great idea etarip could be very helpfull when refilling my fish deposit with the million fish deposit i have made in the provision house
BB_meesherbeans said to move suggestions to here, so I do:
Here is the first suggestion I posted in the wrong thread
First my obvious question, which I beg you not be offended for my posting here. I just do since someone needs to include it here:
I am stuck on these two quests since I cleared all the bandits in my home zone before it appeared, and so cannot complete them:
First, First Strike Units, Tactician - Defeat a bandit camp in your home zone with 50 cavalry.
Second, Militia, The Militia - Defeat a bandit camp in your home zone with 50 militia.
If I could buy from the merchant a weak bandit camp, with no reward for defeating it, for say fish, I could easily accommodate these quests without your doing extensive programming.
As a second benefit, your screenshot and other contests would become quite interesting if players could cheaply, temporarily buy such a camp.
If it is a problem I waive all rights to anything for suggesting this if you employ it. I just want to help you in gratitude for providing this game.
Here is the second suggestion I posted in the wrong thread
Second, my request I really hope you will accommodate. I submitted it without response, and hoped I would do well enough in the Valentine contest to ask it be reconsidered.
Please consider adding a second save. With the first save, players play their long-term game. But with the second save, when used, the first save freezes (so fish stocks don’t expire, etc.), and the player can start from the beginning.
When I owned the disc version and played on my home computer, I loved starting from the beginning so that I could use what I learned from prior plays. I beg you allow that here as well. It would be wonderful to have the option of continuing my long-term save or starting anew, with the unused one frozen so that fish stocks, etc. are not adversely affected. There is so much I have learned that I would love to start anew to implement, especially where I place my first buildings. I would also love to switch one of those second saved games into the long-term save slot, if I ended up doing well with it.
I ask for one addition. It would get discouraging to keep replaying from the start without a reward for doing so. I suggest if a player uses the second save, and reaches a designated level such as Level 32, on the next restart he begins with one of these three: Jolly Geologist, Savage Scout, or Battle Hardened General. If he replays three times to the designated level, he begins with all three subsequently.
If it is a problem I waive all rights to anything for suggesting this if you employ it. I just want to help you in gratitude for providing this game.
Here is my third suggestion I sent to someone, probably support, on the day I joined:
Please allow players to build a structure, if they choose to do so.
Inside there are lists of movie previews, TV show previews, and songs by bands, all shortened to exactly three minutes.
Those are submitted to you for a fee.
Each time the player plays three of them in full, he earns one gold coin.
Each time he plays one, the structure remembers and marks it as having been viewed.
This structure allows players to earn coins during the time they wait for buildings to be built, etc. There are many 2 to 3 minute periods of time a player waits for something to get done. That time could be used utilizing this structure, for players who want to use it.
Those buying the right to place previews and songs there are guaranteed views by a certain demographic. If the fee is not exorbitant, many bands desperate for notice should love to place their best two songs there.
If just one song becomes a hit thanks to your doing the above, it should bring you deserved notoriety. It just takes players learning about the song in the structure, then bringing it up on You Tube to start a frenzy there. In the meantime, the structure should bring you ad revenue.
I think I read about this being done in a game a long time ago. I cannot recall for certain. But you could easily check if you are allowed to do it, and whether it is feasible.
how bout showing how many of each troop your making in barracks so you can calc what you need for an adventure
MrGrimm - You know right now where you attack a camp on an adventure and after launching, you can click your general and a crossed swords symbol appears on that camp you targeted, thus showing which camp you're actually attacking?
I think it'd be an easy and good idea if when you do an adventure with other people, if I for example click on another persons general that they sent off to attack a specific camp, that the crossed swords would appear on their attack camp too. Reasoning? If i invited a rather junior person, during mentoring, I could insure they targeted the right camp and not get slaughtered lol.
Here is my fourth suggestion.
I buff certain buildings each time.
It would be extremely helpful if I could change the roof color to another color, say to slate blue or to burnished copper.
Then I need but look for those roofs to know which buildings I routinely buff.
I also would not neglect to buff my intended buildings when I make my rounds through them.
How about medi packs for the gens in the guild market or available for gems?
For short reading - read the green.
For the entire suggestion - read the blue.
1. Provide us with an in-game calendar. It should be able to serve as a guild calendar too, if the player is in a guild. It's not fun getting your mail box spammed by guildies about event reminders and such. It also kinda sucks not knowing when game events start and end. The calendar will help guild leaders/officers to plan/carry out guild events. It'll also assist players by helping them keep track of game events.
2. Give us an in-game clock with an alarm feature. This is the kind of game that you can go afk on for a lengthy amount of time. It's also the kind of game that can have a handful of things going on at once. The alarm creates additional ways to monitor various game events/actions.
3. Make the guild's member roster sortable by a criteria other than level, such as: alphabetical, online/offline, rank...etc. Maybe even allow officer notes to be added by/to certain people. It can become difficult to find certain guild mates when you're in a guild with 30 members or more. A more organized roster is very user friendly.
4. Make the all, friends, and guild row able to be arranged in orders other than level such as: alphabetical, online/offline, custom...etc. Maybe even allow notes to be added to friends and fellow guild mates here too. It's very aggitating when you can't find the person you're looking for. This game promotes sharing and helping one another, it should be easy to do so. Making that row easier to organize advances player productivity.
5. Currently, the roads are a bit tedious to lay, connect, and clean up/destroy. I agree they should not improve the economy while they remain free, however please make the tool easier to use. More people might use the road feature if it's easier to use. Right not it may not seem worth it to even play around with because there's no incentive to it and because it's not easy to use. Improving the road tool would be nice for those who use roads a ton.
6. Create shoreline buildings, or create new structures that can be built on the water. There's a good handful of ocean territory that can be incorporated into the island/game. Expanding the different options for buildings makes it look like there's no boundaries for players. This is an exciting aspect of any game!
7. The news feed chat is great. It would be even better if the broadcasts had click-able links that would open up accordingly to the alert. Instead of only allowing that alert to be opened when you're online and can catch it before it vanishes. For example: 1.) when your geologist discovers a new mine or one depleats the link will take you to the location of the mine via the link in the news feed. 2.) if your provision house finishes making your buffs, the news link could open the star menu and highlight the finished stack of that buff. 3.) when your trained units are ready for duty, clicking that link in the news feed can bring you to your garrison or maybe your barracks. .. etc. Having the news feed chat allow you to click on the alerts will greatly increase player productivity and makes the entire game more user friendly.
8. Give us more decorations. Can't go wrong with a larger selection of decorative items! Having more decorative items can open up even more fun things to do! You'd be surprised what actitivies people can come up with cool decorations.
9. If there's ever an idea to seriously incorporate a "report player" system in-game, it should be easy to do so. Such as adding this option to the already present menu that appears when you click on a players name. For obvious reasons, the current system isn't bad. (having to submit a ticket..etc) Allowing an in-game report player feature isn't necessary for game play optimization, it's just nice sometimes.
10. I believe it's extremely beneficial to the entire game community, and to the games revenue, that players cannot turn off the chat language filter. All opinions aside, it's important to keep the game open to a large audience and allowing it to be turned off would do more harm than good. There's a reason businesses don't allow that language, and it's a good reason. My personal opinion, I hope the developers never change the filter in ways that would hurt the game. Being able to turn off the filter doesn't bring anything good to the table. I commend you guys for keeping the game's atmosphere an enjoyable one.
Just my thoughts! Great job dev team, keep up the awesome work! We appreciate you.
Thank you for providing us with the opportunity to present our ideas!
Request for new "General Type"
"Admiral"
- Can transport 500 troops to adventure zone (or 400 or whatever)
- As an expert sea-goer.. Travels to zone in 10 minutes (or 5 minutes)
- Lands on Water Tiles
- Can not battle enemy
Solves the problem of loading tonnes of different troops onto many generals
Doing the work of 2+ BHG, could be competitively priced as so.
Also another cool Water Tile feature like the Floating Houses.
I have seen a number of posts about allowing geos to refill a deposit, rather than requiring that it run dry. One thought (that may have already been proposed - if so my apologizes, but it's a long thread!) on a middle-ground option is to have a second tier of searches named something like "extend vein" or "search for deeper vein." The successful attempt could add an amount (static value or some % of fresh mine's capacity - I would think 33%). The difference is, the option could take longer (2 or 3 times longer than discovery?) and could potentially cost a small fee.
For example, finding an iron vein takes 1 hour and 250/250/200 to build the mine and has a capacity of 1000 ore. "Extend the vein" could take 3 hours, cost 100/100/100, have a success rate of 66%, and when successful, adds 300 ore to the mine. so, it's a little more expensive to extend, but you don't have to pay or take the time for upgrades. Obviously all the rates and amounts could vary to where you think them fair.
Ideally, we would be able to target it to a particular mine, not a random deposit, but either way would be okay, imho.
Thank you, BB, for a great game. I've been playing well over a year now, and really love it (notwithstanding the occasional frustration when things don't always work right, but that's everywhere, not just in the game.)
I have two suggestions:
1. Please make it so a person buffing a friend's island can mouse over a running buff on a building and see how long it is until the buff runs out. I know we can look at our own buildings and see how long is left, but it doesn't help a friend who is buffing, if we aren't online to tell them how much time is left on the buff.
2. Access to the game through an Android app. I know others have suggested iPhone/iPad apps, but I would love to be able to get to my game through my Android phone when I'm not at home or my computer is otherwise occupied.
Thank you. Keep up the great work! :-)
I've made a suggestion about STAR TAB INDEX.
It was late when i Wrote the thread and dint saw the Suggestion Thread
You can chek the suggestion on this link:
http://forum.thesettlersonline.net/t...dex-Suggestion
Sorry for not posting the suggestion here.
I wish you best of luck
Your all making a trade tab for chat , but it would also be really nice to have a friend chat tab and an adventure chat tab
the Yippie popup does take you to the find but it fades too fast if you're otherwise engaged.
Wow there's a lot of stuff to read through in this thread. I did a quick search for this idea but didn't see one through what I searched. I'm pretty sure no one though of it though since it's kind of a wild idea.
Player submitted adventures
Allow players to design adventure islands with decoration and bandit sets to keep a cohesive look and feel to adventures. This could be done on a separate server like for the test server.
Suggestions on available options:
• Option to choose between different types of adventures. (Scary, snowy, desert, etc.) This would set the tone and would decide on what building sets are available for that particular adventure.
• Option for the difficulty of this adventure. This will set the minimum and maximum amount of bandit HP/XP to add to the adventure. It will also decide on the minimum and maximum amount of bandits allowed per camp and how many leaders can reside in each sector and in total on the map.
• Option to choose between XP, resources, epic, etc. This will set the limits for the adventure completion rewards.
• Terrain premade shapes with plain sand, grass and water tiles to fill in possible gaps
• Mountain shapes, river sections, trees
• Decoration sets (The available decorations would be decided depending on the type of adventure chosen at the start)
• Bandit sets (Again, different according to type chosen at start)
The bandit camp graphic should be determined by the bandits it contains.
Hours to complete adventure should also be automatically set depending on which options were chosen at the start and how many bandits were placed on the island; as should the number of players allowed in the adventure.
Adventure story could be filled in or not. Not everyone is a great story teller but since they’re already playing the game and designing their own island, there’s a good chance they’d be good at designing the adventure island.
Before the adventure could be submitted it would have to pass a certain set of rules and limits so as to not waste staff member time looking at adventures that are less than adequate.
Once submitted the adventure will then be looked over. If the software did its job the person looking it over will not have to worry too much about how fair the adventure is according to the options chosen at the start. If the story line is good then that will make their job easier. If not then they will need to get a good story line and voila, a brand new adventure.
Edit: Of course if your adventure is chosen as an official adventure, it would be nice to get a little bonus for all that work on the Zeus/Ares server.
An ignore trader option would be nice to weed out some of the crazies that just post dumb trades over and over.
1.Revamp the "star menu" stack the same items allowing a choice to how many total number of items to add to your current inventory. for example: I have 25 icons of 1250 tools. can't you stack them all showing 25x1250 = 31250 and when placing on mayors house type in how many to add to the inventory.
2. Trade between guild members in history of TO
3. More member lvls of guilds
After the Four Winds Quest debacle, I thought about ways to introduce luck without having it overwhelm the game:
The Olympians visit The Settlers
Every day, there is a small chance that one Greek deity will pay a visit to our game. Most days will be normal, but if a god(dess) shows up, the gameplay will be affected. Sometimes in ways that are good, and sometimes not-so-good. After all, the Greek gods had their flaws.
Zeus is the king of the gods. When he visits, he shares his bounty with his subjects. Everyone receives an Enhanced Fruit Basket.
Aphrodite is the goddess of love. When she shows up, love is in the air. Population growth is doubled for the entire day.
Hephaestus is the god of metalworking. On that day, the production of smelters is doubled.
Demeter is the goddess of the harvest. Everyone receives a Packed Wheat Field.
Athena is the goddess of wisdom, and she favors the advanced buildings. All expert buildings (after the E-Sawmill) have their production tripled. At last those expensive worthless decorations are finally worth something!
Artemis is the huntress. All hunters production is doubled.
Posiedon is the god of the sea. Unfortunately he only comes here when he is angry, and sends storms that chase your fisherman back to port. No fish production today. Don't look like that! He could just as easily have sent a tsunami that washed away your floating houses.
Ares is the god of war. All generals function as 250 generals today. Everyone gets to see what it's like to have a veteran on this day.
Apollo is a powerful god who shares his knowledge and experience. All adventures completed today receive a 25% bonus to XP.
Hades is the god of the underworld and the earth's hidden wealth. The production of all mines and quarries is doubled.
Hermes is the wily god of commerce. But he is angry, and the Trade Office is shut down all day. You may still trade with friends and guild members.
Hera is the queen of the gods. She is sick and tired of her husband's philandering, and casts a spell that reduces population growth by 50% for the entire day.
Daphne is a wood nymph. The production of all foresters is doubled.
Dionysus is the god of wine making. Production is doubled at all breweries and friaries.
Persephone is the daughter of Demeter, and has to spend half of her life underground with Hades. Farm production is reduced by 50%.
The Naiades are water nymphs. When they come calling, the production of all water mills is doubled.
Eris is the goddess of chaos and discord. Rats may get into your silos or thieves steal your copper...whatever mischief she is up to, you lose 1K of a random Intermediate resource. This may be reduced or eliminated for players below level 26.
This is not meant to be an exhaustive list of all Greek gods, nor is there an effect on every single building in the game. It's a way to spice up the game within the existing framework without requiring any additional content or massive reprogramming. The effects of doubling or halving production can be additive instead of multiplying with other buffs to avoid going overboard with huge production gains. This introduces an element of chance in a way that isn't completely arbitrary. It's the same for everyone, but those players whose islands are more self-sufficient have a better chance to weather the storms and take advantage of the opportunities.
Here's another idea, and one I'm sure others have already suggested, but here goes:
Granite quarries. Getting granite solely from explorers is a pain, and the cost in the Trade House is prohibitive. Give us a couple of granite quarries on our islands. They don't have to be real fast, but it would be nice to have them there working, kind of like the gem pits.
Thank you.
I know this has been mentioned before but it wouldn't be very hard to do. A run while buffed option so that a building only runs while it is buffed.
This may have been previously submitted -- I only went back 6 months on the previous suggestions -- and if so, I apologize. However, it would be helpful if our mailboxes also had an option for "sent" mail. Thanks, and thank you for a great game.
I have to assume this has been suggested in the past but some way to implement an upgrade that let's you queue troops and fish/meat deposits in larger groups would definitely make the game more fun and less tedious. I imagine it would support the long term players base to have it as a high level upgrade that costs a lot resources such as granite and titanium bars. Alternatively or additionally it would likely be quite profitable to have it as a gem purchase.
Please , an option to pin star menu
I already love this game, but I would be ecstatic if we could build, a few buildings , like shipwright, sail maker, dry dock, and build ships to do adventures with...we already have carpenters and cannons...
was wondering if you could include gem production in economy overview, just got a gem pit... i can do the math on my own to figure out how much i make per 12hr, i just think it would be a cool feature in economy overview is alll
Could you add housing to the economy overview. We can see all the other buildings and there levels. We can also click on a building and go to it. I'd like to be able to do that with houses and it would be easier to count them. Thank you
Fish should replenish if the area is not being actively fished just like real life.
Make Geologist reports in the mail like the Explorer. A way to tell if we are at the max number of mines so we do not waste Geo search time.
I saw a few posts with this idea so I just want to +1 it and elaborate a little. GUILD STORAGE!
Key points:
1. Every member of the guild should be able to donate all types of resources, buffs, and misc (adventures, special buildings, etc.)
2. The Guild leader/overseers should be able to grant access to guild members, to make withdraws from the guild storage.
3. The guild storage should be part of the Guild House or a new building that can only be built by the leader of the guild.
4. There should be a quick access shortcut on the Star menu toolbar and can be accessed by visiting the leader and left-clicking on it.
5. It should be upgradable for 5 levels and any member should be able to pay for an upgrade by accessing it.
6. All members and outside players should be able to donate to a guild's storage.
I think it would be really helpful if we could have arrows to move things up and down the queue in the barracks and the provision house, like the ones that are already available on the build queue.
What about special events for guilds? Items every once in awhile that are available to purchase for a limited time for guild coins only? And/or are a reward for a certain number of members completing quests
Actually having a guild quest again would be nice. Gens hasn't had one in a month. Numerous tickets, nothing works.
It seems that the explorers are taking 24.5 hrs to find stuff. The regular explorers are taking 2 days and an hour. They keep showing up later and later. It's annoying when I have to send them out for shorter quests for stuff I don't need, not to mention I get less eggs if any. Thanks
1. Change guild rankings from 4 to possible 8.
http://www1.picturepush.com/photo/a/...d-rankings.png
2. Increase the number of avatar icons at bottom of home screen to 10.
I'm wondering if it would be possible to "color code" the tents for various generals, Example: Veteran general could be Red, Battle Hardened Blue and Regular General Green. This would make it easier to locate them faster on the maps and to get the proper general to the desired location correctly. Maybe even a different flag or something. Thanks for your consideration.
Bender2012.
here's a suggestion....don't break the game after every event
lol ur busy G_F_M, lol this is SOOOO funny watching you, its better than playing the actual game lol
I try bro
