Why is a rollback required?

Login problems do not require a rollback, if they do your design/architecture person/team needs to be fired. Rollbacks are a drastic step that are reserved for game breaking exploits, especially when you are talking about a real time game like this, you are essentially throwing away whatever the entire player base has accomplished for some set amount of time. It would be nice to have a post saying it will be rolled back to September 1st 2011 or something like that, saying it will be rolled back when it comes on line doesn't really tell me anything when everyone wants to know how much am I going to lose.

Currently I can barely bring myself to care enough about this game to continue laying down 10,000 wheat fields and wells everyday, luckily I have good tv shows to watch while I'm clicking away. Everyday I ask myself why I continue playing this game, maybe Ubisoft is doing me a favor by throwing away my time in the rollback, maybe it will be annoying enough for me to walk away from this game like so other games after I finally lose interest.

The whole thing's actually quite funny; it's based on a problem with an endless gold node which requires an economic rollback. Sounds like parrot-duping.

I just purchased 7 watermills for 1800gc ea. and was waiting to complete level 4 upgrades another 100gc plus 500gc plus marble each. This works out to 16,800gc plus marble that I might lose in a rollback not to mention other more minor improvements. At 2:1 gem trading that's about 8400 gems worth possibly lost with this rollback just on watermills. I hope if this happens I'm reimbursed. Plus I think this would be a good time for the management to roll out a Super Happy Hour Sale where they offer 2 for 1 or half off gem purchases. These things would only be fair to us loyal followers of this game. I'm level 50 and have been a player for almost a year. It will be interesting to see how much the management values us players. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER WORDS!

I want to know whats getting rolled back; because if I lose the stuff I paid for I should get remburst.

You won't lose anything really.if you bought it with gems they will be returned . if bought with gold that will be there or what you traded for it will be there. a roll back just costs a day or two of work. They have to find the problem though before they can figure out how far to roll it back. which for me means my adventure is less completed or even not started, or worst i didn't find it yet. which sucks bigtime but not the end of the world. Relax and let them fix it. people always wave the dollars they spent to try to get more free stuff. stop whining and have a glass of wine( or your favorite poison ) and chill. You don't think they wish the game was up and running.

So if you have a bad production run at work and have to start the job over, you will not receive a paycheck for that week. But don't worry, you will have what you started with before the initial production run, all you are losing is the time invested in that week of work.

Just redo everything you did the previous week, and you will receive the reward you originally received for that time investment before it was taken away.

This would be the same stupid argument.

It's still a matter of time invested turned into time lost.

Ubisoft to make this situation fair, give me a ROLLBACK REFUND for all of the money I spent on this game the past 11 months to purchase gems. It is just a rollback and I am sorry for the inconvenience to you. I will fix this quickly because I care about you, I really, really do. If they want to make good about doing a roll back, and we lose what we gained they should make it easy for us to go to another server without having to open a new account, and give us at least 5000 gems as compensation for our enjoyment...lets see if that flies.

Lets see if they get it rigththis time and actually repair anything.

How many people were actually affected by the log in failure? I belong to a guild and only 1 member that I know of was affected...... seems like a large waste of time and effort on their part...

Also I am sure that unless they have found a way to pause the entire game (which I am sure they did not) even if they opened it up right now we would all need about a week to even get back to where we were when they shut it down........ just seems damned strange that it is taking so long to fix it
