There should be a feature wher eit tells you how many of each building you have. Say if you go to build a smelter it will tell you this is your 6th one or an icon for your island overview which tells you your buuldings and production maybe.

Sorta good suggestion but itsnot really needed. I think part of the game is to skill on your part to keep track of this.
Certain things would be nice to have but other things are like skill based.
Some people build stuff near each other and you can easily get a count.
