Someone Please manage Global Chat

I'm new with this US server, I've been played on UK server, reason I'm looking for another is because amount of delay, and uptime, so far it's good

but the downside is, everything is so mess up on global chat 1

Trades, Politics, drugs, beverages, weed, drugs, ENDLESS CAPSLOCK HAMMER. (ow did I mention drugs twice yes it is.)
unlike UK server in here I never seen any mods manage it, heck no one seems bothered with it. I even never seen any mods speak.

so Please I beg you. Assign someone to clean the mess.

There are moderators who do police chat. They are endlessly harassed by some juvenile members of this game, and their jobs are made that much harder by this bunch. I'm all for some harsher penalties (i.e. longer duration bans from global chat) when they purposely run afoul of the moderators for kicks.

Do a search on global chat, you will see this is constantly brought up and BB doesn't care. They have had plenty of time to get a handle on this and have failed to. Global chat is chasing players away, BB seems to be like "whatever".

As with most games I've played I typically stay out of global for that very reason. If you dont like trolls stay out of the troll cage would be my best advice. There's idiots everywhere and just being an idiot isnt generally a bannable offense.

The overall level of customer service is extremely low... and that "beta" tag has always bothered me... its been a year, is this game ever going to come out of "beta" or is that just a convenient excuse to not deliver the level of service a customer would expect from a finished product? Also - if it's really "beta" why do they have a micro-transaction revenue model live already? I can't think of another "beta" game that I've had to pay to play competitively in...

I do understand everyone's frustrations with global chat, we are currently looking for solutions to fix this. As the current team in place is MistaPink and myself we do try to get into chat as much as possible to keep it clean and fun for everyone.

If we are currently not in chat, please send us a support ticket with the offenders name, what they did, what time it was said, if you have screen shots please send that as well, or copy and paste the messages into the ticket, we don't need the whole conversation but just a piece. We can still remove the disruptive players from future use of the chat service.

I would like to apologize for not being able to provide a clean environment to play in. I can promise you that we are working towards a solution for this situation.

This answer is the same answer we have been getting for months, and it is no longer sufficient. It doesn't take months to select staff (or players if needed) to monitor and police chat. The game is 24/7, monitoring needs to be 24/7. And asking players to report it isn't the way to solve the situation either. Plenty of times I make a report and NOTHING happens.
BB has allowed Global chat to become a sewer free-for-all. If I had pre-teens, I wouldn't let them anywhere near this game, as there is no way to turn global off. Community makes up a huge portion of playing this game, why bother to play if the community is nothing but aggression and filth.

of all the things that could be worked on, this is the least of my concerns. global chat is optional, yes its annoying to see the constant spam, political, religious and juvenile discussion topics, but i can always minimize it or switch to another channel. the devs are working on it, but tbh, i'd rather have them fix existing bugs, improve trade mechanics and introduce pvp than focus their time on monitoring who said what in chat.

I have been playing on the UK server Northisle for a month. They have player mods and a Pegi-7 (G-Rating).
The mods there STILL have to constantly work to maintain any order. The chat environment is cleaner, but it feels rather oppressive at times.
Mods can decide that they do not want a topic of conversation to carry on and deem it closed. This could be ANY discussion, not just prohibited ones.
The mods are constantly being attacked for being biases and unfair. So half the chat discussion is about freedom of speech rights being violated and people citing the rules.
Then you have the mod baiting trolls who want to get banned. That means a Mod showing up just creates a stir.
Add to that all the Non-Mod players who decide to act like mods in a rude and bossy manner and the "clean" chat is also driving people away in droves.
This is like a lose/lose situation.
The bottom line is that we, as players, can /addignore people or simply stay out of global.
I would like to see ignore added to the sub-menu that opens when you click a players name.

All that being said, my experiences with customer service have been excellent.

Unless you are in a guild, then you can't simply stay out of global. You need that community to swap buffs and trades. Most guilds do not let sub 17's in. The option to ignore and report aren't put anywhere in the game. Unless someone asks, players don't know this option exists.
I will agree with the sub-menu thing. It boggles the mind why this is last on the list of things to fix.

The mods aren't the same people as the devs. And taking chat mods off of moderation doesn't increase the amount of devs nor make their work go any faster. And money from customers sticking around is required to pay the devs.

It would probably be 90% cleaner with just the removal from chat of the same 3 people voraciously encouraging hate and murder of various minorities day after day, and just doing that can't be THAT difficult that it takes weeks/months of time to sort out.

ahh, i didn't realize BB_MrGrimm and BB_Mistapink were just chat mods, as these are the staff i've seen monitoring chat in the past. i figured with a title like Lead Game Master they worked more in a dev capacity. silly me.

If there are events and such they're probably involved in those too, as well as support. It's just not likely they do any development work besides maybe relay feedback or test some things if you count those unless they were in a very small company which Ubisoft is not.

Global chat is beyond just "juvenile discussion" and even getting into "kill <non-white skin color> people" territory though.

I think everyone is a little too sensitive and needs to stop crying like a bunch of little babies. It's a game people it's not real life.

The help channel is usually a quiet place where there is chit chat but new players can come and get help swapping buffs. We even trade with newbies although once they pass the the 3 trades of 50 resources for a quest level, we start requesting they strictly use the TO. Usually it's free of the trolls, and usually there are no BBs either, normally because they are not needed. Did see Suseriously in the Ares help on Tuesday, and it's really amusing to watch younger
people fawn over Mods like they are gods and goddesses. I know they do their best, but after watching for a long long time, you can see the mods really have little control over the game itself. Chat perhaps, but it's not as if they're the ones who write code.
Once in a great while there will be disturbances. 5 of us had to report player aryan555 yesterday for disruptive and abusive behavior, but this is rare, so players not in guilds are welcomed and generally not subject to distractions.
So as said before: no one MUST use global; the mods are not omnipotent; everyone has an /addignore option; and this is just a game.
Oh, and whomever said most guilds require that you be level 17 before joining, 1) many guilds require a TO, which is now a lower level and 2) many guilds also accept juveniles. So perhaps it is MOST as I have no way of quantifying, but certainly it is not ALL.

I have been here since beta and I avoid global chat. My mature guildmates hold my interest all day long.

The problem isn't with the BB's that is a cop out. The real issue is that there isn't enough of them present. I've seen global-1 be terrible when the BB isn't there and then be so nice once their presence is known. It's not a bad idea to have a constructive discussion on most subjects as long as it is keep on the point. The problem is that it's pushed beyond a friendly discussion so I'm sure that is why politics and general interests are banned. You act like an infant you'll be treated like one. If the BB's are guilty of anything it's not by attempting to contain the chat. Sometimes they need to just clean house and give ppl a 1hr cooling off period. Disable their chat for an 1hr but still able to play their game. If it persist then a ban and a 3rd instance perm ban. 1, 2, 3 and you're out. Yes they will make another account but you can only deal with 1 at a time. The development planners of Ubisoft have to take some heat for this as well. They need to create the tools to make the BB's more effective. Instead they throw them to the wolves, it's not that difficult to create tools in game to manage the game better! geez I manage developers for a living and they can do amazing things given the chance.

Let's just do our best.

i agree with most of this statement. i do not agree to a 1 hour ban for the first offense though. and it is true that developers can do miracles with the proper push. it's just finding out what button needs to be pushed to get them in motion.

BB's don't monitor global-1 chat very much. Its as simple as that.

That and there is VERY little consistency in terms of rule enforcement.

Sad, that those days are over since some players just join help to blame the helping ppl and encourage new players to start foul language and harrassment there. And I currently really can't see, that BB is doing a good job on getting this under control. It's been that worse for some days, that there are players who only need to show their presence and all regular helpers quit almost immidiatly to get rid of further harrassment.

BB hasn't even reacted on someone calling US Vets "Babykillers" in Trade-Tab, so I can definitly understand that ppl want a bit more moderation and higher penelties on public chats.

Please pay attention to the most recent post date and what has already been said before necroing a thread.

4. Ask community members, nicely, to take their chat somewhere private and don't engage.

We depend on everyone to help build an awesome community (which we have) and hope that we will be able to better address your concerns.

What we will do:

1. BB_Effiluna and I will make sure that this thread gets to the right place to start the appropriate conversation.
2. Always listen to your complaints, when posed professionally, in an unbiased manner.
