[Adventure Guides] by Starfire

Revised 2-29-11 to include better links to the high resolution pictures, to add awards tables, and to clean up a few adventures according to player suggestions. In particular, Dark Priests got quite a bit better


--This series of guides are for those who are a bit higher level and have access to Soldiers and Longbows. With access to Soldiers and Longbows, there is little reason to use Bowmen and Militia and these guides will reflect that. They also focus on absolutely minimizing losses to everything but recruits. All battles have been simulated with German Combat Sim to 500 battles in order to get the correct range of losses.

--While basic positioning is available, it will be assumed that you know how to avoid some enemy camps (notated with "--- skip"). Newer guides don't even bother to reference skipped camps since it just clutters the guide.
--these guides are intended to be Compact guides With limited lines.
--Abbreviations will be heavily used.

It's simply fantastic all the work you've done on these! My favorite information is the XP gained per loss, will help people level up efficiently and determine which adventures are worth more than others, which ones to sell and which to save.

indeed, nice work but you must also factor not all advens are designed for experience like pirates for example which is great for loot drop and attaining exotic logs and/or granite. There are 3 adven types atm, experience based, reward based, and epic. Another factor is finding more efficient ways to do advens with less loss. My guild has made several guides and some are way more efficient than some of the current german guides even.

heh, I should sell that Guide for a Nord's Adventure. Its not quite done and I wanted to verify a few things to see if I can do it better but I don't yet have another of that Adventure. But the 33 rating is so significantly different than anything else, that I need to double check everything.

That's probably pretty accurate Starfire. I optimized as much as I could using xbowmen and there aren't very many losses at all (total 550-600) which includes bowmen/militia/recruits. Goes to show why it's so expensive to obtain from others.

Any comment on the new colors in the 2nd post. I will be gone over the weekend but after I get back, I can apply them quickly to the other guides.

Out of all the threads in this forum, this thread and its links is the only one I have found to be a worthwhile read.

Nice job, Starfire. I wish you'd add in sets of rewards for the adventures, though. Experience rewards are only interesting for Experience Adventures, in my opinion.

Ya, rewards vary quite a bit... They are all posted on the german forums. Tables have been imported and added to the bottom of each guide. Further, I will start adding blocking to the guides as I have now figured out the basics.

New Adventure Guides?

Well we need some new battle configs since the new 250 general is available too.

i just completed witch with 326r loss and 70calv... so yeah all the guides are going to need updated :)

i know these are all kind of old... i was wonder how accurate they still are?.. i notice that in Island of Pirates... it's says 3days, but it's only 2 now...?

Why is "Dark Priests" list as 14.99 XP per loss with 367 lost, when the Guide show 8.11 XP per loss with 777 lost?

the battle plans will still work, so from that stand point they are accurate. There are different input and output variables, like using the 250 general (reduces losses) your goal for the fight outcome (say minimum number of losses vs minimum value of lost troops vs only losing recruits or bowman). So the guides will still clear the island but you can shift what your outcome goals are.

To illustrate, I produce enough steel swords per day that I can lose 25 soldiers and replace them. Now say by losing 25 soldiers i save 100 recruits (just a round number, not any fight in particular). I can replace 25 units easier than 100 so i might consider losing that number. The value in this example is 25 S (assigned value of 6, various sources) = 150 value of losses, 100 R (assigned value of 1.25, same sources) = 125. But I am more willing to replace 25 then 100 units so I chose to lose 25. Does that mean the guide which suggests losing one number or the other is wrong - no, just that for me I chose a different set of goals then the guide.

It is after all a Guide not the only way to do it. so use this as a starting point and make your own numbers.

Great job with ur guides Starfire a little tweak on the battle sim and account for pathing changes here and there spot on
