Among other things, I find not being able to build in an area because of tree stumps aggravating. It leaves barren spots in the city, and ruins city planning. You say you
want to preserve trees as a resource, this is fine but I have foresters to do that out in the fringes not in the city.
I would have to agree that this game has become a little boring and repetitive. There's no real interaction with guild members or other guilds. Yes, I know, there is buffing and trading, doing an adventure once in a while with another member, but it's the same thing - every day. Re-build, buff a friend or two, trade maybe and do one of the same adventures you've done for the last 3-4 months and then wait around for your troops to rebuild.
We all know that the guild quests have to change - they are just not worth doing. But there needs to be more. Some people have mentioned that the bandit placements in the adventures should be random - I like this idea. Hell, I'd like some bandit camps to pop up on my own island once in awhile, or bandits attack my island, or a storm ravage my island so that I would have to repair or rebuild some buildings. Or how about a good forest burn, or a rock slide or two. Maybe some random mines once in awhile. Anything different would be good. Something unpredictable.
Don't get me wrong, there have been some good additions to the game. The move option and the economy info tree where both great additions, but it doesn't help the game play. More is needed.
I like your ideas Hondo. However, implementation would have to be done carefully. As an example, some players might quit if your random events destroyed large numbers of level 5 buildings they had spent a large amount of time getting built.
Yes Carcator, I wouldn't want a level 5 building completely destroyed either, so yes, the implementation would need to be done very carefully. My thinking is that as you level up buildings, they become stronger and less likely to be completely destroyed - they would need to be "repaired". I don't think a level 4 or 5 building should be completely leveled - but a level 1....... that's another story. However, I've played many games were you have expensive buildings being attacked and destroyed, so you would need to protect them from attack.
Being attacked by random bandits or having bandit camps pop up over night on your island would sure make your generals a lot more valuable, plus you would need to keep up with your troops. There just needs to be more than just rebuilding everyday and adventures. The game has become too predictable - which is making it a little boring to do every day.
