This law is solid stone. Corporations and private citizens alike are required, by law, to respect this unabridged guarentee and it is the responsability of the people to make sure it is enforced.
While i think it's great that your administrative staff is trying to maintain organization and fair gameplay, none of the employees of your comany, or your company as an entity has any right to infringe upon the law. By your own rules no less.
There was a recent incident where an administrator, in game, became over-zealous with his omnipotent banning powers and began to dictate which topics could and could not, respectively, be discussed. By the letter of United States Law, this admin created victims out of every american citizen in participation at the time.
Now, i'm in no way, the kind of person who has the time, dedication or desire to persue such a legal reprisal, but if the liability continues, it's just a matter of time until some rich, aarogant lawer invested person takes a stand.
What does this mean and why am i even saying it? Because sometimes corporations attempt to implement policy or rule that they are not legally entitled. This creates a huge liability for a company and is the leading cause of bankruptcy for small up and coming game design companies.
I would hate, more than anything, to see that happen in this case. Do what you like. At least i put it out there.
