Serious Need For Auto Accept or Decline Trade System!

The only issue I can see seriously flawed with the trade system is the lack of an "Auto" Accept or decline. As it stands now someone can send a trade request and if the other person logs off or doesn't check email you are in a forced limbo without your resources for how ever long the other person is away or chooses not to reply... If they have the goods the system should auto accept the trade immediately if they do not have them because someone beat you to them then auto decline! What do we do if someone has a trade posted and logs off and doesn't return for days? We are stuck without our goods and theirs...

There's what we seem to think is a 24 hour return period, so your materials aren't held hostage forever. As far as an Auto-accept, that's probably not the best idea as just because someone takes a trade, it doesn't vanish from the trade window, so if there's an auto-accept on, the person could end up giving away way more materials than they wished to.

that's true but there could be a extra slider added top set max goods traded so as not to give away too much and once max is reached auto remove trade from list.

there should be some sort of device to force people to accept or decline and a deadline shorter than 24 hours. sorry but if you don't accept a trade offer for 24 hours you can just find a trade the next time you get on. I would suggest maybe if you don't answer a trade request within 10-15 minutes then there's a reminder system in case the reasoning is you just didn't notice you had the request in your mail box. if there's still no answer or the player has logged off then the trade offer is void and all resources returned to it's original owner within maybe 2-3 hours.

it's my biggest complaint with the game. I can't begin to count how many times I've sent a request only to lose those resources for much too long.

I like the idea, but prefer a store front. Let me purchase a store and set up a shop. That way if I have marble I can set my price and people can purchase it whenever they want, Kingdom of Loathing style. You could offer up the more difficult things to create like sandwiches in exchange for 800 marble (just throwing out a number) and have as many as you can create or want to give up. That's my hope for the game one day. Someone make that happen.

yes that would be great with the shop thing and the players could search their resources they need under the trader tab and they would get a list of players shops and what they charge

I am not very keen on the store idea. There would have to be a mechanism in place to make sure you did not sell more than you had on hand or more than you wanted to. The store would need to be auto-closed when you log off, otherwise people would try to purchase items while you away and unable to mind the shop. What people have on excess of, and they need changes constantly depending upon the needs of thier city-state. Shops would be opening and closing constantly. The trade system works well for people to be able to balance thier stockage levels, with the exception of the fact it can take up to 24 hours to complete the trade.

or close automatically when your out of resources to sell not that hard and if you want to sell only x amount there would an option to set up how many you want to sell ether by time like hourly or just that amount does that solve all those problems

make the store capacity based and you have to add items from your possessions to it before any price could be set.

Seriously, this reliance on other people to click the [Decline] button (and it seems less than half do) makes me not want to trade. If 1/3 of the trades marginally help, 1/3 get canceled, and 1/3 I get screwed, I am at a net loss due to the trading system without this enhancement.

While I have had a couple of trades where I have had to wait a few hours for them to finalized one way or the other, for the most part the trades I have participated in have been processed rather quickly. So merely based on personal experience I do not see the need for a store type system.

but it would cool and ensure a consist supply of income and as well many options for players to choose from and to make even more realist that stores have different traveling times so even if a resource is a heavy bargain it may take a long time to get to the store and transport the resources back home and there should be a transportation building and upgrades would decrease time for traveling and carrying space increase each time you upgrade so trades would still be there because of this drawback

My biggest desire for the game is increasing the stack size via trading to at least 1k.. Why is this arbitrary 400 stack size for trading in place? Who thought that was a good idea?.. Wait.. why is there a limit anyways? What's the purpose? When I need to sell 30k iron, or worse yet, trade it between friends, doing it 400 at a time is tedious and.. well.. unnecessary.

I think the moment you put a trade up it takes your resources. when someone selects the trade it excepts it and the trade is done the end. i think if you put a trade up you should be able to put up multiple stacks such as 2*400 meaning you want to trade 2 sets of 400. once those are excepted it should remove your trade. there is no need to send it to your mail if you put up a trade it means you want to trade it THE END!!!. I also think you should be able to put more then one type of trade up not have to wait 10 min for it or be able to set up how long you want it posted for.

I also think you should be able to trade more then 400 especially when the value of some trades are high 100 for 400 instead of 400 for 1600. as players grow the value of low tier items to high tier items will rise and the 400 trade limit makes these trades take forever. higher lvl players have more licenses because they have accomplished more or spent gems to get them so their output is higher.

if it takes 10 minws for a trade to disappear y does it take me a day to receive a response!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

It might be nice to have an auto accept up to X trades where the resources exist when setting up a trade. Then people would get a fast response for those trades and then the trade can disappear and auto reject extra trades.

I obtained 200 mulled wine but they didnt give me 10 presents. Whats wrong with game?

I agree with having an extra slider on trade offers that expresses how many deals you want to offer/buy, with a max of maybe 5, keep the max resources at 400 per deal. And I believe they should be first come-first serve and be auto-accepted rather than having to wait for the poster to confirm trade. It's a good idea to stick with e-mail acceptance of goods traded though. If you try to buy multiple deals at the same time you want to make sure you have the storage space before you accept them. I'm cool with the 10 minute cool down on posting new trades though. I get tired of every game being ruined by marketeers who just hoard items/goods and have all day to monitor trades and do nothing but buy low and sell high and hardly even "play" the game.

I think the trade system is meant as a way to balance out your resource levels to account for the fact that you can't have perfect production ratios. You will inevitably have minor overrages and shortages even in a good setup. The trade system is NOT meant to allow players to bypass the point of efficient production levels and gain market leverage by becoming a coal tycoon or crossbow tycoon or <random resource> tycoon. Every other game gets boiled down to those market mechanics. Let's not turn this one into that.

i like the idea of a store system. we should be able to have 1 store per player based on what resource goods we choose to sell, based on metals (ores), foods (wheats, meats), woods/stones and then finished goods to include military and buffs. there we can limit the selling at 1K per store, and then we could shop for what is needed.

Wouldent need it if you could trade 10k resources at once.

I disagree with the deadline for trades. As would have been the case with other "empires" in the past, if you want a trade sometimes it takes not only longer than you would like, but also longer than expected. I think it adds a sense of "realism" to the trade aspect of the game. For example: "an empire / country has discovered say diamonds and others hear of it. They, before the technology of aircraft, cars, steamships, etc, would send a trade envoy with gold, or wood, or spices or whatever they hoped to trade. Sometimes that envoy would encounter challenges along the way and take longer and sometimes be lost completely. Sometimes they may show up only to find that the deposits they longed for were exhausted. Sometimes they had to wait at their destination because the stored surplus was depleted and they had to wait for more to be mined, or what not."
The point is: it's trade in "an ancient empire". Things aren't supposed to happen immediately. Also, it benefits the supply side. You can put up a "great deal" and get those orders rolling in. Of course it can than take a really long time to fill. So perhaps the ability of the buyer to "send a message" to recall the trade envoy, might be the way to go. So if the seller does not respond timely enough, the buyer is able to, after a waiting time, recall his resources. Also, there should be a rating system or the like so that other "empires" can communicate how well someone trades. You know, like 5-stars = great turn around time, good prices, etc. 4-stars= good turn around, but high priced... or some such system. (you know like ebay has).. At any rate.. those are a few of my thoughts.

I argee,, it makes you distrustfull on trades & you don't know ahead of time that the person is gonna rip you off.
Thats why i TRY to trade with people iv dealt with before & you can trust,, or get a GOOD FRND & trade with them.
Seems the server & help people should put up a list of these players that they know are cheaters of trades.

Whats wrong with the game........the game doesn't give you back what you got ripped off for....... I know cuz of the times iv lost in a crookied trade.
Plus they should list the SUSPECTED players of doing it.

I have to agree with the store idea. Sounds like a better way to do this than the trade platform. Would remove the ability for people to reverse trade as well.

Signed, give them 30 minutes and your goods come back. Also, the lag with trades is tough I have trades accepted 30 minutes after the post was up and of course posted again at a cheaper price :(

Also the over all lag with other player interaction is tough (buffs, the mentioned trade, etc). The only thing that seems fast is player to player direct trade that is quick which is nice so you can better guard against traders that cheat.

I like the open trade platform or an auction house platform is fine just give us a search feature, once servers go live it is going to be pain to look through 200 posts and it draws on the server to show us the 200 posts instead of an interface that we choose the item then the server sends us the information about that item. Anything that keeps these reverse trades from happening, I have no friends yet cuz I am worried someone will see my Trade and do to the lag I will forget what it was and accept.

The whole system is being overhauled so I would expect that a lot of the problems people experience with the trade system as it is will cease to exist with the complete overhaul that is being done. It is a large part of the game and it sounds like it is being given the attention it deserves not just a fix here and there approach.

i think the current trade system is altogether insufficient too ... a auction system would be better, you'd be able to query the server on specific items, and not have to trawl through the entire trade list to find what you want.

That could back fire, what if someone forgets to switch out from that Auto stage, and accepts a trade he didnt want to accept?

This is the hottest issue in the game - I can not even keep track of what I have out, what is coming in, what do I need now, when am I getting that back, or am I getting what I trader for, etc.

I can see how easy a reverse trade can happen with "friends" so I have yet to accept any except two very helpful people.

Sorry UbiSoft but this is pretty basic. We do not need new graphics for lvl 5 buildings, we need a trade system that has elements of every basic MMO game.

Here is to hopping they spend as much time on creating content and improving it as they do the gem sales and promotions :)

I agree the trading system is flawed.....but until they either fix it or change it, why can`t they just make it so that if you post a trade and then log out while said trade is active, the game automatically cancels the trade, thus people who have initiated trades will get their resources back within half hour of the trade being shut.

Trade system is getting a complete overhaul. We should wait and see what comes about. I am sure BB is working on it.
