new trade system feedback
1) Filtering is completely broken, or too aggressive. Here's a simple thing your QA guys should have done already.
1- Open the trade with ALL filters checked, take note of how many pages you can scroll through, right now it is 15 for me.
2- uncheck all filters except basic items and click refresh, right now I only ever see 1 page of basic items
3- move to the next resource filter and check it and uncheck all of the others, hit refresh, as I move down the filter list I currently see 1 page for basic, intermediate, advanced, expert, adventures, buffs, and special.
4- so the math, with all filters checked I have 15 pages, in going through each filter individually I end up seeing only 7 pages... where did the other 8 pages of trades go?
2) Columnar sorting - you threw away columnar sorting, that is critical. Evaluating all trades of the same type is must easier to do when you can look at all of them as a group, it is easy to spot outliers as well as to just get a sense for the value of a given item. Right now you have jump around from one resource type to the next or use the filtering which is too aggressive or outright broken (see above). There is some kind of sorting but it is incredibly unhelpful/not even useful. Try ordering by the name of the resource and forget trying to get tricky with the quantities because your current attempt at this makes the sorting terrible. Ascending/Descending doesn't work, I've sort of seen it work once, but well it is bad, your old sorting was WAY better. Any sort takes you back to page 1.
3) Trade notifications- there are none, and I don't see them in the history tab. There is no feedback mechanism to the players that anything is happening, this is called human factors engineering, hire someone better than the person you have now, or listen to that guy.
4) Free slots? - when you post your first trade it says 1/4 free slots, after you post that trade and go back to post a second trade because the GUI said you have 4 free slots, the next slot costs 3gc and the next 6gc, where did the other 3 "free slots" go? and how do I use them? Again human factors engineering, you guys are trying to communicate something and I as a user of the interface have nfc what you are doing/tell me.
5) Search - lol you are executing a wildcard search of the traders name, the selling item, and the buying item. I searched for b, many trades were horseback, crossbow, Baskets, and then I arrived at a trade of 89 Iron swords for 9900 water from barogna. Why would you include players names? I'm not interested in trading for names, all we care about are the resources, it seems like the search needs to be modified to evaluate only resources. It should probably just be focused on resource in the offering column. In any case the search needs a little help it isn't clear what it is doing for you.
6) Need to be able to see more results/resize the trade window - all the trades are squished into that little box. Which results in an awful lot of scroll wheel movements. The limited number of results/pagination makes it difficult get through all of the items in a timely manner. I don't have time to spend browsing stuff for hours on end. As a result my daily buying and selling has taken quite a hit.
7) anti new player - established players want to move large lots, so they will post them in large quantities, players sub 30 or so will be denied access to trade with anyone trading in large quantities because they won't have the resources or the storage to handle that kind of trading. When you are starting out you can do a lot of trading because there are tons of supply chain management conundrums, with this new system a lot of the trades won't be accessible to you, so they will be clutter and will make it take longer to find the trades you care about. Yes you can filter, but if you've read my previous points you'd realize that isn't that helpful.
8 too cluttered - there are 33 pages of things posted because they stay posted for 6 hours. Bring back the 10 minute timeout, so that there is less garbage to wade through. You could leave longer timers for the posts that people pay for, but in this case having so many trades is making the system unusable. You created a system that doesn't scale due to over crowding, so you need to prevent it from getting overloaded.
