Not your fault
Look BB i dont hate you like most people do right now you are doing just fine but all we want is answers like what time will the server be back up and yes i understand you dont have answers for that yet but could you have out of game events to make us concentrate on somthing else and one more thing its kind of funny BB_mesherbeans just got here and now she has to deal with this so people LET OFF BB its not their fault.

Hmm.. its probably their fault, but I dont think it was on purpose lol, and I know the coding guys are all sweating and swearing right now trying to get it to work. Its a fickle business.
-
I blame the guy that sells hotdogs on the corner. He did this
-
I blame the guy who hit "No" instead of "Yes" when it asked him if he wanted to keep a backup copy.

New player here. Was it frustrating? Sure. Was it a global conspiracy? No.
I'm glad it's back up because I'm enjoying the game so far, but I don't have any $$$ in it yet...that WOULD be nerve-wracking.
Thanks to all who worked to bring it back online ASAP; your efforts are appreciated. My only suggestion is to ask the Powers That Be to schedule hourly updates, even if there's nothing to say other than "...we have caffeine IV's inserted in our veins and we're still working on it. We think that the XYZ crashed and that's what's so challenging for us, but there'll be another update in an hour. Hang in there, and thank you all for your patience and understanding. Send more caffeine."
There are enough savvy IT folks here to understand the problem more fully and therefore treat the process with more understanding if you share the info in more detail. It may also keep the some of the pressure off your backs, too. Many thanks for the hard work!

First of all, any IT people worth a hoot today are running VM (virtual machine) farms. Simply put when a physical server goes down, you can tranfer all its processes to another server and be back up in very short order. Second, backups should be done incrementally throughout the day and then a full backup when the service is least used. I guess UBI never heard of any of this.

well I run a crew that repairs equipment if they took 3 days to repair it and would not tell me what the problem was and then nothing was fixed I'd fire all of them.

14 noble deeds gone...sure as hell not my fault. This had better be one serious compensation package for how bad they messed up this time. The taking away of gems and gems purchased items it theft, not an oops. They said it wouldn't affect the purchased gems and yet although I have the same gems I had when the game failed...I am missing all the items I bought with my other gems....want those back like yesterday UBISOFT!!!!

Had the server been stable for the past month or so, had the various issues not been known, had the culminating crash not been evidenced by reported bugs, poor server performance and various other issues.....it would not be their fault. By their lack of action for these known issues, I do hold them to blame.
Matters no longer, moving on. Best of luck :)
