Halloween Contest Bonanza!

We're really excited to announce three Halloween-themed contests, starting this Monday (October 22nd). In order to make sure everyone has ample time to create some awesome entries, we're letting you all know in advance. These contests will run from October 22nd - November 5th. All our players are more than welcome to submit one entry in each individual contest. Please check out each one below, and have fun with it! Submissions will open (complete with new threads) on Monday the 22nd of October.

Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Find yourself a pumpkin and give them a Settlers Online themed makeover.

Short Story/Poem Contest
Prepare your pencils and keyboards, ready your minds and write a short horror story OR short horror poem involving our beloved Settlers.

Emulate Eliot Contest
Take a picture copying Eliot the Pumpkin Master's pose!

it was worth looking into the contests, I got to see kate posing as a pumkin lol

Darkness descends, foul creatures and sounds abound throughout the land. Sweat trickles down the brows of the villagers, the smell of fear pervades the very air they breathe. The cloying stench of decay perfumes the ambiance. Whispers, hush tones are the only proof that this island has any life on it at all; they fear this time above all else. A sickening reminder of their shattered past, promises broken, and promises that must be kept. They prepare the children once more this year for the sacrifice owed to the land that grants them prosperity. Cries and screams gain urgency, and tempo, till they rip apart the very seams of this grim time. Blood once again drips and fills the earth, soaking it up hungrily with bestial purpose. The sacrifice has been made to cover the sins of the ancestors long dead that promised too much just to ensure the island would thrive forever more.

What uopn a Hallowed eve did Bob the settlers' eyes percieve? Upon a coal black horse sat a giant pumpkik with face ablaze. Bob gave a shout and began to run but his fear had filled his mind with haze. Into the darkened woods Bob ran, in vain his sounds he tried to hush. Bobs, fears were met! He became Pumpkin Mush!

It could be just me, but I have a feeling that the stories may have to be posted into the thread where the stories have to be posted.

yea i noticed that after the fact lol. just was in my head so had to write it. i will move it tommorrow to where it belongs

Just as for any "art" or "creation", there's no criticism. However, I have a beef with the stench-perfume dichotomy...

(as a verb) To Perfume = To impart a PLEASANT smell to...
(as a noun) Perfume = A fragrant liquid typically made from essential oils extracted from flowers and spices, used to impart a pleasant smell to one's body or...
(Merriam-Webseter uses "pleasant odor" instead)
Is there any way you can use a more suited verb relating or being in concert with "decaying STENCH"? How about the antonym "stink up"?
