Between coking plants, bow makers and sawmills I'm using over 17k logs per day. with the limited amount of licenses you get by claiming new sectors I have not been able to keep up. Any suggestions?

1. Close down bowmakers - I don't know how many you have but if you've been running them for a while you should have plenty of bows to last you for ages.
2. Recycling plants
Other than that, you're right - it's a lot of wood needed to run a good island!
you can also work in regular buffs for the coking plants, coal mines and/or the firwood cutters. it also helps to upgrade as many of your chains as possible.
I don't even use normal Bowmakers, later you'll switch cokers with much faster coal mines, and my sawmills don't nearly hit that much at level 32
You can upgrade your coakers to level 4 and buff them for more coal and less wood used.
