offers gems items, but will take gold, and not pay
If you guys are getting scammed it's your fault. Stop pointing the finger at others and look in the mirror. When you start pointing your finger around, remember there's 3 more, on your same hand, pointing back at yourself.
If someone offers you gems, look at their island. Legitimate gem sellers are as obvious as scammers.
If the person's island looks like a scene out of the gheto, then you're prolly not getting gems, or anything else from them.
Legitimate gem sellers will have plush looking islands with surplus gem stuffs all over the place. Don't buy from people if their island doesn't look legit.
These "scam" posts are retarded tho. You got scammed, that's your fault. You obviously didn't investigate the person you were buying from before you went giving them your goods. You would have never done such a thing in a real world setting; take those same actions in-game. Make sure you're buying your stuff from a 7-11 and not from some street urchin salesman.
I've never been scammed or ripped off and there has been a couple who, i suspect, would have tried, but i backed out of the deal when the situation wasn't proper. You really have no one to blame but yourself if you got ripped off and you're welcome to spew as much retort at me as you want, but it doesn't get your stuff back and it doesn't make you any smarter. Just play smart.
I agree with a lot of what you said prag but its also nice when the community comes together to weed out the turds. Case in point, I use to play a game called EVE online and you couldn't name change, there was 1 server so you couldn't escape the fact if you were a douche bag to someone, that name stuck with you. I like these posts because if enough people are pointing the finger then it sets it up so others wont be scammed by that same method or person. Don't get me wrong, everything you said was spot on...I buy gem items from people I trust for that very reason. But a heads up to the community that so and so is a tool, don't trade with them isn't exactly a bad thing either. I personally believe reputation is something you should have to have for yourself, and if yours turns out to be a bad one then try harder next time or change your ways.
If you feel the need to smear someone's name, at the very least, take a screenshot as proof; otherwise it looks like you're just trying to tarnish someone's reputation.
THANK YOU! for letting all CEO players know of this scammer. To, Pragmatic, Dreamsfear, and thea.. there have been many different threads about bad players, and it has helped the community alot! it makes all aware of the players with bad intentions. ( http://forum.castleempireonline.com/...rs-Bad-Buffers )
14, pages of honest players letting all players know of the scammers, and non-honest friends. i personally do not want any of these kids in my friends list, these threads are a good cause, and anyone against something like this i would have to assume would not be a honest player.
scamming happens, if you dont help fight it, your participating in it.
I agree with what Thea said as well...screenshots go a long way in proof. I don't full believe someone is a scammer without proof but reading things about em make me leery to make trades with that person. You get the occasional knucklehead who feels you done them wrong no matter how things turned out. (Sold a victor to a guy for 200 coins just because and he pm'd and told me I was over charging for it and he wanted his money back...said no problem but he wanted 300 coins back for it) So without proof its just a he said she said battle.
This is true but there's generally a forum transaction of the sale somewhere. That way you have proof you're no longer the same person behind the character. None the less, EVE is still a great game. Just most of the people I enjoyed playing with left the game was all :(
Hopefully if they ever get the new trade system working we will be able to trade gem items through it to help stop a lot of these scammers.
I'm going to probably agree with this post. the player WettNwild seems to be playing on multiple accounts. He's a level 17. Friended me after I responded to his trade listing for Saltpre. Level 17 needing saltepre ?? He posted 400g offer for 50salt. seemed like it was too good to be true after I responded to his offer, he tried to friend me and asked me how many I had. Something shady is obvoiusly going on here. He didn't accept or decline my offer, just sitting on it. Quite annoying when people do that.
very well put, there should be lik a gradeing system on how a player does business, kinda like ebay has, would make things easier for people
SDFGHBNM is another scammer. I tried to buy noble deed, but he logged out after receiving my gold. As of 4/6/12 he was lvl 20. This is the best screenshot as proof i could get after the bad deal.
they need 2 put a stop 2 teh scammers ......or they gonna lose players ...4 teh ppl who pay good money 2 play and play right ...it seems lie teh makers of teh game dont care...i have reported ppl 2 them and the responce is check ur trades more carefuly.....its all bout the money 2 them
