Hard to say what it should be just yet as we do not know how long it will be down and not less when they bring it some players do not play on the weekend and will lose out on Advs they have started or mines that they normal have sleeping so there is alot that can be lost unless they sleep everyone island until they get back online when they do get it fixed but even then you lose out on the 36 hour buff that you may have paid for or traded for, but it would be a better place to start then losing months of work in the game. Just my 2 cents
We know BB staff are about but still keeping us in the Dark, It must be really hard work to keep people informed. and how many new tabs do we need to get our points across im sure we all want the same thing ....... THE SETTLERS ONLINE not OFFLINE.
I just don't understand why (y'all/them) can't tell us what's really going on. Nor will you tell us WHY you can't tell us.
My contact with support team has only been positive, and I believe the BB-team understands the frustration a downtime and rollback means for the players. Personally I think they will make a fair compensation. The suggestion of 100 gems will make most ppls laugh. Filling the entire storehouse, a compensation with gems, gem mine, copper mines or other valuable items seems more likely to me. I cant think BB will let the community down on this matter.
Agreed Golarga....... I believe the BB-team understands and is doing what they can to fix the situation as well........ If we can't play that means they can't play..... Can you imagine how addicted THEY are to this game........ I mean for heavens sakes they work there too lmao
I hope it's not a 1 month rollback like the first couple of posts predicted. 1 Month is literally 40% of all my progress.
I'd suspect the issues are far deeper than the login issues...the crash and login problem were simply a culmination of long standing issues.
The server has been unstable for a long time...chat crashes, zone change issues, random short crashes, and severe lag. This is beyond login problems.
BB_Meesherbeans...I have vocally complained in a lot of threads, venting my frustration. That being said, I can only imagine your frustration, being the sole person on the front lines. The lack of updates is frustrating, but thanks for your efforts and for not providing bad information or false hope, there's something to be said for blatant honesty. Keep the updates coming, even if it's "I'm in the dark as much as you, but I'm still shooting nerf darts at everyone until I get answers".
Now, back to my whining.....
Where is everyone getting this "week to a month" information? There is no excuse at all for it to be more than a day at the very most, they have to have daily backups of the game that they can revert to or they are not worth a ****.. seriously.. as software company of that size has to have a solid backup plan. /grumble grumble

Does anyone know how long the "real problem" has been going on? Login issues? NO. The only reason they would roll back is because they believe some players have been getting something "extra" by exploiting a bug or loophole. The problem is, they made the bug, not us players. Anyway, if they are halfway smart the compensation will be so great that almost all of us say "Ok, I forgive you." and happily return to rebuilding wheat fields and copper mines.
I regretfully bought 100. dollars worth gem the night before this maintance.. I upgraded all my land and bought new items. If they roll back do I get my money back, Gems back or is that just your gain and my loss?

"I'll let you know when I know something" is complete BS. It's more like...we know what's wrong, but since its so FUBAR, lets not let the player base in on it, or they might get even more pissed off then they already are.
How can you take our hard earned money and then when your servers/software breaks down completely keep us in the dark as to what is going on?
Out of all the flash games I've played and put money into (and believe me, there are a LOT) I've NEVER experience such disrespect and complete lack of tact on the providers part.
I find the way BB is handling this issue completely disgusting!
I am feelng the same way :( I put 100.00 in gems into my game and island wendsday night.Thursday game is off and now a rollback!! Hope I didt wast my money for nothing, this will be the last dollar I ever put into this game!!

I understand that problems can arise. I understand that it might take more time than we'd like to get them resolved. My main concern revolves around compensation and how it will be applied.
I Believe compensation should be awarded across the board as Everyone is affected albeit Not Equally. For instance, there are those who bought gems during the rollback period whilst there are others who didn't. Higher lvl players stand to lose more Time and Resources than lower lvl players. For this reason, BB cannot possibly compensate everyone fairly/evenly with a single fixed amount of gems for all. That's just if they consider Recouping our Losses and not accounting for our Pain and Suffering with a few bonus gifts like unlimited copper mines or heaven forbid, a gem pit, wowsa! :)
Higher lvl players who play daily are constantly upgrading buildings from either lvl 3-4 or lvl 4-5. This takes gold/marble and/or ewp/granite, neither of which is easy to amass, not to mention upgrading to lvl 4 takes one day day whilst upgrading to lvl 5 takes an entire week! All the while trying to balance the rest of the chain which is affected by specific upgrades. High lvl players should be compensated the amount of gems it takes to restore their last day of play INSTANTLY as TIME and RESOURCES are definitely factors that will affect them more so than lower lvl players who are upgrading to lvl 2 and lvl 3 with resources that are easier to come by and the maximum time to upgrade a building is an hour. Lower lvl players can most likely recoupe their islands within a day or so.
All my storehouses are lvl 4. I added to and upgraded my gold smelters/coinages to lvl 3 and half of my exo mills to lvl 2. I had also upgraded to lvl 4: 16 farms; 4 bakers; 8 flour mills; 4 copper smelters; 2 b swordsmiths; 5 pine cutters and 7 forresters. That's 46 lvl 4 upgrades over the past month @500gc plus 300 marble a pop. That's a lot of coin and marble to lose. Can they duplicate the auctions I won to get the gc to help finance that? What about my gains on the TT, how can I recover that? What about the resources I had maxed out on in my 117K storage? And I know precisely what quantities (to the nearest 1K) of each resource I already had in storage- I check this everyday with the economy overview. ALL this all took TIME and ENERGY to acquire/achieve and is not easily duplicated. Being awarded the gems to recoupe this in a day would be fair and reasonable compensation in my opinion.
The other consideration is XP - the Time and Advs it took to arrive at a certain point, only to have to do it over again. In the interest of saving TIME, we should be awarded enough gems to purchase the number of lets say for example, NORDs advs to get us back to where we were at the time of the emergency maintenance. I for one was on the final attack of a NORDs that would have brought be 50K away from lvling to 45. I lost that adv/loot/xp and I'd like to get back to where I was as soon as possible. The fasted way I know of is the NORDs adv and how ever many it would take to get me back to where I was yesterday (50K of lvling to 45), I'd appreciate being sent the gems to do just that. This past week alone I had done 2 VTV, 2 BK and 2 Nords and the day before the emergency maintenance I had just acquired a RB adv and another BK.
In conclusion, it will take more than a few Token Gems or Gifts to get myself and other higher lvl players back on track than lower lvl players and this in my opinion, should be factored into the compensation plan. Ppl who bought gems during the rollback period also need to be compensated for their losses fairly. Ultimately we all want to get back to where we were in the shortest amount of time possible. I'm hoping that BB will appreciate our frustrations and our loyalty by coming up with a suitable compensation for each of us.

Ok some im in the same boat as alot of you about 60-80 dollars worth of gem purchases complete map finally obtained just started another quest.
The real problem i see here for the people who bought gems is a) is there a record of it and b) if there is then they can compensate if they do a rollback, the whole rollback concept to me sounds stupid imo its going to cuase more problems then solve them id say get the sever fixed yes everyone will be having to redo alot of mines ect. but compensate on us of what we had not what we had a month or a week ago thats just ludacris to be thinking that way and honestly i dont see how that fixing anything.

I'd love to know what games the staff are playing while waiting on TSO to come back online. Reading these forums with the same people complaining over and over is getting old lol
Maybe if we start a thread about religion, or politice the BB will take it down, it least we will know if someone is there!!! If it sits there until Tues am well know they had a great weekend while we are waiting.. lol just a thought :)
Sorry for all who spent real money in a free game....It took, for me, 1 year to get to Lv. 47 1/2..:). Got 140k XP in the last week, played like crazy adv. after adv....Is a pain to lose 140k XP! But...never spent a dime...Got 15k+ coin in my vault + other exotic goodies...hope I won't lose it all (I'd feel like Robinson Crusoe on my own Island :)) Hope BB_Friday will give us some gems to compensate...like 1k gems/roll back day...:)) )....I'm really sorry for low Lv. players...or new players! And are less than 2 weeks until the Halloween Event...Hope the servers will be back by then

There is a problem with the server. Fine. Roll it back, everyone is where they were X hours/days/weeks ago with the same $hit you had then. All you lost some real life time spent playing A FREAKING GAME.
If you lost hard earned dollars, euros, rupees, or whatever... you have a valid complaint and I'm sure it will be taken care of by TPTB.

Hey Morg and Sgt and whoever else is from our guild is here letting u know i have started a game on the European English server Newfoundland realm I needed my settler fix and couldnt wait any longer LMAO but will keep checking back here to hopefully have this game back and we can be back together :-)
Mac... read my previous post about compensation concerns to understand where some of us are coming from. It's not just about lost Time, there are lost Resources, GC earned in auction/TT, and XP as well.
The rollback will have a greater impact on higher lvl players and on those who invested gems during that period. All we want is to retain what we already put the time and effort into without having to try and duplicate what can or can't be repeated.
My island and the time I spend in this game can be likened to a ZEN garden.
I can't believe I put as much money into this game as I did and planned to invest more. I would be ashamed to say how much I spent here. This really aggravates me to no end! I will be the first to admit I was the idiot that spent way too much money on "beta" game. We all should have thought of that huh?
