What i do is this. save my gems for Parrots. tryto keep my mines as full as possible. then Sleep the mines and offer to buy Gold Ore in TT.
So far its working fine but only time will tell if players will sell Gold Ore for a decent price.

I rely mostly on gold deposits from adventures, but then again, I'm not concerned with running my gold chain 24-7. But, between the depos from adventures as well as gold bars from Old Friends and Motherly Love, I've yet to have to buy any parrots or the like. That being said, they'll probably roll back the servers to a point where no one had gold chain yet. lol Welcome back to Tutorial, Zeus!
