I can not believe any developers would let such a terrible execution of game design happen. It makes absolutely no sense how they came to the conclusion that these would be worth it for anyone to do. So many people in my guild and in other guilds are laughing at all of this very openly. It's annoying because we can't even cancel them once they come up, and even if we did, we don't want to let down our guildies who -do- want to do the quests.
You're asking me to sacrifice 3,000 realwood for 10 gc and 5 granite? Not to mention the 111 exp that I will get if half of my guild does it. Do you know what 111 exp means to me? It would take 720 consecutive days of guild quest completions to equal my next level (which is only 40 to 41). Why would I even care about that, ever? I get exactly one-hundred times that amount by finishing Stealing From The Rich which I do once a day. How is giving away 3,000 hardwood and a ton of marble worth it?
The entire system needs to be modified & revised or scrapped fully. You should both make it so we don't LOSE materials (just need to gain them), and also get 1,000 - 5,000 exp per day, depending on level. Even that's not very much and it will take months and months to get to 50.

Apparently, the guild quests will get better around Halloween. The XP amounts are tentative to avoid unbalancing the game as more features are added. As irritating as it is, I suppose it is better than flooding the game with XP until the balance issues are worked out. They also could have released this before hand. Oh well...the joys of beta...now if only they fixed the gem pit...
my guild have completed two quests, for the rip-off of a reward, we have stopped as of today because its obvious Ubi, being a multi billion dollar company gets a lil too greedy, need to up the reward guys its not even scratchin the surface atm, more gold coins, or like 25 gems would be cool...maybe even 2k pony worthy if im in a good mood
my guild beleives they are trying to straighten the market up by doin this but...like....wtf...if it was true im sure it wouldnt work anyways ppl would do exactly what they are doin now, ignoring the quests...
Hmmm give up 100 coins for a reward of 10 coins.... what smart person thought that quest up?
There is very likely a vast chasm between reality and what you wholeheartedly believe.
BB has released this feature with many more considerations than you are aware of.
This is a beta roll-out that will get tweaked after they get a certain amount of feedback.
There is actually a post explaining it on the German forums.
Give it time and stop dramatizing it.
I have advised The Deities not to donate resources to the guild quests. The reward in no way pays off the required resources.
The Creators are also highly disappointed in the pay off vs. required resources. The concept is great, the execution is not so shiny -- yet. Our own Lottery Night and Comic Book Trivia night put these quests to shame.
That being said, we are hopeful that BB will make the necessary adjustments so that we can all have a lot of fun with these.
SP
I completed the first quest that I got from my guild which was 4k in tools and 50 settlers and in return I gont only 5 granite and 10 gc and when its totally complete I will get 52xp. We were talking bout itin our guild chat and I said that I wouldnt be doing the next one since it wants 100gc & another 3k in tools and i will only get 10gc and 53 cp in return. That is waaaaaaaaaaay too much for me to get up for such little pay. I understand that they want to limit the amount of xp so not complaining bout that but she should get at least goods that are comparble to what they are asking (ie: if we give 1000 marble we something like 1000 HWP in return. It needs to be something that has close to the same value to make it worth actually completing.)
Fix this issue, BlueByte. Every guild shouldn't have to cancel all of the guild quests because of your issues with math. Why even introduce them when you should know better and already have tested this on the test server? This can't possibly be working as intended.
I just wanted to throw in my displeasure with the new "make available" aka "We are gonna take your stuff and give you next to nothing for it" quests. You need to multiply the rewards by 10 to make it viable.. right now it is literally a joke.
Hi guys! just logged in and got todays guild quest.............I am guild leader and my sub quest was to make available 100gold coin and 3000 tools......guess what my reward was?......10gc!!!!!!!!!!!!!! needless to say i cancelled the sub-quest and the guild quest. These quests to date have been lame but this is by far the worst one yet.
I'll throw in my 2gc to this as well. These guild quests are set up horridly!
A bad economic trade, but with good experience is one thing. Both bad economics and horrid experience is just plain wrong.
My complaint is this - not only do the rewards suck, but the expectations are impossible!!
We have a level 21 person who is required to get 600 gold ore. Now mind you, at level 21, HE CANNOT EVEN MINE GOLD ORE!!! Why the hell would he get that for his part of the guild quest??? Who the hell designed this?? And why, after doing that... he only gets 19 exp?????????
That is just about as dumb as can be. Who ever is in charge of designing guild quests - whatever members you have on your team - STOP PAYING THEM AND HIRE ME - I will do a 100% better job and could do it for half the salary of the crack team of dummies you have setting that up - seriously....
I will go with the more negative feedback route: The reasoning that exp. should be rare does not hold true. My favorite quest is stealing from the rich in which you lose 1050 recruits and get 10970exp. basically 10exp. per lost recruit.
I currently have 2 guild quests qued:
1)build 100 longbowmen (100 settler+1000 LB+2000 beer) AND give 1500 bread (12GC/400bread=42GC)AND give 500 longbows...total resource requirements 100 settlers+1500LB (longbows sell 32GC/400LB=120GC)+2000 beer(5GC/400Beer=25GC)..this quest will cost a total of 100settlers+187GC and reward 53exp., 10GC , and 5 granite. Granted i get to keep the longbowmen, but i don't use them on the adventures i run.
2)give 150 settlers to capital island...it would take 6*625=3750 bread at provision house to produce 150 settlers 3750/400=9.1*12GC=118GC total cost to complete this quest and it rewards 10GC and 53 exp.
I agree with the devs that there need to be streams to get exp. because once you clear your home island it becomes very dull running the same quests over and over for experience. However, their assertion that they wanted to be conservative in rewarding experience is a understatement/copout. I can yield 10 times the experience running adventures with the resources they are asking be applied to guild quests and actually generate gold by selling off the loot. The goal of strengthening guilds and increasing guild size through these quests is also an utter failure; very high lvl players can throw excess resources that they would have sold at market into these quests but mid/low lvl players cannot and therefore do not want to do them causing division in guilds over the subject of completing these. Take it out of the game and reasses how to make it an enjoyable part of the game. Right now there is no incentive to do these as you are throwing away resources for basically no reward.
Have to agree with Aquila and the rest. The new Guild Quests just aren't worth it and don't add value to the game.
I agree with all of the above, "unless someone said something positive" about the guild quest rewards... i would rather give resources i make like hwp and marble albeit the rewards should be closer to equivalent. The quest i have currently, is for 10 carriages and 1500 horses.. it wont happen, maybe if the reward was semi worthwhile like possibly change exp to gems, then maybe someone would see the value in completing the quests..and continuing to play this game.
don't cancel them. I leave it not completed so that others don't try the new one that will pop up.
Yeah...our guild took a vote, and, most wanted to do them at the start...but, I guarantee I run that vote again, less than 10% remain interested. A guild adventure, or PvP, would be far better than tossing out resources for nothing. I am going to put it to vote again today, but, from what my members are telling me, it appears that this may be our last one. I see you say you wanted feed back...its been resounding! No one likes them!
I have been doing the stupid quests and getting ripped off along with the rest of my guild. They are not getting better, they are not getting more affordable...they are simply an insult to all players. You are apparently only doing this to force lower level players to use gems to finish these highly overpriced quests...and in the end they only get to assume the 'got screwed again' position. So tell me...what is your motivation. You don't listen to the feedback from your players so it is obviously NOT to make them happy!!You make the reward for each individuals quest an absolute insult and the exp is worth nothing to anyone but the very lowest of the lowest level players. So again, I ask what is your motivation??? Why keep us in the bent over 'screw me over' position? What do you get from causing upset and discontent within the guilds as members are divided on being ripped off and screwed over?
Our guild decided early on not to do them. There is no upside to what they are demanding for the quests. It was a very wise decision.
I rarely do daily quests for the same reason. I am not going to work hard to build my stock then let them steal it from me.
Yup,
I'm in the same guild as Achilles and A1-Polyxena and these guild quests are just insulting.
The only way I could see it justified with the current rewards (if that's what you want to call them) is if there was a guild bank and all of the used resources went into said guild bank.
As it stands, these guild quests are just in place for me to practice my downward dog yoga position!
