lvl 1 ) 4 wheat 8 water => 4 brew
So, aren't you better off buying the 2X +5 building deed for a total of 740 balls, and building 4 breweries that equal the use of 1 friar building, and you STILL have 6 more buildings? There's plenty of space left on my island, and to buy the friar building seems like a total waste of balls.
No. In the long run, you may consume every inch of space on your island, and eliminating those breweries will be helpful. Additionally, friaries are cheaper in the long run, as you can buf one building instead of four. If you're paying 6g per buf, that's an 18g savings every time. And there's the population issue as well, using one settler to do the work of four means three more settlers for troops or other buildings.
Plus you can only buy one of the Plus 5 permits.
On my Island I need the room so 3x lev 4 Friary give me more then I need but take way less room then 12 level 4 Breweries at less upgrade cost
To add to the information already given, not only do you get 5 free licenses in the event, but destroying breweries using licenses already will open up even more licenses for you to use. If you solely go with friaries you will not only keep the 5 free licenses to make resources/coins with other buildings but you will also have the licenses you open up. It's a win/win no matter how you look at it. So with that being said, angur1973's view point is way off course. The only way it would be a "complete waste of soccer balls" is to not buy the friaries and use them on something else that A) won't be beneficial the rest of your gameplay here, and B) simply not using your balls to obtain as many of these as you can pertaining to your needs of brew.
