I have tried to find this info via google and forums.. but can't seem to find the answer. Will the server ever be wiped ? I'm wanting to purchase some gems, but wanna know the answer first before i spend my money

There are no planned wipes for your island, you will be able to keep everything you have once the game drops the "beta" tag. More or less this game is no longer in a true beta- we play the same version as the main game (germans) do and they have dropped the beta tag over there already.
According to BB_Katealyst, no wipe.
