1. Economic overview window- So you can see how many each building you have and what your overall production times are.
2. A list of all you previous trades- It would be nice to know who I traded with and what the trade was exactly.
3. Be able to pack up and move the buildings around- Perhaps it will cost some tools and other resources to do, but it should still be cheaper than tearing down and rebuilding.

1. It seems weird that when I attack the bandits I take a turn and kill them all and then they take a turn and hurt me back. It feels like they're somehow attacking me even though they're dead.
2. It's hard to tell when your mines have run out or where they are - lots of zooming around looking for them.
You're not thinking of it quite right. It's not they I have a turn and then they have a turn, it's both of you attack at the same time, take your damage, and then go to the next turn. The replays may make it seem like in every battle you fight and then they fight, but in reality you're both fighting at the same time.Quote:

3) Other "project" paths: similar to #2, I feel the game needs different ways to break up the singular focus of the "military-industrial complex". I enjoy puttering with my little town, but I became discouraged when it dawned on me that the entire focus of ALL this activity was to build little armies that beat up on little huts (with adventures appearing to be just bigger huts). Breaking that focus, or providing different paths for your economic activity, would offer the player the feeling that are controlling their own destiny.

1. Movers - even if it was where you had to make a giant cart to move it via the Provision House. Say 50 HW and 10 Iron Bars per 5 moves. This makes it so people CAN do it, just requires them to invest some resources into it. Moving level 1 buildings isn't too bad, but once you upgrade and get to advanced building, it starts to hurt if you want to redecorate your kingdom.
2. Sitter Mode - let's say you're going on vacation, allow players to designate someone to take care of it, possibly disabling trades and a few other features to prevent abuse.
3. PvP - Once you conquere your area allow us to start to find other players. Maybe require a War Room building so players that wish to opt out can.
1. Tablet Support. This would require grid settings as described by others and the ability to get information on items seeing how tablets can't mouse over the items.

I don't care about PVP, and frankly I don't want it. I don't usually like playing with others in an mmo, I just like chatting with others on an mmo
There are so many good ideas in this thread it is hard to just pick three.
**ANDROID AND IOS Support (this gets asterisk and not numbers because i want it that much! lol)
1. Allow us to clear trees to build in that area. Forester should just plant wherever space is open and woodcutters should cut down anywhere there is a tree!
2. Guild Chat that pops up similar to when trade chat becomes available after you join a guild.
3. After a certain level...the bandits could get adventurous and send small raiding parties if you explore their sector. Perhaps this would help people to encourage them to keep standing armies and make troops before exploring new sectors.
4. Technology Research is a great idea. Everyone loves doing research. More stuff there is to research the funner it is for me. Along with this i love the idea of having a scientist who could do research similar to "treasure hunts", except at the end instead of finding treasure he finds "a potion that granted all your current soldiers 10 extra hp", or some other random effect from a list of hundreds of perks. Or perhaps a random buildings gets buffed for a few hours. Could really go anywhere with this.

6. Roads increase speed based on material of road. This is self explanatory.
7. Experience from stuff other than combat. I love the achievements suggestion. One of the best things for me in any casual style game is going to look at my "trophy room". The more achievements i have to work towards for the more engaging the game is for me. For instance. Build your first woodcutter, heres a badge and 50 planks. Build a bronze smith, here's a badge and 50 bronze swords. I know there is some rewards now but after the first 15 levels which go by very quickly the game seems to almost come to a complete halt and for me it was very discouraging when i had nothing to do but wait on swords to hit a bandit camp with no other way to earn any type of experience toward my level. It's also a way to get players to compete. If i look at someone's tropy room on their profile and marvel, then i work harder to get that!
8. Avatar stuff. We all love messing with our avatars. Lets find equipment to equip our general with. +5% attack bonus sword or +5% defense bonus shield, stuff that can also be found on treasure hunts.
9. Random Monster Quests. Oh my god i just logged in and there is a Dire Wolf over in the mountains. Quick grab your soldiers and go kill that bad boy. More experience...more stuff to do. Always a good thing!
10. Rethink the goods = more goods for certain items. Are my soldiers 10 armed mutants? Why do i need 10 swords to make 1 soldier, i don't really understand that.
11. I have to agree with the one poster. The Games name sounds a little funny to me like words that do not go together in a sensible manor. Castle is an object and Empire is a "realm of rule". They don't really correlate.
12. Mail Filter - so i can select buffs, select message, select battle reports and view filtered.
13. Buff Timer - this is a big one for me. When does the dang buff run out so i can plan with guild members when to exchange buffs again.
14. "Repost Last Trade" or "favorites list" to save frequent trade offers.
15. Mail notification for geologist results.
16. Ability to have a sitter (you can tell the posters who have played Travian eh?)
17. Battle report. Instead of having it turn based when i kill them all, then from the dead they attack me back. Have both sides attack at the same time simulating real battle. Both sides have losses at the same time. It feels weird when i always go first and kill them all then they hit me back and i lose troops. If it's going to be truly turn based, i should go second once in awhile....as much as i don't want to go second lol. Cenzton commented on the original post explaining it but i have to agree with the original poster that the replays "lead you to believe" that the battles are turn based, which if they were the results don'y make sense. Having both animations fire at the same time is whats really happening so why not show it that way. We still get the same result :p
18. Saw an idea for change of season. Being that all settlements are identical and i understand the reasoning behind that, change of seasons would be cool or just allow us to change our backdrop. This is lowest on list of things i would like to see but it is always something i did enjoy. I also realize it means creating an imageset for each season for every buildings etc so i don't expect it. Never hurts to ask though :)

2. When you place a building (wheat field/well) you shouldn't have to go back and select it again to build another, same thing for a fish stack, if you have more you should still be able to keep using them.
3. Combat/leveling tweaks. Better use of units and quicker leveling, or increased unit train times.

Counter-cheat measures (I'm horrified that this fantastic game has none!)
I strongly suggest trade restrictions on lopsided trades.
Checking IPs and observing for violation of game rules is a slow process which often overlooks many, if not the majority, of the rule breakers. By the time you ban one, you will have a handful more to deal with.
Implementing trade restrictions will make multiple account abuse less rewarding, which in turn will sway the to-be-cheaters to reconsider the risks of such abuse.
It will at the very least prevent newer players from getting ripped off through ridiculous trade offers and rid this game of the economy-push shenanigans.
I have to add one even though i posted like 18 already.
Ability to TURN OFF ANIMATIONS if we so desired or at a bare minimum pick a low resolution mode. One of the best things i like about these games is that i can log in from work to my home pc with remote desktop and check up on my thriving community. Animation is remote desktop's worst enemy. The ability to enter low graphics mode or to simply shut off animation while im viewing via RDP would be utterly fantastic.

1) I second Patman's post - I'd love to see daily/weekly random events. Ex : Disease springs up - develop/distribute a cure (perhaps this could be social, spreads to your friends :P), pop growth slowed. Ill weather - Increased travel times from Storehouse to deposits, animals are scarce. Good Fortune - Mines have a larger deposit size, fishing/hunting production increased, +10% treasure hunt finds. In addition to these there could be smaller individual events such as say, a wildfire spreads giving you the option of putting it out at the cost of water or letting a part of a sector burn, killing wood production in the area for 1+ day(s).
2) Diplomacy. Other than luring in retired bandits with 625 bread, there should be an option for your general to negotiate with bandits and gain experience for a surrender. The costs should be high enough to roughly balance out with the costs in material and time of building an army to take the bandits out.
3) The ability to boost production through population, IE - Add another settler or two to a well rather than spend 50 tools to double production on a temporary resource. This could be implemented as a social tool as well, lend a settler to a friend, though within limits so certain multi-accounters aren't sending 150 settlers from a dummy account to a main. Additionally we should have the ability to unassign a settler from his job if production is paused. Perhaps as a negative add in a training period when assigning a new settler to a building.
1. An Overview pane with total buildings and production of each commodity.
2. Non-depleting resource nodes. Why do resource nodes deplete if all I have to do is send out my geologist to find another node in the exact same place? Or build a well/field in the exact same place? It's a pain in the rear, adds nothing to gameplay and simply isn't fun!
3. Some sort of technology research mechanism.
First of all there are some great suggestions here, but few if any will be implemented. From years of personal experience, once a project starts heading off in a specific tangent, senior management becomes very reluctant to alter course in mid-flight. And it always has the same end result, a inferior product that could have been much better, had management allowed the more creative personnel to implement common sense parameter adjustments.
It seems the European market has been targeted for core sales, and the product may very well sell there with no problem, in its present form. But if sales projections for North-American are showing profitability with the current version, I would suggest someone re-crunch the numbers. Few American gamers have the attention span or the free time to invest so much effort for so little reward.
A major overhaul in the resource/manufacturing/product/transportation chain is badly needed. There are so many bottle-necks & choke points that its not worth wasting the space to list them all.
In the past UBI has produced some great games in the past, and I am confident that somebody will throw on the hand brakes and give some serious consideration to setting the throttle back to reasonable before the entire project goes off the tracks and over a cliff.

#3: A queue ability - I work long days sometimes 12+ hours, and coming home to all my wheat fields/wells empty, and missing out on a full hunt for my explorer's seems to be a harsh penalty for having to work. So my solution is to allow a queue, if we drop a wheat field on an existing one it adds one to be built there on that queue, with an explorer you can go in and select a treasure hunt while they are on one and queue the next up, and to avoid people abusing it, only allow 1 queue per building/NPC, so like if I know I'm going to be at work for a full 12 hours, I can drop 3-4 wheat fields and wells on existing ones and rest easy!
Thank you for your time, this game is fun (and slightly addicting, I can't not check it whenever I get home) and the last little suggestion that didn't make it into the top 3 cause I feel like if it was possible you're already doing it, but would <3 ubi forever if you got this running on the Droid OS for mobile users :P

1.The ability to reorder provisions and troops being recruited like how you can constructing buildings.
2.An ability to research extra bonuses at the Mayor's House and/or possibly use certain amount of material to buff all buildings of one type.
3.Ability to send certain specialist to friends like a geologist to search for Marble or Explorer to unlock another sector via exploration.

My top 3:
1. Ability to play on iOS - just got an iPad and it will become my travel computer, which means no playing while traveling :-( (or an iOS app that would let us play)
2. Email reports from geologist - never know what or if he finds anything
3. Faster leveling after 15 (or different quests so I wasn't just waiting for my swords to be made so I can beat the next bandit, then rinse and repeat).
PS - I'm currently level 18
1. the ability to move the buildings at least once if no wipe holds true,
2. either lower the resources needed to make troops or sped the times up some.
3 you have people wanting to have player to player and those who don't, if you do design a map, or away to show where the players are, then mark those willing to go person to person with red and those wanting to stay peaceful in green. this would need to be an choice you could only change acouple of times, and not jump in and out of.
Economic Calculator - would love to know how much total resources I'm making, and how many I'm losing per hour.
Trees always in my way of building, would like to be able to build where trees are and I would like a national forest at the top zone, so I could put all cutters in one spot
Better trading, maybe like an auction house instead of only having one trade at a time. I have so many extra resources and need so many more, but can only trade one every ten minutes takes forever. I don't have the time to sit here for hours playing and trading.

1) Better battle experience (either slightly more ability to manage troops or better battle screen with graphics)
2) PvP and World Map (I feel the two go hand in hand)
- since our settlement is on an island, why not make the world map be an ocean with all the different players islands!
- this would add an awesome dynamic where players could build ships, and travel to different islands using them
- the ships could be stationed around the island for protection so in pvp (or if npc attacked) there could be ocean battle (and if the ships unsuccessfully repelled the invading army) then a land battle
- ppl shouldn't lose their islands but maybe lose resources if a player or npc successfully attacks
- neighboring players can join up so help can be delivered quickly
- if a player is offline there should be something preventing others from attacking (or at least some penalty or deterrent for doing so)
3) The roads should definitely give some type of bonus.
1) Different landscapes - Allow user to pick a region where there plethora of certain resources and scarcity of other resources, but have enought to start a basic small city. For example, You decide to build a town near the desert that is scarces in water, and trees, but lots of marble, and stones. Or leave near the forest where there are lots of trees and water, but lack stones and metals, etc. This will force people to start trading and interacting with one another. A world map will be helpful to trade with neighbors or people from afar. Makes every city a little different versus everyone is a clone of one another.
2) Civilization and Happiness in city. In the previous settlers games there were points that allow you to perform research in certain areas either military or economic branches. Civilization based on having books, candles, etc in your city. While Happiness is how much your town attract new citizens. Bring back the church which boost happiness temporarily.
3) Combat needs big improvement. We're just throwing bodies into the camps. Poor recruits...
1. PvP. I'm not really sure the game has a POINT without some form of player vs player combat. My girlfriend and I both play, and we feel like this all has to be going towards a competitive point, but if that point isn't PVP it's unclear what else it would be.
2. Speed things along a little in the early levels. Lower the build time of early components like tools and fish and stone. The drag from 10-16 has been reallllly painful. I can see where buying some gems has some appeal, but honestly, if people have to choose between buying lots of gems or spending 24-48 hours waiting for stone and tools and fish and etc to be built this early in the game, a lot of people are just going to give up. Make the early levels fly by a little faster.
3. Bandits should be able to attack us. Otherwise, why do buildings have repair options on them? (Unless I'm just not far enough along to need that function.)
1) I would like a player market place. i would like to place an order to buy 100 wheat for x of a resource. other players could look through orders of wheat for x, and take the initiative and trade me, even while im offline. players would select 2 resources and there would be 2 ordered lists for trading (one for each direction of the trade). they would be ordered by ratio, and partial trades would be accepted as long as it preserved the ratio. essentially a resource exchange
2) Make combat and units more interesting. maybe something like the heroes of might and magic series. you should be able to build upgrades for your units and apply them in the barracks that would help certain stats. like steel tipped arrows for archers (dmg+5), leather armor for recruits (hp+10, and so on. i would really like to see the combat mechanics changed into something a little more complex too. with different damage types, partial damage absorption depending on unit and upgrade, and dodge mechanics.
3) build over tree stumps! when buildings are destroyed the tree stumps return. if this cant be done because of balance, ie space is a resource, then i would like to see some sort of grid view where players can plan to use the space effectively (grids filled in red for places that are unusable).
1) The ability to see and/or assign what area a building has influence over.
2) Lowered resource costs. Why does a recruit need 10 swords or a bowman need 10 bows? Especially considering how long it takes just to create one weapon from a level 1 smithy.
3) PvP with added strategic depth.
Suggestion I : Building Relocation. I know this has been mentioned several times, but I would like to emphasize this once more. After spending plenty of resources and time to upgrade a building, I noticed it would be more efficient if it were positioned elsewhere. Destroying and re-building would be a gross wasted of time and resources. Was curious if the game engineers were considering this option?
Suggestion II: Trade Management. Currently, if a player posts a trade option and I accept the trade, my resources are removed from my stock. If that player does not reply back, I no longer have the resources until they do. There should be an option to retract my offer if they do not reply within a specified amount of time. I have had resources tied up for hours, finally resulting is someone changing their mind. This also has been mentioned as a recommendation, I was just looking to emphasize the point. Is there any intent from the game designers to resolve this issue?
Suggestion III : Building Upgrades. There is an option within each building to upgrade using gems. Issue is its not active. Will it go active? Would be nice to use gems to upgrade resources.

There are a few areas that are frustrating that would improve the gameplay significantly.
1) Buffs need to show a timer. There are many higher end buildings that you do not want to have running unless buffed (gold production for example). The problem is that there is no way to know for sure how much longer a buff will last on a building. If you go AFK and someone comes along and buffs your buildings you have no way to tell what kind of buffs they used. When your logging off for the night you would like to have a friend place basket buffs that will last through the night, but the current buffs are still on and you have no idea when they are expiring, very frustrating! I suggest that buffs have a timer showing when they will expire, and that all buffs can be written over with a higher end buff.
2) A sortable table showing overall production would really help with troubleshooting production. It would be great if you could turn on/off all of a certain type of building at once, see how many of each building you have, and set priorities for how resources are used.
3) Everyone who likes this type of game likes different elements best. Not everyone enjoys the combat as much as they do the building/design, or the complexity of balancing resources. I would like to see some alternative ways to gain experience. Quests for creating a large number of resources or for placing a certain number of fields/wells, or reaching storage space goals or buiding levels.
of course there are other things, but i find that these are ones that would improve the game for everyone.
1). Each upgrade for the Mayor's House decreases the time it takes to get settlers(population). This would really help speed up clearing bandit camps and adventures.
2). Higher level adventures could maybe have a chance to drop some gem items from the shop(would really love being able to get building licenses).
3). A building which reduces the costs of gold upgrades by a % for each of its upgrades would be nice(1000g for level 4 houses looks painful).
By far the most annoying thing in this game is is having to rebuild fields and wells. When I log on after a while (ie, in the morning, after work etc) I have so many wells and fields that need rebuilding and can only queue 3 at a time.... C'mon guys, that takes forever and leaves me sitting there with not much to do but wait for 1 to be built so I can plant another.
Give us a bigger queue or eliminate the need all together. Wells are the most annoying because we need so many. Maybe give us some way for feilds to rotate automatically.
I would also like to mention that this situation could be a deal breaker for the game. If there is something that will bore and annoy me to the point of not playing any more, this is it.Quote:

I'm an old AoE player and I'm on level 18 here. I am assuming this game is designed to not be fully immersive. I am assuming a slow progress model to stimulate critical incoming revenue.
1) Allow building and feature relocation.
Inducing high resource consumption for building relocation may be a double edged sword. Loss of interest might be averted by allowing the player to continually modify and change the overall layout. You may wish to force destruction and rebuilding of the basic level buildings to adhere to your revenue model a bit better. The resource intense nature of relocating the buildings above basic will only frustrate players, but lowering the resource requirement would not compliment the revenue model. Players will get bored with a layout that becomes permanent, mistakes and all. Rearranging it will help keep their interest considerably.
2) make the game more immersive perhaps?
Some players may like the part-time play model, and let the game progress while they are away. I would wonder how many players in the market would seek more ongoing activities in the game? Compared to the AoE model, there is less activities for the player. At some point, the game play experience is reduced to being a spectator. The player who seeks full immersion will get bored quickly. Allowing rearrangement would help somewhat.
3) Minor: Increase house resident capacity. (Does not serve revenue model)
So there's some input. The least I can do for being a blood-sucking leech, right?
The game is lacking a view sheet that shows all of my building levels so I can plan. Manually counting building types and levels sucks.
Needs a better notification system for exhausted resources, I'm always finding them just by chance.
1. It is too easy to accidentally upgrade buildings, a simple "are you sure" box would have saved me 700 gold which has cost days to recover.
2. Too many building licenses must be allocated to mines and housing
3. Economy manager tab that shows which resources are trending up or down.
