You can only buy 3 of each patch.
They are NOT upgradable.
You can buff them to speed things up.
I'm assuming once depleted they will crash like a mine.

small = 50 pumpkins, 1 per 8 hours, cost 50 stone/100 pwl
medium = 85 pumpkins, 1 per 4 hours, cost 150 marble/200hwp
noble = 100 pumpkins, 1 per hour, cost 10 granite/25 ewp

So a total of 705 pumpkins is possible through patches.
unbuffed, it's a total of 35 days worth, so will need to use baskets.
in my opinion using anything higher might be a waste of resources due to the slow output.

Pumpkins will also be available through quests, and can be purchased with gems
55 gems = 40 pumpkins, 170 gems = 125 pumpkins

I'm curious to see what they'll sell for in gc.
at 2.5 gc per gem, trade value is around 3.5 per, but i bet they'll go for much more than that

Thank you very much ZBest and psaltery, that answers all my questions, and now I can make my calculations and plan ahead.

I want 5 silos and the general, so I will need 3800 pumpkins...not including buying buffs for friends and guildies.

Silo are also limited to three, and only if you didn't buy them during last year's Halloween event. One grim reaper general, same rule applies.

They actually say the silos are limited to 5 per player.

Oh, I just thought of one more question about this.

Are the pumpkin fields harvested by our regular farms? that is will I have to suffer a loss of normal wheat production for this(unless I add farms just for this)? Or will these pumpkin fields harvest themselves?

The Darkness Buff halts productivity and the Light Buff removes the Dark buff and increases productivity...

How much more productive does the Light Buff make things? 2X? 3X? 4X? and how long does it last?

How much do the Dark Buff and Light Buff cost? (I know it's produced in the provision house, but produced from what and how much for how much?)

login on the test server and check all of that :)
light buff is 4x for 2h, costs 10 pumpkins to be built on the ph, and cemeteries have their own harvesting

So 10 pumpkins for a dark+light buff, which on a noble patch gets you +6 pumpkins... so what's the point of these again? For gem buyers to put their gold chains into overdrive?

I'm thinking you wouldn't want to use any buff made with pumpkins on the pumpkin batch itself, since the return on them is too slow.

I think there will be some quests to make dark and light buffs, so you might as well use them. But I agree, they aren't really worth it. In fact, only the noble patches are really going to be worth buffing.

The nobles are not worth buffing with light/dark either...

Im enjoying the game, since I just started about 6 months ago, and Loved the Easter Adv..and look forward to playing with all new buildings,etc.; I enjoy the Adv. of all kinds..I wanna play today, and understand, see you soon.Have fun!!

Last year, 5 was the limit.
The details in announcements often differ from what actually happens.

So far I like it, love having all the gems to use to get started. I bought the grim general, but haven't used him yet, will do so on the next adventure, I bought several of the bounty Hunter so will use him on the next one.

Knowing BB, we're not going to be able to go through the first day of the event smoothly.
Especially with what's going on with this server with barely any updates.

If you want people to use darkness/light buffs for anything other than turning gems into pumpkins into overdrive gold chains, you need to make some adjustments. Cut the cycle times on the pumpkin patches by 1/4, with a corresponding increase in the pumpkins they contain, and prices for the items in the shop ( but not the buffs ) and then they would be worth using on at least the noble pumpkin patches.

Better yet, change the cycle time on all 3 patches to 1 hour but the output on the level 2 and 3 patches to 2 and 4 pumpkins per cycle and then the buffs would be worth using on the medium patch as well ( but just barely ).

You have GOT to be kidding? Who is the "genius moron" that created the Darkness Buff????? :confused: "Play tricks on your friends"???? :rolleyes: That is the impetus for this stupidity? I have not been playing TSO as often lately, and I come back to a server that is down and then this ignorance?
I guess there is a reason for everything. :confused: I can hardly wait to see what the reason for the "DB" may be.
One thing I do know is, I may be looking for another game to play soon. :(

RipRap, if you work in conjunction with a friend, they place the dark on you and you cancel it with the light buff. So a pretty good buff only costs 10 pumpkins.

riprap, the dark buff is half of a 2 part buff, you apply a light buff after the dark and you get a 4x buff.
can it be used as a "prank"?
yes, but those people who use it without coordinating with your light buff are likely not your friends and should be removed from your friends list.

Repeat post I did in Maintenance Compensation that fits in here as well.
Here is another great thought that fits in with the holiday theme, fair, fun, and simple to pull of if BB has the will. This idea even helps with the failure of no adventure for Halloween and Maintenance Compensation. Put in gem shop for 1 fish a multi player adventure with no minimal level to play themed towards Halloween and for the duration of that Halloween event. Random xp and loot ranging from poor to awesome. Include killing server bugs (Caltrop), spammers (Thug) , hackers (Cultist), Cheaters (Shadowsneaker). Up for the chalange BB?

Obviously he didn't know silo's were created last halloween friend...and mis-informed on how the buffs works! Its alright, you probably helped clarify things for other people who are not sure either! Not everyone knows how those buffs work.

Ok the School is really a Brothel. A slow brothel at that. If Settlers had a red light district then the School house would be spitting out settlers every 10 minutes.
Not Hours and Hours. Anyway besides the Zombie Buff this event doesn't excite me at all.

QUESTION .. maybe I'm being dense (I have never been able to get the test server to let me play for more than 5 minutes) when you guys say you can only buy/build "3 Each" ..

.. first .. does that mean you can only build 3 of each type TOTAL for the duration of the event?
- (ie., 9 patches total with or without buffs, 3 @ small, 3 @ medium, 3 @ Noble and you are done)
- which means you get 150 pumpkins total from a small, 255 total from a medium, 300 total from the Nobles = 705 pumpkins total from the patches?

.. or does it mean you can only build 3 patches at one time, and then rebuild/replace them after they run out (like mines)?
- (ie., I can build 3 noble patches multiple times for the duration of the event?)
- without buffs; that's 15 Noble patches total = 1,500 pumpkins.

.. OR .. can you have nine patches running at one time (3 @ small, 3 @ medium, 3 @ Noble) for the entire event?
- blah blah blah .. critical need-to-know information .. lol ..

Wow...I'm feeling very uncomfortable with this game now. I just started playing, and would be more than happy to spend my actual cash on stuff...that is, I would be if I didn't feel like I was being forced to do so every second of my game time.I cancelled my WoW subscription because they more or less forced you to purchase the expansions in order to fully participate in the holidays, and the changes they made to the game made my previous hard work (and valuable time) practically worthless at the click of a server switch.

I will say that if I get slammed with these "Dark Buffs", I will be quitting this game immediately. That is not a prank--that is extortion...and I for one, do not apprecate being treated like this.

I just wanna say since welcoming over 100+ new friends due to the new trade system, my land will be hell with darkness buffs *facepalms*

This Halloween event is a bit of a let down so far. Once I figured out the max on pumpkins, the rest seems so-so at best. Question: If you use the Sun buff....it brings the daylight back for good or only a few hours? How does that work?

You can get pumpkins without spending money. You can get more if you spend money, sure, but for every event so far I've been able to get every special item I've wanted just by doing the event quests and whatnot and by trading with other players.

Only friends and guildmates can buff you. If you do not trust those people, leave your guild and remove them from your friends list.

how can i find halloween event sound.i love it:D

what is the end of the quest chain for the event? im on one that says to use the magical powder, but in the prov house it says to use it on the last day of the event... If i use it now, does that mean i wont get any more event quests? or is their more if i do use it now?

wish there was special Event adventures. This is not very different besides over priced Pumpkins everywhere....

You can build all nine at once. But the small have an 8 hour cycle, the medium's have a 4 hour cycle, and the large is 1 hour. That severely limits the value of bufs.

CORRECTIONS:

In the gemshop: says Silos are limited to 3 (not 5)
Zombie Buff: 4x 12 hours, not 3x 3 hours

everything looks good however I've got to mention, 1 pumpkin every 8 hours out of a small field so that's three a day and a silo costs 500...I guess it's tradition, that you have to overkill the production chain to do anything. 7 small fields working the entire event just to get 1 silo not entirely sure it's worth it. Heck that quest to raise you stock by 20 pumpkins is going to take 7 days.....
