Perhaps you sent cannons instead of crossbows? (crossbows kill last-strike giants in 'normal' so they don't attack -- cannons attack in last-strike and let the giants kill more of your stuff)

yep.
you're right. is the rush. I have not seen
Are you 100% sure you used a regular general? Because I use this guide all the time and it works fine for me.
Yes there is a leader Southish/Southeast of C8 that isn't included in this guide. I have asked Evil_J about this. Just run a simulator or figure it out then email him the troops you used and he may just add it to the guide.
UPDATE
- nords 2 vet guide updated, now only requires 1 vet, and optimzied some setups
- nords 2 major guide added
- nords major guide added
- rb major guide optimized
SFTR guide http://img546.imageshack.us/img546/3811/cz6w.png has T3 attack listed twice; first one should be T2.
Well, I'm trying it again (I've got 4 of these Dark Brotherhood adventures to blow away) so we'll see. But I've only got (<i>only??</i>) 3 reg gen, 1 battle hardened and 1 vet. So I usually make the reg generals block, the battle gen do the 1st wave and the vet to bat clean-up. But as I said I'll try again. Annoying thing was that it cost 14E and 182C that I didn't plan for :-(
Thanks,
bigrussiaalex guide goes for 43k xp
i only ski that leader camp, which is only 1900 xp
UPDATE
- added major guide for SA, another great savings
Found a problem with the Dark Brotherhood guide (which lead to my previous post) the zoomed image of X8, X11 and X12 doesn't match with the whole image positions of those positions.
Zoomed X8 is behind a tree - unzoomed it is beside it
Zoomed X11 is just across the barrier behind a tree - unzoomed it is inside the barrier by a good margin
Same with X12
always use the zoomed images, location os the map isnt meant to be precise
These guides are great! I've been using them for various adventures I had saved up. So far, all of the blocks have worked perfectly, except for the block on C5 in WoTS. I sent my generals from X1 and X2 in rapid succession, but my general didn't make it out of C5's aggro zone before the block ended, so he got intercepted.
UPDATE
- added major guides for ML, OF and BK
I believe Leader 6 on the Major General map for Sons of the Little Tailor has an error - one too many cannon (would require 100+5+1+165 = 271 general).
Is it possible that pathing has changed? My attack to C4 was intercepted by C5 on Betrayed Major General version, and I lost all troops.
This also happened to me - once - the first time only - and I believe the error was a tardiness on my part launching ( or actually I blocked C5 with recruits instead of elites -oops) - Asa result, If my memory serves me right, the C4 attacker was pulled off onto C5 because my blocker lost too quickly. I have executed it perfectly ever since.
Hey Evil_J, great guides! I have a question about HLT Dual Vet Cannon guide though. Attack 6 calls for a 1r block on C12 followed by a first wave 200b attack on C14. However, C13 will intercept the C14 attack. Is there a block missing in your guide for C13 or am I missing something. Thanks!
Dirkjon - it does not. I have done that attack a dozen times and never had C13 intercept my C14 sac. While their agro zones overlap, C14 has priority to take ur general so no interception occurs on the sac.
Hmmm, gonna have to check on the next run. Must have done something wrong. Tyvm Draco!
on betrayed first sector, C5 is really to be blocked with recruits as a 2 round sac :)
fixed typos in the following:
- sons major
- heroic major
- rb short major
Where did the map go for SLT?
Ty Evil_J!
Evil_J please acept my heartfelt thanks for all your good work. I love your guides
First I got to say thanks for all the work and love your guides. Simple to use and understand. I downloaded all that I use and then some if I may suggest something is that you place a version number on them. Just so that us dumb folk can have the newest version and not 5 or 6 like I do. Again thanks for the guides
I have posted a new thread for a Roaring Bull Blended Guide that our guild has developed from Evil J's source material. All respect to EvilJ for his awesome guides. I suspect our difficulties with the C3 block are our fault - but we have used his amazing maps to come up with a solution for our shortcomings!
THANK YOU EVILJ!
answered in your thread :)
the version of maps has been suggested before, but thats something i would've to be doing since the begining, not going to do it now, maybe on any new adventure in the future, but not for the ones already posted, just check cempire or this thread once in a while and compare
I can confirm as of my next run of Roaring Bull that the EvilJ C3 block (Major Cannon Guide) worked. Only 99 more trial runs to go! LOL Thanks again!
updated BLT major guide with some combos ive been using for a while, and added options for some nukes :)
I have found improved attacks for Secluded Experiments, would you be interested in the camp numbers the next time I run it?
Those nuke setups look vaguely familiar .... and you didn't include the 3-potion residence to take the whole sector (or ranged support to kill the innkeeper and then 2-potion). The average is good on that, and you get a good chance for extra beans. I'd say always use ranged attack on leader camps with bosses -- try to eliminate the boss first for bonus beans.
would've to be very very lucky to eliminate the boss with a ranged support, and what those kill, dont make it worth their price in gc for me
bombcar - i dont really want to update SE guides :) ty anyways
Thanks for the guides Evil_J, i've run multiple adventures and you're ones are nice and easy to follow. Having it all on one screen or piece of paper is perfect.
Only problem i've had so far is that on Stealing From The Rich, Veteran Guide, I couldn't get my general as high as X2. The highest i could get (which was only a few squares away) led me into an interception by the wolf trap in that sector. So maybe that needs adjustment? Would also be nice to have some sort of small marks on the map for the camps and traps not in the attack plan, just in case.
Thank you again!
UPDATE
- added nukes in clt and hlt major guides
tonst: thats a known problem in several adventures, and i never mark camps that arent attacked :)
