Don't think it's already been said...(blocking)
I don't see it anywhere but it seems obvious to me. Rather than getting rid of blocking and advanced blocking they should have just reworked several adventures to require higher troop counts. They could have added more camps, created more difficult timing for blocks, etc. There are tons of things they could have done and still left blocking in the game.
The part that has already been said by many is that this change is a big mistake. Adventures were kind of fun when I was trying to time generals correctly or find a path that minimized damage. If all they wanted was higher troop losses they should have reworked the adventures, not taken blocking out of the game.
