- added the lost skull vet guide, adventure to be released on the 21th february update :)
On IOPT (vet/elite), do I just swap the C5 and C6 labels on the map and attack C5 with those 2 waves?
the camps are labled correctly, sammiecat. if you check ur gen's path, he will dance right by the aggro zone of the camp labled C6, enter the aggo of C5 1st so he'll attack tht camp. then u block C6&C7 and take out the cook. i was hesitant bout the setup myself at 1st, but it all works perfectly
If I may add a suggestion on the Outlaws Guide C10 block, if you move the general back a half of a garrison space, it works better i think. I was having the issue that that camp would start beating the bandits and i would lose some cav there. Thanks
In SFTR (vet guide) the placement at X2 does not work anymore. This can be taken care of by sending a wave with 10 R and rest S at the trap, or by killing L6 and L7 first, and then coming at C2 and C3 from the left.
Hi guys,
I love most of your guides but I have one small beef.
Under the Vet Gen guide for Victor the Vicious, the first block does not work.
I have tried it twice now and both times have lost 160+ cavalry.
Yes, I gave ya the benefit of the doubt and tried again... :-(
for non crossbows, you can follow my order and load the hall of fame on german sim to get results for longbows, or just follow other guides :p i already had xbows when i started making them so....
took some time today to take a deeper look into this....and i dont know what i was thinking when i first made the guide :)
UPDATE
- vtv veteran guide updated, from a simple block to a double block now, 3 rounds on the leader instead of 5, should work like a charm
UPDATE
- added surprise attack vet guide
- improved C3 block on iotp elite and cannon guides
- fixed x9 position on iotp elite guide
There is a problem with VTV veteran guide I can not see the image
Can you please fix it?
Thanks
I didn't check all 18 pages, but the Witch of the Swamp fast guide for cannons is a little off on troops, I think. I ended up taking 5 less cavalry than what was needed to do it fast. Still had the total amount needed, but ended up having to send the gens one at a time for the last 3 camps. It could be a lot faster if 5 more cavs are sent. You call for 392 cavs, but in the attacks you call for a total of 397 cavs. Just a quick note.
Zetty - vtv guide is fine, i did a small correction today, you probably tried to open it while i was changing the url
jcleaver - 392 cav is fine, with 2 vets you attack C2 and C3, then C4 and C5 which requires the 392 cav, and then WT
or you can bring 429 cav and use a regular gen to kill C3, so, C2+C4 attack with vets at same time = 429cav
UPDATE
- small bug fixed on dp and wots fast runs
UPDATE
- added vtv dual veteran guide, adds a double block on last sector
- small update on vtv cannon guide, changed troops for last leader
Hey Evil_J,
Great guides man, this is like my TSO bible.. lol. Today I seem to be getting an error when I click on "Dark Priests: Fast Map (3,405 XP)", I get a 403 Forbidden error from image shack. Just an FYI for you. It worked fine when I used it a couple of days ago. Thanks again for all your hard work getting this stuff put together.
Jett
**EDIT** Nevermind.. it mysteriously works now.. lol.. I checked it at least 5 times before I posted.. and the first time I check it after I post it works.. umm.. thanks for fixing that dude, you are fast :D
hey, didnt do anything today, but i had an inciddent couple days ago and deleted some guides from my imageshack account, had to re-upload, so url's changed
or it could have just been a temp problem from imageshack servers...
Well I, for one, would like to thank everyone on this tread. Many things have been worked out and the hard work done by Evil_J and his assoc. have been one of the most valuable parts of this game. That being said I still see a lot of questions about the outlaw guides. I found some simple mistakes in my own blocking maneuvers, like using an upgraded general for a blocking attack. Didnt read the hints section of the guide list before starting. But im still having problems with the X6 to C9 block. My attack sometimes gets defeated before the L3 battle ends and i loose a lot of cav. What is a best solution for this? Move the X6 location a hair south or move the X7/X8 locations a hair north? Or maybe some combination of all 3? Or maybe use an upgraded general to hit L3?
ive been working alone on guides for a long time, my friend Bionik helped me starting, to have more guides being released faster :)
top left sector of outlaws is the most problematic on the regular general version, battle takes longer, so theres probability of blocking failure, just make sure to send all the gens quickly, the faster you send the better, and use a fast gen to send the real attack if you have one
dont change position or it will probably intercept the other gens :)
I just want to say thanks. Your guides kick butt and are pretty accurate. I love em!
A warning to all -- after the Feb 27th maintainance, all multi-blocks should be avoided. Single blocks should still work.
I agree with ZBest. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
The 3rd block on "Outlaws" no longer works.... It used to.... You end up losing 200+ cavalry.... Not sure if it's a glitch.... The C9/C10/L3 block doesnt work.
why is there no wild mary guide? could you please add 1. great guides
because i never ran wild mary
the blocks will work fine as soon as BB fixes this :)
Old friends attack on witch tower does not work??? Why???
I've done 4 "Outlaws" in the last 2 days and have had no problem after I delay the final attack by about 5 to 7 seconds. The other battles last long enough to counter the glitches in the final attack. I've done that on all multi-advanced blocks and have been successful every time.
This is the opposite of what I have found to work.

thats something i said before this new issue with generals, and regarding that block for the regular gen version....
what is really happening now is, when 2 or more aggros intercept each other, it triggers the jumping generals.
BB removed aggro from traps, and some code was messed up regarding the aggro behaviour.
I usually LOVE your guides, but I just tried Bandit Nest vet gen guide and found a serious problem while running the last block because X9 to block C7 was intercepted by C6. Should the "When C6 engages" message come before X9 is sent to C7?
There is a serious problem with the Black Knights Veteran General with cannon guide. The X2 & X3 positions changed so when attacking L1 the timimg for the blocks is all off. The attacks on order box on the top left doesn't match the instructions in the box on the lower right.
there wasnt any issue with the guide, only issue is the jumping generals, but i updated bk guides today, read below
UPDATE
- surprise attack guide updated, new block, dont forget to tag on the first sector :)
- bk veteran guide updated
- bk cannon guide updated
- added RB short run with cannons, new path with new blocks, fewer losses
to compensate the jumping generals, its a good idea to add some delay while sending generals, like 3-5 seconds between each of them
I just ran Outlaws. All the blocks that had 2 or more regular generals worked perfect if I delayed 8 seconds on each. By the time the Vet hits the zone of the 1st block and starts skipping, all the other reg generals have engaged.

thanks everyone for making this the most viewed guide page in this forum :)
This guide is very well deserving of 100k views! Keep up the good work Evil_J! :)
