Happy Hour? or Not?
I would like to know if there will be a Happy Hour Gem Sales. Blue Byte and UBI would sell more gems if they had a happy hour every other week or once a month. Just so they get it, I will spend real money on this game if they have a happy hour that I can get in on and it is a 2 for 1 deal. Cash for me is hard to come by like it is for alot of others.

Hmm, let us weigh this on the scales of reality.
On your side: Happiness
On their side: Profit
You lose.

Without knowing how many people purchase gems, it would be hard to assume anything. Given the fact that this is supposed to be a free game, it's very possible that many people are not buying gems. There is little profit to be made if only a small percentage of people are buying gems. Smart businesses offer promotional incentives to lure more poeple into buying their product. It would make sense that in order to increase profit, there needs to be more sales. At least Grandfather is trying to get something started. Good for you Grandfather!!! If I can be of any assisstance in trying to get that accross to the seller, let me know.

2 for 1 what? Items? Chickens? 2 veteran generals for the price of one? That won't happen... Although I could see them having a huge sale on cheese sandwiches... >.<

He is talking about a 2 for 1 Gem sale. They have done this in the past and I think it is a good idea to do it again. Regular price on Gems is 24k for $99.99 USD. I have purchased Gems twice, the first time was 36k for $99.99 and the second was the Mega-Happy hour that the OP is talking about and that was 48k Gems for $99.99. Despite what SirRoy says, No disrespect Roy, there is no possible way for BlueByte to lose money on Gems regardless of what they sell them for. The gems a virtual currency that require no work or resources to create, they are 100% pure profit all the time. So it is in their best interest to give us these sorts of deals to sell gems. And the nature of the game is that people will spend the gems on the things they want and then slowly whittle down the remaining gems on consumables such as parrots, buffs and the like. BB will also release new "Must have" items, Gem pit for example, and people will still always buy more gems to get these new things. There is no reason for BB to be greedy for the purposes of "profits", they will make more money if they give us better deal, because more of us will buy them. There is my 2 cents anyway :P.

well honestly i just started playing this game 4-5 days ago ive been hooked, ive been waiting for them to have a promotion so i can get some gems but i dont want to buy them then next couple days a promotion pops up , i honestly think they should have an happy hour everyday at a certain time whether it be 50% gems or 2 for 1
because im sure there are alot of people thinking the same thing i am, being able to buy those wicked items with gems, i would spend real money all the time to get them, and just like jett says its virtual currency they dont lose by doing so they only gain more purchases, i play a game called eve online and it i a pay per month game but i havent paid for it since 2007 in the game you can use game currency to buy a plex ( which is 30 days game time ) which is great but someone had to purchase that plex from them in order for it to be on the market , same concept works for any online game, so even know i personally havent paid since 2007, someone else had to, moral of the story more happy hours = good deal for us for in game items and more money for them
Cheers

Thank you for your responses. I was hoping to get BB and UBI to respond to this thread. The Poll is an attempt to get BB and UBI to start having scheduled Happy Hour Gem Sales, not random happy hour gem sales. If BB and UBI would have a regularly scheduled happy hour gems sales I would give up a few bottled waters, cokes and even a beer or two once in a while to buy some gems.
With the new items that was introduced in the last update the gem pit, and the endless copper mine both cost 20,000 gems. I would like to get the endless copper mine, but that will not happen because I don't have the money to spend on this or any game. To save the gems up from daily logins 45 gems once a week will take years. I would also like to get a Veteran General, 4,999 Gems at 45 gems a week, that alone will take 112 weeks.
