Chucks camp in area six is way over kill. Something is way off!

Greetings,
OK, I love a challenge, however there is something wrong with Chucks camp. I have now sent almost a dozen waves into his camp.
1)200 r, 2) 200r 200b, 3)200 calv, 4)100r 100 calv, 5)110r 90lb. That is just the ones off the top of my head. I have also sent a militia, bow, long bow, and other r in different combinations. Still Chuck, 11 rangers and 100 roughnecks are left. Seven days at this now! Again I love a challenge but this is nuts. The battle system here leans way to much in math and not enough chance. We need to balance that a bit. And the drop rate of troops is just insane. As a former developer of two games. I understand the need to be changeling and I also understand the need to sell gems to pay for expenses but this is way over board. And yes! I know there is a guide that will hold your hand and take you through it completely. I do not use that guide. If your going to have someone walk you through and do all the work for you with a perfect win your wasting server space and your time. The battle calc is a useful thinking tool. However 3 times now I and it has agreed on a set up that should work.

Well now that I vented. In conclusion developers please put down your mathematical formulas for a bit and add something called chance. Realistically if you kept sending 200 stone throwers up against a modern tank division. There is a chance they can win. And the fact game generals heal instant and player generals don't that is a unfair advantage. Lets do a little more work here developers.

P.S. and this is not from a moocher that does not pay his way. I have actually spent more plastic here then in Anno.

Ummmm, no. Just no.

If you really doubt this, watch the video from Tiananmen square in 1989. That's about what a stone thrower's chance is. Even 200 stone throwers.

If you're really failing to kill Chuck that many times, then you need to really sit back & analyze the troops you're using & the troops in the camp. Obviously Chuck can be beaten, and while I applaud your reluctance (refusal?) to stand on the backs of those who've gone before you, you're still doing something wrong. He's not hard to beat - NONE of the camps, anywhere, in any adventure, are hard to beat.

There seems to be a huge number of people in this game who have been able to do it with far less than that - I'm not sure how you've managed to spend over 1000 units on this!! Standard guide says 1: 115C 2: 85R 40M 75B 3: 200R should do it no prob.

Having said that, it is probably one of, if not the, hardest battle on your island.

Actually I seen that as it unraveled, and if you think about it. That one man in front of the tank and the statue of liberty that was made has almost won. Same thing with our Occupy wall street. It has not one yet but it will.

when i beat chuck i only used two waves. 1 wave killed everything but chuck then last wave was for chuck. reason you have to lose all ur troops is cuz your not sending the right troops to do the job. When you get down to chuck you must kill him otherwise his health refills. Your not sending the right troops. Wish i had link available for you to use, but like i said it was removed from forum. Use a battle sim before you send further troops to see if chuck will be killed.

People, it's a really good idea to do some research in the forum before you tackle a clearly formidable boss. For Chuck and Metal, search "Chuck and Metal" in the forums. Your efforts should not take more than 2 waves. For others, search on the boss names and also use the combat simulators. For those who think Chuck or Metal are "too hard," they are intentionally a test of whether you are ready to deal with adventures. The adventure losses are much greater, and require much more resource planning and strategy (to complete in the limited time frame), than Chuck, Metal and Wild Mary.

So I understand not using the guides written before you as I from time to time get in a mood where I like to explore certain battles and what not myself. I think the trick you are missing here is in the troop description. In this situation you basically have to sacrifice cav...there's no way around it. Cav get first strike and attack the weakest troop on the field. To simulate what's happening here to you is to say it like this.

200 militia attack and hit (insert boss name here)

Boss doesnt die he just shrugs it off with 2/3rds hp left

Now its his and his troops turn. So bowmen and recruits attack with the normal round and kill off some of your militia. (insert boss) attacks next either with his troops or a turn after his troops depending on if he uses last strike or not.

Your 200 militia is say now 100 militia and they attack again bringing the boss down to half hp and rinse and repeat until your militia die off.

There's no winning that situation fighting with that mind set. If I throw enough meat at it then he'll just eventually die. The combat system doesn't work that way here. So the trick is to send in say 200 cav to die.

200 cav attack first and weakest target...takes out bowmen and some recruits

(boss) and crew attack and either kill off the cav or most of it

If any cav are left over they attack and kill more recruits.

Now instead of boss, recruits, and bowmen you're lookin at boss, less recruits and no bowmen. Thats the trick. pay attention to troop descriptions and plan ahead for that. Most bosses like to be the meat shield first so you will never get away with killing 200 troops plus a real boss. You generally have to sac some cav to make it a little easier on your meat shields. Sucks but its the system.

Your correct! Awesome Idea. Thanks I have that bugger beat and now working on Mary. She is a breeze and pays well.

iv done enough on chuck iv wasted countless reasorses and troop and oh yea TIME on this guy and he is still just chilling. iv sent this one wave of a hundered soldiers and a hundered longbows and not even the rough necks died iv killed all the rangers and dogs and wut not just not chuck and the other dude and speaking of the rough necks how in the heck am i supoused to kill them wen my guys just attack chuck like this is poop im ready to just leave the game this is suposed to be fun not frickin computer stomp worthy

I do agree however, that the game could REALLY use that battle simulator built in. It makes no sense that typical players have to go to a forum and then a fan site to figure out the basics. The in game help gives you almost no help at all.

How would you know, for example, that Recruits will attack Dogs before they attack Roughnecks, but will NOT attack Dogs before attacking Chuck or all the other countless situations? Also, the way the attacks focus on the same person and "waste" damage can only be seen in the sim. Anyone who's done RPG battles knows how to maximize opposing unit death per hp of total damage by focusing who targets who and when. But in this game it's all a dark art that you can only see play out in the sim.

The sim changed the whole game experience for me and made something very frustrating into something very fun and interesting.

id leave harder sectors till lvl 36 when we get xbo, just do horseback and wots and dp and maybe outlawls, and u need to buy veteran general, and theres some bloks you can do
