Sat up build que to build an iron mine once resources were available. Decided to cancel build order before resources became available. Iron ore deposit dissapeared with the unfinished mine. Repeated event to find it is repeatable.

I haven't tested this myself, but I've heard people say that when you do this, (cancel the build before the building is complete), you don't have to send your Geo back out to find that deposit again. Supposedly, even though it doesn't show the deposit, you can still build the mine.
But the bottom line is that this functionality's been around a really long time, so the message would be: Don't cancel mine builds. :)
I just had this bug happen to me.
I queued an Iron Mine to be built. Cancelled the Iron Mine from the queue before it started. The iron deposit is gone. I closed my browser and restarted the game to see if it was just a graphical glitch, but it's still gone. Also, I tried just putting the iron mine back where the deposit should be, but it never turned green to let me build it, so I think it's truly gone.
Lame, since it'll take an hour for one of my geologists to get it back!
