Response to gold production haters

Hey all you haters out there you don't know what your talking about :O

ever thought of buffs? unlike the mythical belief they DO NOT speed up production. instead they do a 2 for 1 deal like taking 1 fir wood log and making it into 2 fir wood planks. clear that part up? good. heres the math for ya.

Gold Mine: 300 gold unbuffed. now we take our little 2 for 1 deal basket and turn that into 600 gold when buffed nice huh?
now the smelter takes that 600 gold ore and makes 300 gold bars. BUT WAIT we have BUFFS so now we still have 600 gold bars.
the coinage is nuts. (4 gold bars to make 1 coin?!?!?!?! insane anywhere) at least the insanity wears of somewhat when we use our BUFF to turn that usually 150 gold coins into 300. Sound Cool? 300 gold ore = 300 gold coins

Now those who say don't do it because the mines are to fudging expensive. Well SHUT UP!!! again you have no idea what your talking about. you can A. buy a golden parrot with gems (which gives another 500 gold ore) or buy a golden parrot from a gem seller. a lot of people gift you golden parrots at a price of 80-100g. so your 100g you just spent quintuples into 500g. Sound awesomne?

there you have it. hopes this clears a LOT up and reduces the amount of annoying gold production spam in this forum.

here is also a way to increase your gold with gold production. upgrade those mines ASAP the higher they are upgraded the faster they move and you do not have to basket them as often giving you a small amount back ;)

Are you on 24 hours a day? I'm not, nor am I on every 6 hours to implement a new buff.

You're tone was unwarranted.

Minesbigger, if you have a guildie or friend buff you with a basket your mine will run for 9hours unattended "IF" you have enough ore in it!

I run my own coin production and love it, sure it takes a little finesse to get it running properly but once you do it takes very little maintenance to keep it running smoothly.

You do not need to run it 24 Hours a day. A little planning and you could run it a majority of the day every day. And if you do not feel like buying Golden Parrots (from store or from others) you can always trade for Gold Ore, you can usually pick it up for a much better rate than trading resources for Gold Coins. You miss out on a little profit but you still make a pretty good profit.

I will touch sirdets comment. heres the deal. buy a basket or fish plate or whatever. then log off come back when it is about to where off. then put the building to sleep so it is not wating resources come back again and get it a basket and wake it up. this doesnt have to happen all day.

Awesome so at that rate in about 1.82 years I will have all of my buildings to the max level of 5, that is not a grind at all, you are so right!

Oh yah and P.S. OP what is up with your tone? People have warranted comments as yours, get some love mate!

And to the shut the mine off crowd that is great but now you are talking about roughly half the time if you are turning it off when not logging on (if you have a life), which means that you will be able to upgrade all of your buildings in about 2.67 years.

It grows more apparent to me everyday that many players here are do not have familiarity with a range of games. The ones that do jump from free browser game to free browser game, which is really the same type of gaming experience.

the argument for gold production is made by people who have no "real" life, nobody who works for a living or has social interaction/hobbies/anything going on in their life has time to hop on every 6 or 9 hrs (even if you are turning them off when not buffed, you still have to log on to turn them off so i'm not really sure how that argument is supposed to make any sense)....that being said, here's why the argument is invalid either way you want to look at it, whether it is 300 ore for 300 coins or the unbuffed result of 300 ore for ~45coins unbuffed...it costs you approximately 157 gold in resources to build the frickin gold mine in the first place!!!!!!!!!!!! it is super easy to sell marble and hw planks on the market at 4 coins for 100 resource, which at 1400 of each resource translates to (14x4x2 for you none math people) 112 coins, then you add in 1500 tools (which easily sell at 3 coins per 100) equals another 45 gold coins for a total of ~157 coins per gold ore mine.....

now lets talk about cost to run buffed, 12 minutes per ore (ignoring the none production times) times 300 ore means it'll cost you 10 of the 6hr buffs....upgraded to level 2 it'd only be 5 buffs, or friend buffed it'd only be 5 so we'll just go with 5 of the 6hr buffs at a cost of 600 fish, 300 bread, and 100 sausage...600 fish would sell for 4 coins, 300 bread for at least 6 coins, and 100 sausage for 8 coins which is a total of 18 coins to buff your ore production....then for the smelter it costs you another 5 buffs (so another 18 coins) and 2400 in coal (600/2x8) which is another 18 coins for the buffs and coal sells at 2 coins per 100 coal for 24 coins for the coal raising your buff costs so far to 157+36+24=217.....then you have the buff cost for the coinage which is 10 buffs (since its a 24min production time) so 2x18 for that which means you add on another 36gold coins raising you're total cost to build and run fully buffed gold coin production to 217+36=253 coins to make that 300 coins, and if you miss even one buff your profit ratio plummets or even disappears and running them unbuffed is just basically throwing resources down the drain

157 coins to building the ore mine (@4coins per 100 resource average)
62 coins to keep buffed
24 coins for coal
=253 coins worth of material to make 300 coins (golden parrots would really come in handy as you're big cost is building the mine)


the idea of trading for ore is pretty legit as that would save you a bundle of your cost, but as for me, i'm perfectly happy to make my gold coins by selling you gold producers the resources you're gonna need to build and run those buffed buildings, as it costs me far less "real" life time to play the game that way....you guys do your thing, and us people with less time to devote to the game will just continue to gripe about the fact that it's next to impossible to run gold production for a profit at the current costs

1)argument for gold production is made by people who have no "real" life - I have a job (50+ hours every week, travel, work on the road and at home), I have a girlfriend and friends. But I am also not one of the people that runs my Gold Production 24/7, I maybe run it once a day and sometimes I am a couple hours late logging on to turn things off, it happens and oh well.

2)it costs you approximately 157 gold in resources to build the frickin gold mine in the first place!!!!!! I have built only one Mine approx 16 levels ago.

3)The cost of buffs . . . I agree with on that. At least the only thing I have to trade for is fish, I am self sustaining on bread/sausage and do not often trade them.

4)i'm perfectly happy to make my gold coins by selling you gold producers I have never spent one Gold Coin on materials.

I do end up trading more for Coins than I produce with the Gold Chain. Its up to the individual to do what they want to do. Make coins, trade for coins or just do both.

400 gold ore = is not 200g. Stop being greedy. its only 65-85g

Run your mine and your smelter and your coinage buffed for me and tell me how those numbers work out again :p

400 ore smelts into 400 bars which then tuns into 200 coins...stick with me now...those are the numbers buffed now if you dont run it buffed then the numbers look more like:

400 ore => 200 bars => 100 coins if you dont believe me, check out some math videos on khanacademy.org and when ya get the hang of it hit the gold production buildings and add it up.

As i said, The ore is only 65-85g. I personally never pay over 70, and iv seen it often as low as 50g. On avg people sell it for 65g.
Buffed values should be profit margins for the producers
people who said "i should sell ore at 150g" are just greedy, and they should be slapped... Maybe even a few times.

Your not the only person in this world. be considerate of others. sell the ore at correct prices.
not this BS price where the producer does not get but 20-50g profit on a production que that takes 25minutes per cycle.

I think we misunderstood eachother...first off I agree with you...if you sell ore 60-70 coins is reasonable to sell 400 ore. BUT we're saying the production chain the actual buildings on your island that makes gold coins thats how it works. 400 gold ore will turn into 200 coins if you run it through the production chain while its buffed.

People I'm a 15 year old and I do have a life. I am not on 24/7 but I do log in 1-2 times a day if not more. also price of baskets is nothing compared to the profit you get from it. if 1 basket from a friend lasts 9 hours and is placed on a lvl1 coinage heres the math

2 coins takes 24 minutes
9 hours turned into minutes is 540 minutes
540/24= 22.5 coins
22.5 coins * 2 = 45 coins
-6 coins for basket= 39 coins
so 39 coins every 9 hours. so wheres your standing argument?

Mikiel my first post maybe through you off. I was saying that 300 gold ore can make 300 coins not thats its worth 300 coins. if this was the case this game would be seriously thrown off

Like all business and production chains, starting a gold chain is rough at first. But once you get the buffs going it's pretty nice to have the extra coins coming in.
My advice: hang in there and keep it up, soon it will pay for itself and earn you the coins that you need for upgrades or buying resources.

If you're impatient, the gold chain is not for you. Nor is this game for that matter.

if you are selling baskets for six coins i'll gladly take you up on that offer, cause the resources themselves cost around 18 coins

totally didn't think that through, thanks voidhearted cause i was using the cost of buffs for the entire mine's worth of ore, not just one buff

120 fish at 3g a stack is .9 gold
60 bread at 13g a stack is 1.95 gold
20 sausage at 30g a stack is 1.5 gold

.9+1.95+1.5=4.35

4.35 coins worth of materials per basket, and you can easily get them for less than what i used in this example.

Its a personal choice on gold production.If it works fr you great, if not, then dont do it. I have a gold chain, and it works well for me, but its not for everyone. Does it really mattr who is right about an issue that has no concrete answer? It all depends on the time spent on line, and the ability to schedule yur time to keep it running, on wether it is right for u. Who cares wo is right if u want to hate cecause People havefound away t make alot of gc and u donthave the time, resolve or organizational skills to do it, fine. I will take the 1000 gc profit a day i make from it, and laugh all the way when im buying my bread and weapons from my guildies to d adventures and level up. Good gaming to all
