Pushing, shoving, tripping and falling

I did a very little bit of roller derby at one point of my life and I did a lot of pushing, shoving, tripping and falling, but it didn't take me long to ask myself why was I doing this, because the money was short and the hours were long and when I was done I had nothing to show for the hard work and pain. So this is my question! Why would anyone or everyone PUSH anything to one person in a guild to help that one person become the biggest and best player in the group? Why would anyone go through all the work building up and then using up their own valuable resources by pushing it all to the leader? I am new to these types of games and if there is a reason behind this madness of pushing I would just like to know.

Did u watch the movie matrix back in the 1999 ? If u did , u must know wat ppl call the " chosen one" lulz =P

It's a strategy to help drive a players economy so they can produce say lots of troops for when PVP becomes a reality. Or it could be to drive this persons economy so they can be a battery of resources for other players.

There's nothing wrong with the strategy so long as all the people pushing are from unique IP's and aren't multi's.

Oh I see, it is a legal way to cheat other players. Everyone is so worried about starting off on even terms with the new players that will come, so we have the wipe, no wipe issue and we have the worries about one person having two accounts, but we will allow 20 players to gang up on one player in PVP by making one leader a super power and then they can filter down to all the lowerings the spoils of war that are stolen from the poor innocent single player that has no idea so many are ganging up against them. Strange how everyone seems to find legal was to steal and then feel good about it.

I really don't care how other players play, I was just wondering why a concept like pushing was around and now I see why it's done. Please don't mistake curiosity for weakness. Maybe it's not care bears you smell, it might be gummie bears.

For the moment highest level only gives prestige...if you didn't get it legitimately who cares?

Agreed, It's a strategy found in many online games. Many of the smaller and/or less active players will enter a League, Guild, Army or whatever that particular game uses and contribute to the larger, more experienced and more active players in return for resources, protection, guidance etc.

If a group of individuals comes together for a common cause (in this case Guilds) then it only makes sense that they will try to maximize that cause to provide them with the greatest benefit.

pushing or buffing accounts via alt's has been around for years. games like EverQuest and other such games started treads of pushing, by means of group/grinding.
the typical pushing happens via alt "bot" accounts that are used to support the main account. typically in any MMO style game using the Tri-group system would be a tank or damage dealer class. and the alts will be healers or other buffing classes. its used as a means to "powerlevel" the main account without having to work to gather the required actual players (a good example of this for todays standards is 1 guy in the usa was reported to have beaten a World of Warcraft raid dungeon by him self, which is generally a 10 person raid, by using multi-accounts for healing, tanking and damage dealing)

pushing in browser style games comes from the requirement of time = money. most games that require you to dedicate a large amount of time to "grind" in the game will always have some form of pushing accounts. especially when it comes to games like CEO where you require a large amount of resources to get anywhere, the reasons for the pushing is purely up to the person(s) doing the pushing but typically its to make 1 person high enough level that they unlock rare/expensive items that can be funneled back down to the pushing accounts (if the pushing accounts are actual players) or used to generate alot of ingame money/ or item wealth.

buildings like the guild hall which use 3k gold will always be a target for pushing, as using multiply accounts for gold will get you the guild hall faster then doing so legit, but i would not consider pushing accounts evidence of "pro" playing. more of a desire to be top via less then "honourable" means, if you want to get a good idea of why pushing happens, just think back to when you started CEO and think about how long or hard it took you to level up once, or gather the required resources for a building. pushing skips over that downtime or wait period, which is why people do pushing accounts.

come player vs player, you will see alts used for spying if it becomes competitive enough to warrant such requirements.

overall, pushing is just another form of gameplay not exactly viewed as ideal or fair by many players.
