How to ask people questions in the scrolling chat box on left

Hi,
I notice that people ask questions and receive answers right away in the little box on the left? How do I use this?

You type in your question, and wait for the answer. It gets tough when you have people that types over your question. Then, you'd have to pick out the answers by people who care to answer. Worse, sometimes the answer is not even a good one and you end up not getting your question answered.

You just type your entries in the box below that chat and hit enter. then you can chat with other players :)

Thanks very much. I'm such a dope that I didn't notice the little text box under all the tabs (help, whisper, news...)! Thanks again...now I can ask a bunch of other silly questions!
