Agreed...and what stuns me here is that in-game Dreadmine is a very helpful player...so seeing his response here is well stunning

yeah....it amazes me how some people can switch off and on like that..... but ya know what, i suppose this could be a good thing depending how you look at it, there are alot of ppl quitting, so maybe that will help Ubi an BB fix this once and for all..... (this has happened before, and will certainly happen again if they dont do it correctly) and maybe next time before putting a game out they will have it tested and re-tested so they wont have to fix bugs on this real time game (which is not only time consuming, but causes alot of other issues , such as the one we are experiencing now) i mean, this game has been OUT for over a year already...... why havent the kinks been worked out yet? someone must have jumped the gun on the release date, or else we wouldnt be having this convo!
yep released from closed beta much too soon now we have a test server to try and fix and add to the "finished one"
You all are speaking as if the "rollback" is optional; quite often they are not. Data corruption, especially from the addition of new data, can corrupt a server so completely that the only way to fix the problem is to remove the corruption and reinstall a new, and I do mean completely different, set of data; usually this comes from a backup. Unfortunately, this means that the changes that have taken place from the time of that data save WILL NOT EXIST any longer. Fortunately for those that have spent money on this or other web based games, those funds are almost always kept on another style of server, not the expensive one that is rigged for intensive use of thousands of people at the same time. Coincidentally, this is why there is a time delay while making monetary purchases before the purchase shows up "in-game".
It is my distinct opinion that the overworked souls at UBI and BB are franticly trying to remove the corruption and restore that back-up data. Once that is done they will attempt to return the purchases to those that have made them. After which they will probably make reparations to everyone in the form of some in-game reward, such as gems, coins, a special building, or the like... Possibly all three, but don't hold your breath. These bonuses may be adjusted by level, or contain level restrictive (oh you can't use that until your level 35, 40, 50 etc) materials.
Hope to see most of you return when the game starts to function again.
BTW this is a war game; you fight bandits constantly after level 17. It is NOT a PVP game. It never has been, and if it becomes one there will have to be some serious game reform. In its current form, the game cannot withstand the pressures involved in that kind of format. If that is the type of game you like, try another as this one will never be your cup of tea.

I can understand that many players are frustrated and upset because they are afraid that they may lose gems that they have paid cash for but there are viable solutions to that problem. Most of you don't even know what you may have lost or what will be done about it so you are ranting and raving and getting upset before you even know if it will be an issue. Let's give them a chance before we rant and rave about these issues. Remember that they serve a world wide base of players that have access to a computer and that want to play the game on the server that is down. I just want them to fix the problem as well and as fast as they can so I can get back to my game and my contacts on the game.

"Incremental backup"....................just saying might be a good idea!!
And I produce 100+ gems a day I expect it all to be there when things are turned back on. 50 gems just isn't going to cut it for me!
So, you spent $100 USD to buy a gem mine... I can see why you'd be dissatisfied. The rest of this is NOT directed at CognitiveChaos. This game is... something to pass the time. Some of you "chat" with "friends" and pass more time. Some of you have done what people have done on the internet for almost 20 years and with pen and paper for 100+ years before that... you have made connections with people and things that seem more real than they are because you WANT them to be that way... period. End of story. Have some perspective. This really IS just an internet game... nobody is dying here. Nobody got shot, hurt, or had to have chemo-therapy to get here.... R.E.L.A.X.
love how ya lump everyone into one group by stating the "you all act...." i dont believe for one second that 3/4 are acting like this wasnt necessary.... i am perdy sure people were just talkin bout how ubi and bb might have been able to go about it a diff way than they did..... maybe should have stated last night when we went down for maintenance that they would be fixing this and it would be down for 24/h or a cpl days...... not giving their consumers answers wasnt the best most reasonable choice on their part....
Just fix the F'ing thing ya bastards
I think a free Veteran General would be cool.
