Improve adventures that are thought of as trash by most players, Secluded Experiments, and Sons of the Veld. Most people give them away or delete them, and hardly anyone ever does them. it would only take a slight increase in loot to make these adventures valued by players ( ok maybe a big increase on Secluded )

Also Titanium and to a greater extent Saltpeter are basically useless and people always prey not to get them while doing adventures. Perhaps increase the drop amount or even better lower the Drop chance. This will also help to increase adventure value.

Oh... I just thought of another one... Improve the melee troops after recruits, so people actually kill them off, creating a demand for swords other than bronze. Right now it’s cheaper for me to kill 5 recruits than 1 soldier. I know soldiers save space, but it’s not enough to make it worth killing them. a recruit has 40hp and a soldier only has 90, you can go to any combat simulator for this game, and 99.3% of the time the only thing people are letting get killed is recruits, or once and a while bowmen.

I have three suggestions. They are as follows:
1) ALLOW PEOPLE TO GIFT AND/OR TRADE GEMS. It seems that if you are trying to make money that you would allow this. Since some people are willing to spend money and other aren't that this minor change would allow you to significantly increase the profitability of the game.
2) In the news tab please show us the name of the player who buffed our island while we are playing the game. That way we can reciprocate the buff.
3) Create a Troop transport to an adventure. Since you have one coming home from an adventure create something to go to the adventure. This would save a lot of time and make the game more enjoyable.

How about this...my guild and i want to keep playing and were talking about what to do. instead of going PvP..wich i think is going horribly! Make availably virtual games to play amongst the guild and also tourney with rival guilds. Make a casino house or a pool hall ( in settler theme of course) available to make and then be able to visit or cast challenges out from there. I feel that this would bring new players and also keep players waiting for production to actually stay on the tab.

The guild quests don't make sense. A reward of 10 - 15 coins/material for an investment of 60 - 80 coins/material or building a hundred soldiers that aren't needed. Plus 147 experience point when you need 100,000 or more to level up is no incentive. Consider changing these ratios to break even on the material and manpower and 500 - 2500 points depending on level.

Why don't we fix the problems with the game before coming up with new ideas like get my account working again. I was told 2 days ago my account have a java script error on ubi soft side and the guys in Germany have to fix it. They said it would be fixed by Monday morning tops and still not fixed and no response to my emails. Customer service sucks. I wouldn't complain but I buy gems so it's not a free game for me.

here is a suggestion... at each players own cost... the ability to build wheat fields and wells on fellow friends or guild members?

A buff marker...what this would be is something that could make a building visable to your buffing partner.

so instead of writing lists it would be hey hit my buff targets. they would glow for example purple. could be the same program code for buffs except you make em purple. when they are hit they turn that gold color. only last say 5 minutes or so...

pop-up size should be reduced by a big 50 % and it would b good to not make it go over our displayed ressources settler and combat info
for the new trade system the only improvement is the instantly ressourses trade we are limited at 4 trade i could do over 10 in the past it should be 4x only for 1 single person

how about an 'unload troops' button on the general dialog? this would make troop ferrying & assignment a lot easier, imo

Non-combat XP

I'm finding the repetitive quest for combat a bit boring. We need a way to gain XP without fattening up people on bread, bribing them with alcohol, and sacrificing them to the hoards. We also need women on the island-- ironic that many of your illustrations show pretty women but NONE are actually on the island. Here are my thoughts:

1. Troops need clothing: wool jerkins for recruits/bowmen/militia, wool capes for cavalry/L-bowmen/soldiers, wool uniforms for everyone else. For every XX of each type I trade to other players, I get some XP, so I become the supplier of clothing for other people's adventure quests. Troops who are supplied with clothing could move faster, or return home faster...some benefit to buying clothing that does not affect current stats.
2. Clothing comes from tailors (equivalent to swordsmiths)
3. Tailors need woven fabric (equivalent to bronze smelters)
4. Fabric comes from yarn (equivalent to coking plant)
5. Yarn comes from sheep's wool

I place a pen of sheep (like a field) on my island. If I don't also place a shepherd's hut, the sheep will wander away (like trees without a forester). If her sheep have all wandered away, no wool is produced. Every few minutes she saves a bag of wool in the storehouse. When I upgrade my shepherd, she gets a dog or five (add random dog barking sounds among the bird song I hear :-D ) I place a yarn spinner's cottage near the storehouse. As wool is available, the yarn spinner saves her yarn in the storehouse. I place a weaver's cottage near the storehouse. As yarn is available, the weaver makes bolts of fabric and saves them in the storehouse. I place a tailor's house near the storehouse. As fabric is available, the tailor makes wool jerkins. I must convert wool jerkins to wool capes and uniforms in the Prov House, like pine planks to HW planks.

Similar to grain/flour/bread production, if I plant fields of flowers, I can place beehives near the flowers. When my flower fields are empty, my bees don't make honey, and I have to rebuild the fields. My beekeeper stores her honey in the storehouse. She converts it in the Prov House to brew (or the brewery uses honey instead of grain+water). I can trade the honey or brew to other players.

And how about fields of herbs that can be made into medicine by a pharmacist? Think of a jar of expensive medicine that can make the general need less rest (like a buff for the general), a jug of 'tonic' that will make the geologist or explorer work faster (a buff for them), or a salve for sore feet that makes recruits train faster (a little buff for the barracks, in lieu of upgrading it). Every container of medicine (random production -- you get what you get) increases XP when it's used. It would trade at the level of granite, and could not be bought for gems.

Maybe I should be able to trade goods to other players for their XP? They get XP through combat and can choose to trade it away for things I produce. They would be able to trade XP down to the limit for their current level, so would not 'level down' by trading away XP. They share XP with me by trading for my goods.

What do you think? Can we get some non-combat ways to get XP, to give folks a choice as to how they build their island experience? And can we get some women in the clothing, beekeeping, pharmacy (what else?) industries?

I'd like to be able to have a building shut down automatically when its buff wears off. This would be a toggle available to each building, not the entire island. I would pay for this feature. Resources, gems, $$$, whatever you want.

I would like to see those treasure searches start turning up a few more things other than resources. My initial thought on this would be to add something like "Battle Tested Spurs" to the loot table for treasure searches. These would be used from the star menu while on a adventure and would allow your generals to travel at 1.5 times their normal speed. Most of the time people know what they are doing in adventures and would love to be able to shorten that slow walk time from garrison to enemy camp.

I would also like to be able to set the production on building in some form or another ...

Say I know I will not be able to get online, I wouldnt mind being able to set say my bread production chain to maybe 60% or 80% max output. This would in turn slow the need for wheat which would deplete my fields slower etc etc

How about the option to set building at 110% max output and add in the random chance that they can blow up ... adds a little bit of a risk reward to it all

Obviously, this chat situation gets out of control quite often, so i suggest, that chat be limited to guilds. but, Guild members, would be able to invite members of another guild to the chat, at the same time, have the power to kick them from it. this would create a self moderated chat situation, and a better auction situation.
Next idea, once you get to the point of level 50, it doesnt seem like there is much of anything left to do, i suggest, a prestige situation, where you have the option to restart your character, but with a special badge of honor to signify you "conquering" the game before, but this new start, you would keep your mayors house as it was when you left it, and you would gain a significant amount of cool ingame items, maybe some cool buildings that only one who has prestiged can have, items which cannot be sold traded or shared. also, a type of rank, aside from the level itself to indicate the players level of knowledge or helpfulness.

Think SMS (or Facebook Messanger, for that matter)
I want to be able to put an SMS-alarm on my buildings. The SMS should tell me that the mine is depleated or whatever. Every alarm has an ID so that I can reply to the SMS with "OK" to add a new deposit or send my scout on a new adventure or my geologist on a new search.

The clue is that you configure the alarm to do one exact thing. If you want your geologist to find something else you need to reconfigure your alarm.

Why?
Because I would like to be able to keep my humble residents busy even when I'm not behind a computer. My smartphone is not the ideal tool to play this game.

I wanted to pass some ideas. It seems the guild capabilities are very limited. How about expanding what the guild can do for it's members. Creating an easy way to share adveture partners and buff partners is a crucial element missing right now. Also, with the advent of the auction channel I was thinking an area should be set up for "guild resources". Basically a place where guild members could place excess resources or resources won at auction that are then avaiable at a lower cost to other guild members. Especially now that PvP is just around the corner. Overall I think guilds need to be made more interactive. I think it could grow the game and he number of participants greatly. Another issue that seems to be talked about game wide is the lack of any new adventures. After doing the same adventures over and over day in and day out they get to be REALLY boring. At a minimum maybe make the adventures that are available right now but nobody plays (SOV, VTV, Traitors, Outlaws) a little more player friendly. And by this I mean make it worth the loss of troops and time to complete any of these adventures. More Xp seems to be the most popular way to do this (Nords is one of the most popular if not THE most popular adventure because of the XP available).
Lastly - The guild quests were so being looked forward to and are by far the biggest dissapointment this game has presented. I find people were actually getting hostile toward BlueByte because of how ridiculous the rewards for completing a quest are. They probably would have been better off not doing it at all. How about revamping that? Even making just the XP more substatial would be an improvement.

Ok I got a suggestion, and I feel this is a good one. I would like to see in your barracks where you can tell how much it will take per troops so before you make 25 troops you can figure out how much time it will take to complete. This should be an easy fix, and be beneficial to players at any level.

Why not take all the Events they had and put them all tonight before Halloween again?

My suggestion pertains to the guild quests currently in effect. The rewards are very little when compared to the cost that it demands in order to finish them. I would suggest doing more prizes/shop items to balance that issue otherwise the guilds will only cancel out the quests and they never get done. Something like, for instance the quest I received today "Make 3000 marble available from your storehouse." the current prize is only 10 gold and 5 titanium ore. It costs the player at least 100 gold to buy that much marble or somewhere around 12-14 hours of production to finish it leaving no time to aid other guild members in completing them which leaves the quest unfinished and those who had, lose out on the rewards. Instead, perhaps lowering the demand to around 500-1000 of the resource or offering better prizes like 5 gems, building licenses, experience, 50-100 gold or such hard to come across items like that would encourage more people to work together and actually DO the guild quests.

looking at these threads i've noticed a lot of good ones that have yet to be added in.. i dobut it will happen soon however but when it does i would like more ways to earn exp durring beginner tutorial.. killing bandits is not easy when it takes 10 bronze swords to train each recruit shouldn't it be more balnced to like 1 sword per person?

Without a doubt this has been suggested before, but I would like to reiterate the point. Returning generals need to be able to have a specific spot assignable to return to. Sector 1 on my island is filling up and so returning generals are put in random places. I have a nicely set up location i like to put my generals when not adventuring. But I'm always having to transfer when they return. It'd be nice if they automatically returned to "their" spot.

For pity's sake, change the colour of the whisper chat. It hurts us, it does. It hurts our eyes.

87 pages of replies and I didn't run across this suggestion in this particular thread in the few pages i browsed through, but i'm sure it's here and suggested already.. However, just to reiterate the point... I'm not asking to change the way the game runs or to make the game less difficult or make it less work to complete tasks, however, a simple Mine / active deposit counter would be nice.

Also, maybe the game could indicate the maximum number of active deposits you are allowed after claiming each new sector? There's nothing worse than sending one of my geo's out for a new coal deposit and then suddenly realizing that there was a new one hiding among some pinewood trees, making me at max capacity. Then i have to wait 4 hours for my geo to return empty-handed... is this a work-in-progress or am i the only one with this frustrating situation? Something that ties up our geo's for 4 hours, or even longer at higher levels, should not be left up to my guess-work, in my opinion.

But, I'm not gonna just complain and leave it at that. I also want to say WHAT A GREAT GAME!!!! I love it!! This gets me through all my long, boring days at work at the office! And I find myself logging in all hours of the day / night to complete meaningless (in real life) tasks. lol. Thanks for that!

My suggestion is simple.

A friary produces 4x brew then a brewery would

So make a building that produces 4x the amount of bread. and make it the bread equivalent of the friary

Add a column to the guild member list to show when each guild member was last logged in. Right now the only way to tell if a guild member is still active is to inspect his/her island to see if it looks empty, and even that is not foolproof. Or send the member an email asking for reply. If a member hasn't logged in for 3 weeks the Guild Leader would be able to readily see that in the added column.

Another suggestion I would personally use a lot is a feature to repeat your last trade offer. For example, if I post Copper ore wanting to get Bronze swords, maybe after that trade expires, I can click on the Trade tab, and click a Repeat Last Offer button. And then it would have a confirmation screen. It would save time from having to select a different amount of the items which you are trading or wanting to get. Thanks for the consideration!

As we all know, the game moves slow, so there is too much time spent staring at buildings and watching your settlers run into each other without being harmed. As we all also know, there are way too many annoying deer wandering about, and wolves that never hunt them. I suggest making a mini-game using both of these flaws. Each one of us would have a gun, and to make bullets, you have to make them in the prov house from bronze. When you have your ammo, you hunt the deer and the wolves. Deer provides 2 meat per kill and wolves 1 meat(just suggestion, can b any amount). You do not hit 100% of the time, only when you actually hit the deer/wolf(meaning you can miss). This allows people to get meat without it being free. It allows people to kill time while waiting(building, troops, prov house ect.) and you can finally hunt all those annoying deer that bug u 24/7.

Before adding anything else new. Let us fix a few odd things. 1)License is spelled L-i-c-e-n-s-e not L-i-c-e-n-c-e. 2)Mapping! If you make one of every chain properly. You have 3x's more stone, marble, copper, and iron mines then needed, However coal is in the toilet. Need to add a few more coal mines and lower the search time to find them. 3)Since the last update email and the building queue seem flaky and slow. Need to fix that.

Remember rule #1 in game development! PLAY TEST BEFORE YOU RELEASE! If your not playing the game your developing then your only wasting time.

This is an awesome game but it needs some modifications such as users battle, conquering other islands which will make this game more advanced

I would like a feature that allows me to send all needed troops to adventure all in one shot...and not having to spend all that time shipping them over...plus when adventure is done I would like to know how many troops are coming home both with the generals sent and the ones coming back on their own..that would make rebuilding them that much easier.

I would also like to be able to move the garrison window out of the way or shrink it abit so when I need to use the retreat button I can also see where my general is...

Also...would it be possible to expand the mail window...

and guild storage, so that the guilds can hold lotteries and such without it all going into one members storage to be given to new players or lotto games...

Sons of the Veldt needs better loot and/or another loot spot (3-player gives it a quick 50% loot boost). A third player and a 2nd expert slot would bring it almost balanced.

A few Suggestionsfor The Settlers Online…

Make a “Buff Me” flag for tracking Buffs and indicating to other players what building needs buffing and in what priority Buffs should be done.

Display the Timer Bars for both initiating players’ and invited players’ General(s) travel times on the on-screen Adventure Tab and Quest Log (Quest Book).

Allow trading of all items in the game (between players and in the Trade Tab) including decorations, towers, etc.

Allow trading of up-graded residences and other deeded buildings so that the up-graded status is not lost when a deed is exchanged.

Provide a quick option in the Provision House to convert Overgrown Ruins, Stone Statues, Collapsed Walls, etc. to Marble and/or Granite.

Provide a reasonably quick and easy 24 hour Buff option in the Provision House and/or make Buffs stackable on a building so that they add together in duration.

Provide more Deposit drops or options in the Provision House to convert Deposits, especially for Mined Resources such as Coal, Copper, Iron,etc.

Make Roads fit without interfering with potential placement of other structures such as buildings and decorations and provide an option for roads to be placed off of the grid system’s constraints.

Fix the open area dead space in Sector 1 of the Home Island southwest of the Mayors House to allow placement of structures such as buildings and decorations there.



A few Suggestionsfor Expansion of The Settlers Online…

If there is an expansion make it compatible with the existing game. If Player vs. Player is to be part of the expansion make it optional for both individuals and guilds to participate in without jeopardizing the existing game play or their home island.

COMMENT: I have no interest in starting over after having spent so much time and money trying to progress to level 50 to be ready for an expansion. If Ubisoft makes the choice of forcing players into “the you must start over route” for an expansion they will be indicating that their profits matter more than their customers that play their games and I, for one, will rapidly lose interest in supporting such a choice indicating an unrestrained agenda of corporate greed!

Improve chat by allowing users to create their own predefined channels:

For example, people holding auctions would be better off holding auctions in a more private channel with vs. competing against the entire global chat.

Thing One:
I think SkRiPtD read my mind. Specifically, I would love to see a "Friend Chat." A channel where all my friends can see what I type, and I can see what any of my friends type. The social aspect of this game is important, and it is increasingly hard to stay in touch with all the friends we make as we continue along in the game. This might be easier to implement than a full-blown flexible channel (just auto-iggie anyone not on a player's friends list ...), and would promote socialization. Might give the higher levels a nice vehicle for staying more active in the game.

Thing Two:
Dynamic Adventures. I'm going to try the 2-birds-one-stone thing here ... The guild quests have been discussed, and are not interesting in their current incarnation. Another topic is that the adventures are static. Once you figure out the formula, it's just "lather, rinse, repeat ..." How about: make a new "adventure" every week, something always different. Something that is hard enough that many players would need to cooperate to finish it within the time allowed. Make that the "guild quest". That has the potential to be a huge amount of fun, plus, the ones that turn out to be particularly popular might be morphed into new standard adventures ...

please make the guild list show online status too like the friend list does

1st level: 'Contact' access to island only. Cannot send trades or gifts.

2nd level: 'Friends' access to island and can send trades or gifts.
