Guide from lvl 1 to 20

Hello everyone, this is my first guide so if any one sees gaps in my information please let me know.

Lvl 1

At this point your only concern is fir wood production. since fir wood is essential for making coal and fir planks it is essential for most early lvls. To have maximum efficiency build close to your mayors house to shorten production time. However remember not to go over board and build like 40 of them or you will run out of the tools they provide at the beginning of the game.

Another good idea is to get a few high lvl friends, you can visit their islands to get a better idea about where you want to place your fir cutters. This is mainly due to the high cost of demolishing buildings and rebuilding them somewhere else. They can also give you useful tips if you run into a problem.

Another great source of info is help chat, you can find help chat in the tab next to global at the bottom or your chat window. There are usually people there willing to help new players out.

Lvl 2

At lvl 2 you get a new building, a forester. This building replenehes your islands supply of trees. To ensure your island does not run out of trees, build 2 foresters for every log cutter. If you follow this ratio you will never go wrong with your trees.

From then to lvl 5

From here on to lvl 5 you will get a new building every time you lvl up. The more buildings you get, the harder it will become to keep track of what you are making. To check out your available resources click on you mayors house. There you will see exactly how much of each resource you have. This will become very important once you start getting chains of buildings where one building relies on another building's resources.

The geologist.

The geo is one of the most important specialists in the game, he can be found in your star menu once the mason building becomes available. When you click on him you will see options as to which resource he should look for, for now you can only search for stone so don't worry if the rest are blacked out. The search for stone takes 4 mins. Your mason will not be able to produce stone untill you geologist has found the deposit. After a while of operation your mason will deplete the stone in that one deposit. You will then have to find another one. Try to build your mason close to the deposits to minimize travel time.

Lastly try to follow the tutorial closely. If you follow it you most likely not make and error.

General info to make being a newb less painfull.

If you see anyone offering trades in global ignore them. At lvls 1 - 17 you will not have branch office so you can not trade. If you do have a branch office make sure to spend as little gold as possible. It is imperative in higher lvls.

Second, the whisper function next to the help tab will let you speak to a player privately. To whisper someone click on their name and click whisper.
If you whisper is flashing this means you have unread chat. This should spare you the awkward moment when you are asked to go to whisper and you don't know how. ( it happens to me a few times)

Also, don't spam in global chat, I know it can be tempting in a slow paced game like this but your reputatation will be critical when you start applying to guilds. People will also be less likely to help you if you are a known spammer.
