.

As I've grown I've had a few constants to try to hold on to:
- Maintain the forrest area
- Keep groups as close together as possible
- Segment fir and stone from hardwood and marble

So here is the area in the south west - by the Mayor's House. I have all of the wheat production chain buildings here as well as major mining. Even though it's inefficient I have also decided to put the tavern, barracks, provisions house, branch office, and residences. It just end up looking nicer.
