Explorers

How many explorers/savage explorers can you have max? Is it worth it to start buying these early from the taverns or when should you start?
Also on a side note, are the savage scouts you buy from the shop using gems tradeable?

You can have 10 x Savage Scouts total. (not tradeable)
Not sure how many regular Explorers you can have, I only have 2 of them. I think the 3rd one from the Tavern costs 1600 Gold Pieces and I have not bothered buying it yet.

In my opinion after you buy your first General, you should work towards buying another Explorer. The Medium Treasure Hunts will get you Marble and Hardwood Planks and that helps a lot in the 20's where you burn through a lot of Marble and Hardwood Planks. When you reach level 26 you can start doing Adventure Searches and the more Scouts you send out, the better chance you have to come back with Adventures, which are required to advance once you clear your island. Can not have too many many Scouts/Explorers.

Edit: From what I have seen, there should be an Easter Scout available on March 29th. Acts just like a Savage Scout.

Explorers are just useful for adventures and treasure.

actually this is false. you cannot gift explorers to other players. the only way to obtain them is by purchasing them yourself through the gem shop.

That sucks, so non-paying gem buyers are stuck with at most 3 explorers...
