Great job Evil-J! Thank you for your hard work!
UPDATE
- veteran iotp, wots, dp guides
- veteran SOV XP RUN
- victor the vicious veteran guide added
- other small modifications on another guides, correction blocking positions etc, lots of improvements :)
It shows only 3260 xp. Why even bother losing all those troops for that little xp and cancelling so you don't get the loot either?
Thank you very much for these wonderful guides with the new pathing, and all your hard work!
UPDATE
- old friends veteran guide added
- roaring bull fast veteran guide added
AND
the first roaring bull 32k xp veteran guide added :)
the c4 and c3 no loss blocks do not work for me in hb.
The horseback blocks should work...you gotta make extra sure that your generals are positioned in EXACTLY the spots shown on the map. I know I've had trouble with that before too.
Love the guides, but I have a few optimizations that aren't in the guides if people are interested:
Another WOTS Block (saves 44R):
52E 1S removes the 0.2% -- but puts 47-51E at risk if there's a server crash or lag. I just find the soldiers more "replacable".

Traitors Double-Block (saves 116R):

Victor Double-Block (saves 80R 38B):

Also on Victor -- I hate using 2-wave on L2 and L3:
1) 125R 2) 74R 1E 175XB = 125+66.35 average = 191R
1) 185R 5S 60E = 177.06R 0.24S average
Saves you 14R per leader and you have a lot less generals in hospital -- you guide calls for killing 7 regular and 1 veteran and can be reduced by 2.
(Don't double-block L1 with 185R 5S 60E -- the 2-wave is required and faster -- although 103M 147S works if you need to save another recovery)
Sons Of The Veldt:
http://forum.thesettlersonline.net/t...-XBow-Blocking
I dont use elite soldiers on easy adventures (level 26+), and most players who does, dont have elites yet.
for vtv i just did a simple block using garrison positions, didnt want to make a timmed block, i will look that up someday when i run it again, i dont like it too much, hate losing cavs ^^
doing a vtv right now, not doing that double block, the attack on c3 calls for 7 rounds min and 9 average, still a long walk to the leader, that will take 4 rounds min to take down, it could work sometimes, but pretty sure it will fail many times.
but i'll use the 1 wave for L1, L3 and L4, very nice, thanks for the advice
UPDATE
both outlaws guides updated for better positioning:
- x3 on triple block didnt appear most of the times, so we got new positions now that will always work
- position to attack L3 updated too, now theres no need to delay the attack, just send all the 3 in quick succesion - WARNING - the block on C9 is risky if your using a regular general on L3
For Outlaws, 172S 1E 416C (589 premium troops) is very high.
You can accomplish the blocks with the same minimum rounds for 48S 137E 288C (473 premiums -- 128 less cavalry). I'm sure it could get even lower, but I don't know if it could get down to 249C.
C4: 15S 23E 128C
C6: 33S 100E
C5: 14E 160C
C9: 5R 187C
C10: 2R 15E 101C
C15: 22E 144C
C16: 22E 144C
Non-Elite ( 88R 2M 150S 288C )
C4: 1R 40S 128C
C6: 87R 95S
C5: 15S 160C
C9: 1R 18S 131C
C10: 157C
C15: 1M 22S 144C
C16: 1M 22S 144C
its not only about the minimun rounds
UPDATE
- small bug on traitors veteran fixed
- vtv veteran guide optimized
where do we get these guides
Every block is about the minimum rounds. It is the only part of the simulation that bears any importance (except when you always win in the minimum rounds, then the number of losses, if any, in the next round is somewhat important sometimes).
I've never failed a block in Outlaws -- and I've never taken more than 318 cavalry to one either. 416 cavalry is intimidating to a good portion of players.

For the record -- The block in your guide loses in 5 rounds 3 times out of 2000 ( 0.15% ) -- The one using 36 less cavalry worst case scenario is you win in 5 rounds and get the colourbar -- buying you at least a full additional round. It's a better block for less. Because there's also no losses is 6 rounds -- if the colourbar lasts a full 2 rounds -- your worst case scenario could be those losses in 7 rounds -- which is a pretty comfortable buffer (aka. severe overkill)
Evil_J , I have to compliment you on these guides. I've been using them exclusively. It's a bit unnerving to use 4 generals at once, but your positioning is perfect. I can't image how much time was spent putting these together, further, having the wiliness to lose high level troops in the process. Extremely well done. Thanks for sharing.
well thanks, didnt lost many high level troops, only when i make stupid mistakes lol
finding positions for blocks is very simple, just takes a bit more time to make the final guide image
about the generals, well you can get 5 regulars for a reasonable price, the 6th is 20k gc, so i got the 5 cheap ones lol
COuld someone please tell me what type of troups are represented by "A" in the Nords guide?
A = Crossbowmen
UPDATE
- ML vet guide added
- SOV vet guide added
- iotp vet guide updated with a new block, saves a few more recruits, not tested with a regular so, didnt update the regular guide with this block
and props for ZBest for making a nice sov guide, my version is a bit different though.
and im not making a quad block on pirates, just on sov lol that on pirates doesnt worth the risk for me :)
DB vet guide coming soon too!
ML is a little cheaper from the south ( 229R 21S - ave 208 ) than the west ( 99B + 140R 110S - ave 99+135 (224) ) and you have a healthy general to bring your soldiers home. You can also double-intercept and take the three traps with one attack to save time.
Thanks for the mention.
well i actually never did a ML by myself, those numbers were gave to me by bionik and i just compiled it in the final image, i'll take that in consideration someday when i run it :)
UPDATE
i had some time today to run a couple of outlaws are optimize the troops for blocks, so, both guides for outlaws have now better cav numbers (the 3 top sectors blocks use all the 288 cav each, and troops were also optimized to use the total of 172S needed for L2 on blocks, no need for elite blocking), and i also fixed a small problem with X5 position
and again, thanks to zbest for bringing this up, i used different combinations, but both work nicely
i run lots of outlaws, and i can now bring all troops at once with my only 7 generals lol
how about surprise attk?

Sanii guides are really good for the high-level stuff
UPDATE
- DB vet guide added
- small fix on regular outlaws
- iotp vet guide improved, max loss of 409r now :)
i think i got guides for most main adventures, im not wasting frags on worthless adventures that cant be found, so probably next guides will be for cannons as soon as i get them (very close now (: )
UPDATE
finally got my cannons, so new guides coming :)
- iotp cannon guide added, 243R max loss with elite simple, double and triple blocks, all safe, all attacks in quick succession
UPDATE
- added ML cannon guide
- ML veteran guide updated
UPDATE
- RB cannon guide added (not really worth the extra transported troops, but as i did this adventure with cannons, i made the guide)
- RB vet version improved (troops numbers tweaked a bit)
- iotp cannon guide updated (1 block improved for better % of win)
Heyo!
The needed troops vs. what is required in the veteran IOTP is incorrect. It says that only 19xb are needed, yet the last camp requires 66xb.
Please fix~ I had to send my vet back to get more xbmen!
Thanks! Love the guides!
Rue
UPDATE
- vtv cannon guide added, cannons make a hugeeee difference on this one :)
- iotp veteran guide updated! thanks RecklessRue for warning about that
im probably doing a iotp elite guide as alot of people run this adventure, its a mix between my vet soldier guide and the cannon guide, with elites the losses can be cut down to 300r, which is awesome ^^
UPDATE
- added a elite guide for iotp, more blocks then on soldier guide, 301r max losse ^^
