We are aware of the current issue where some players are being redirected to the UK severs of the game. Before you contact support about this issue please try switching to a public DNS. Below is a how to guide. Please let me know if this works!

Not that I'm a genious on this, but with all the people all over having issues getting to the game, but it's everyone's ISP??? Doesn't seem right to me.
Yup.. having the same issues. All day. No one is talking about it, or responding. So it must be us.
But what if you can't even access the help and support, like my poor friend? What's she supposed to do then?
GOOGLE can't even find your US server. That isn't my ISP's issue.
I am going to venture a guess that it was not my ISP. I couldn't even resolve the host and my ISP is specifically only not resolving Settlers Online? I didn't have problems with any other site. Sounds fishy. :(
Now my gold mines I had loaded with expensive parrots ran for almost 20 hours without buffs. Who's going to remedy that? :(
I had same problem - every website worked from my PC, except this one. Even weirder, I could connect using my iPad & going through the same router as the PC, (PC is connected via CAT5 cable while iPad is wireless).
Disabling the firewall on the router got things working again.
that is simply a server bug we shouldnt have to disable are computers protection against spyware and such
I am now not able to log in. The site fails with dns errors, both the game and the web site.
PS, the game fails with Server Call Failed
Totally agree. On the other hand, if you want to get in & sleep bldgs, build fields, etc., it MAY be worth it to you just to get your island to a better state before re-enabling your firewall protection.Quote:

It's definitely a DNS problem. Don't disable your anti-malware/firewall/whatever. Try a public DNS like Google's (IP: 8.8.8.8) if your ISP's DNS has problems resolving.
I tried that default dns, didn't make a difference. Guess its not worth my while to troubleshoot it tonight. Maybe I'll deal with it tomorrow. To be honest, the game has lost its appeal and these server outages make it even less appealing.

we are still looking into the problem, but it seems to be a DNS issue. You may want to try switching to a public DNS. Here is a how to guide.

I am attempting a dns fix on my router this morning, but my heartburn with this is that NO other website or game is having issues, JUST this one. What I tend to see is a problem resolving from castleempireonline to settlersonline.net. The redirection doesn't always work, and direct access to settlersonline doesn't always work.
I used the public dns change on my pc yesterday and it did no good. I don't think that putting it on the router will do any good either...but we shall see.
UPDATE: The public dns change on the router did make is so I could log into the game. And the effort wasn't a total waste of time since the router had a firmware update released recently as well.
For the not so tech inclined, if you need help setting up this option in your router let me know. Again, this should not be necessary unless many websites are failing to resolve, but at least this does get the game working.
