Not a complaint at all, just pointing out my specific scenario.
My hunter is level 2 (produces 2 meat) with 408 seconds production time.
My butcher is level 1 (uses 4 meat) with 760 seconds production time. I should be losing meat slowly at about 6 meat per hour, but I am actually gaining meat slowly. Just seems like it isnt calculating properly.

Funny - I have the same parameters, and my butcher is always waiting for his next shank . . .
Not sure. Seems to be flip-flopping currently. Sometimes going up, sometimes going down.... oh well :)
how do i get my hunte to hunt? he is only 3 inches away from the meat
