really?
this is quoted from BB_meesherbeans from before last nights sched maint.
Update for everyone as of noon EST 10/3/2012:
There should be a fix for these log in issues applied during the weekly scheduled maintenance tonight/tomorrow morning. We apologize for the frustrations, and if you still have any other problems after this, please contact our support team so they can look into it.
meesher, i kno it isnt ur fault. the people above you in your company have a bad habit of not living up to their word. my only question is, why were the login issues not fixed during last nights scheduled maint as your superiors told you they would be?

LostSoul, Probably because they dont know what the true cause is.... Can't fix something if you dont know the cause...
It's like someone having a unknown virus... but the person dies from it because the doctors couldn't figure out why...

so that means we get to go a week without logging in then? wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
best fix it BB. pray i dont pick up my xbox controller and play skyrim ;p you wont see me for another 6months ;p

Because the issue still alludes them and having players not able to login is a real problem, perhaps?
Anyhow, Ive been getting a general server error on login 98% of the time from the time this server began. I have to refresh and then it moves on to the loading screen. I would suspect it might be the way your SSL secure login is setup/initialized , or perhaps a permissions issue with a security feature client side (Browser security/permissions) but Im totally guessing here at this point.
If you cant get it , obviously roll it back to where it was (where most people here can login) and work on it some more BEFORE you take the server down (lol).
Leaving a server down is a huge income hit and impacts your community in a negative manner.

Ya this pretty much sucks, especially because I started an adventure at about 10pm last night. It only lasts 2 days, sure hope I dont lose the XP especially since I screwed up and lost some of my XBows. Would hate it to be a lose/lose situation.
-
Time will not have passed with server off (I assume). That is the most logical way to handle things.
-
the server is offline, but things still progress ingame, same as during normal weekly sched maint. roman and bystander, i guessed they didnt kno what the true issue was, i guess what i meant to ask is: why was a mod told tht the issue would be fixed during the sched maint when there obviously was no guarantee tht it would be fixed then. promises should not be made that cannot be kept

so much for german engineering.LAME.

On another note...If you geniuses can't keep your servers up and running I'm outta here and you can bet i'll spread the word on your lack of Technical skills.
