Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Time span: October 22 – November 5
Now that we’ve seen some amazing pumpkin stencils in our Pumpkin Stencil Contest, it’s time to take carving knives (or paints) to your pumpkins and show us what you can do with those pesky squashes! Find yourself a pumpkin and give them a Settlers Online themed makeover. What kind of things can be carved/painted onto a pumpkin? Here are a few examples:
- The Settlers Online logo
- Your avatar name
- Your guild’s name/tag
- A favorite general or resource node
The more creative you are the better! Please keep in mind that this may require using sharp objects and vegetables – make sure not to hurt yourself while preparing your awesome pumpkin!
Prizes
- 1st place: 4,000 gems
- 2nd place: 2,000 gems
- 3rd place: 1,000 gems
Rules
- You must have one game account.
- Underage players must get their parent’s permission first.
- Do not use trademarked imagery from other games/IPs.
- Your avatar name must be a part of the photo in some physical way. For example, carve/paint your name into the pumpkin or put a card with it next to the pumpkin. If the avatar name is not visible and fully readable in the photo, your submission will not be counted. This is mandatory to avoid cheating or using pictures from other people, and so adding your name in digitally afterward is not enough.
- Participants agree that Blue Byte/Ubisoft is allowed to announce the winners and present their submitted pictures. Channels that may be used to announce the winners and show their work are the websites, forums, Facebook groups and Twitter channels of The Settlers Online.
How to enter
- Post a photograph of your work in the designated thread. If you find questionable/inappropriate content being posted, please flag it for an employee to check.
- The picture must be posted in the specific thread for that event. Only pictures that follow all the guidelines (content, deadline, posted in correct thread) will qualify to win.
Please ensure that the picture is at least 800x600 pixels. The forum does shrink pictures, so we encourage people to please use a picture service, such as http://imageshack.us.
Changes to your pumpkin will not be allowed after it has been posted, so please be sure it’s your final submission!
The deadline is November 5th 2012, at 23:59 PST.
The Ubisoft/Blue Byte team will be choosing three winners, and they will be announced on November 9th on the forums.
