for over an hour now I haven't been able to use anything - global, guild chat, whisper or trade. I have logged out, rebooted, cleared cookies and still NOTHING. I am sure it is not a ban because I was not in global at least an hour before this happened. would like an explanation...
was it just the chat channels that failed or the whole server?
i can only get the news tab, the game seems fine.
It's probably a router issue, try resetting your router.
Chat servers are different than game servers, it might be getting blocked.
Is it bad that I'm not sure how to do that? (not computer savvy)
Refresh your browser page. That's always worked for me when the chat server fails.
well, like I said - I logged out, rebooted, cleared cookies, and even reset the router. I sent BB_MrGrimm a message, and sent a technical support "ticket" I guess that's all I can do....
You've done all you can do, this game is very buggy, good luck getting an explanation.
Heaven forbid Megnogger or Annabellsxo lose their "chat option". But, as someone already stated, refresh your browser once or twice and that should clear up the problem. You mentioned you: logged out, rebooted, cleared cookies, reset router, but didn't state you "refreshed browser". Try that.
I don't know what you think "refresh browser" means, but I'd love to hear your definition(s).
Essentially, if you log out of the game, clear your cache, reboot your machine and log back in, that's the dictionary definition of a browser refresh. It's okay to flip the order of the cache clear & reboot.
