Multiple Geologist searching for the same deposit

Just for giggles I sent two geologists out to find a iron deposit. I knew that I only had one within my limit which could be found.

they both came back and said a deposit was found... only the expected one was found... evidently, they found the same deposit.

It this intentional or should the second geologist have responded with no more can be found at this time, as what happens when you have already reached your limit for that deposit?

I have yet to send two geologist have stone deposits when there are multiple open to see if the find the same one or different ones.

My experience is that if multiple deposits are there to be found, they will be found.
I have sent 6 at a time to find 6 depleted marble.

Then I will take another look at it.
