how much is meat worth in coins or eggs?
SirRoy's list is closer to reality at-least when it comes to trade tab prices.
Don't pay more than 8g or you're getting ripped off. People will sell sausage at 20g, so meat's worth no more than 5g.
I want to know who is selling you sausage at 20, I would buy them clean out everyday.
I would also like to point out the serve flaw in the idea of a 20 price point. Sausages actually have a large supply chain line to follow to be made.
It isn't as simple as hunting and butchering as deposits need to be made.
You need to convert bread to make fish deposits..
You need fishermen to get the fish.
You need wells to get water.
You have to convert the fish and water into meat deposits.
You then have to have hunters to collect the meat
You need butchers to make the sausages at a 1-4 ratio to meat.
Not to mention the deposits take time to make in the PH making this process even longer.
There is a lot of investment to make sausages and whomever sells them for 20 is likely operating at a loss as the time and resources no doubt add up to more than the 20 gold they receive.
If you want to know who's selling at 20, place an order in the trade tab. Make sure you have 60g ~ 160g on hand so you don't disappoint too many people by declining their trade. If you get enough to start two stacks of baskets, (1,000 sausage), I promise that over the next five hours, (minimum amount of time for a level 5 PH to produce 50 baskets), you'll be able to purchase five to ten more stacks of sausage.
In a free market environment, you'd do well to not assume you know what's motivating the seller/buyer in your buy/sell transaction. Gems can replace some of the resource costs you list. Fish & meat deposits are available, watermills = free water over time, the licenses required for hunters & butchers goes to zero over time as well, as you divide the license cost by the amount of resource produced by the building, (anything divided by infinity = 0).
Ultimately, I don't care whether the people who sell at 20g make or lose money. I only care that there are people out there that do. You can pay 25g or 30g or 50g if it makes you feel better; people will sell at those prices too. And many more people at that. But if you'd like to keep some coins, offer 20g a few times & see what happens.
