A quiet peace had settled over the Isle now that the Pumpkin Master had been banished. Nerves that only a few weeks ago had been frayed were now tingling in anticipation with excitement for the coming Holidays. Working freely, the settlers gathered in the harvests, setting some aside for the Great Feasts to come. The tavern was full once again, with many a settler tossing down brew after brew, regaling others with tales of hard fought victories. A few expressed their happiness at no longer needing to replant their wheat fields on a regular basis, for the silos now did this daily chore. Others were thankful for the various buffs that saw their yields triple and quadruple for days on end. Even the Grim Reaper took a Holiday from snatching souls to join in the mirth for he knew his day would soon be coming again. All in all, the people were quite thankful they had come through it all, intact, for no one saw the foreboding clouds just on the horizon.....ifthey had, they might have been thankful to have died in the last of the great battles....
To our leader, a lady brave and true,
We thank ye for our bread and brew,
For baskets, sandwiches, and fish platters
(That we hope won't make us any fatter.
For swords and soldiers that protect us,
And make the bandits not molest us.
We thank ye for events of enjoyment,
And also the lack of unemployment.
We thank ye for fields of golden wheat,
And pumpkins that make pie so sweet.
We thank ye for the wood that goes
Into production of longbows.
Thank you for marble and granite brought by you;
Without it the nobles would be homeless too.
But we're not homeless; that was only a joke
To make this poem all funny (I hope!)
Thank you for horses.
Thank you for our town.
Thank you for cavalry to run the bandits down.
Thank you for everything you've done this year.
But more than anything else,
We thank you for an endless supply of beer!
As I look out over my fields of grain, I pause with a heart full of gratitude all that I have been given. We have peace in the Kingdom thanks to our powerful leader. He always makes sure we are stocked with supplies that allow us to do our work tirelessly and without complaint. We are thankful for our homes (although I would like a softer mattress) where we can see our friends daily. With the school system up and running, the knowledge our children are gaining is amazing. I am not sure about this internet thing, hopefully it is just a passing fad. Still, we are bound by ties stronger than ourselves as we build together this great land. Ok, back to work, this field won't harvest itself.
My Name is Herkimer.
I am thankful for the sun that shines on our kingdom, that makes our grain and trees grow.
I am thankful for the many fish that swim in our waters, and for our fisherman who catch them.
I am thankful for our miners who harvest copper, iron, and coal so that we can defend ourselves against the evil bandits.
I am thankful for our masons and marble masons, and the cutters, foresters and saw mill workers. Without them I wouldn't have a home.
I am thankful for the farmers who tend our wheatfields, for the millers and bakers who make our bread.
I am thankful for the tool-makers. Without them, none of us would have jobs.
I am thankful for the brave military members, who defend us against the bandits.
I am thankful to live in this land of wonder.
I am thankful for the generosity of my friends and fellow guild members, and for the opportunity to give as generously as they.
I thankful for being alive and getting a second chance at life.
As I (Irma) place my fruit into the baskets on this Thanksgiving day, "What is the one thing that I am most thankful for?" I thought to myself. Is it the fish platers that Fred the fisherman supplies me, or the freshly baked loafs of bread from baker Bob. But I must not forget about general Jhon who protects me from the bandits that hide behind the bushes, Steve the steel worker, Carl the copper smelter and all the others that slave from day to day making the supplies that our village needs to grow and become a great kingdom. Yes I am thankful for them all... but.....I really think the one thing that I am most thankful for is.....I am the only Woman one this Island!!!
I am thankful for the sound of gobbling turkeys instead of that dreadful music, but mostly I am thankful that my friends were able to get that dern pumpkin off of my head.
What a year it has been! It’s hard to believe that 6 months ago the government of my old home collapsed. My friends and I saw the writing on the wall and knew we would have to find a new place to live. We searched high and low. Some journeyed to try out different places but none of them suited—until we found Settlers. This brings me to the first and foremost reason for gratitude: freedom of speech. Valued above all else by my buddies, this proved to be amazingly elusive. To our joy, Settlers encouraged communication between friends.
As “the old country” fell to ruin, our scouts checked out Settlers and urged us to come. I waited a bit, let others get started to show the way, dealt with the grief of leaving my old home. Finally, at the end of June, I took the plunge and made the journey to Settlers for the first time. My friends had formed a guild and I was immediately invited to join. I am so thankful to the one who walked me through the first steps of getting a permit to land on the island and cutting down my very first trees. A great guide was provided and all my friends helped out a lot.
I continue to be so thankful for my guild! So many old friends, and so many new ones! In the beginning it felt as if they were speaking a different language. I just listened, but anytime I asked, they were quick to explain. They were also great help when I got myself in a jam. How many times did I get stuck on a strange island when I was off adventuring? I’ve lost count. Simply could not figure out how to get my loot home! But my friends stuck by me and talked me out no matter how dense I seemed!
It is with great contentment now that I breathe a prayer of thanksgiving as I look around at my thriving island community…or communities, I should say! How we have grown! So many babies born, so many new travelers have arrived, and even enemy soldiers have laid down their arms and taken up residence as farmers and mine workers! And did you see the two spanking-new silos on the southern end of the island? We are moving on up in the world!
I must say we bake the best bread here, and we are all so grateful to enjoy the purest water and the best brew of any island around! The farms are thriving, our horses are sleek and happy—and just take one look at the round bellies of our settlers and you can see how well fed we all are!
I’m grateful for good foresters who always keep our forests lush. It’s the saddest thing when I adventure to other islands. Those bad guys do not have a clue how to take care of their trees. Breaks my heart to see their islands covered with stubs. There’s another area to be thankful for: lots of bad pirates, witches and other nasty characters have been destroyed and their islands now made available for new settlers.
At this time, it is only right for us to stop and remember with gratitude all the recruits who have given their lives in order to establish our secure way of life. How many times have our generals been wounded to the very edge of death so that we can be free and have bread on our tables!
I am grateful for a reliable government overseeing all of our islands. It’s been strong and dependable. We did have a rough spell a bit ago—everything went down (rather scary), but the government was really honorable about it. Not only did they get things up and running again, but provided great gifts to help us get back on our feet. And there have been continued improvements since then—especially with the commerce system. So much to be thankful for!
Well, my family wants me to quick yakking and join them for our thanksgiving feast. My favorite part: the best pumpkin pie ever! Seems we had a bumper crop of pumpkins this year!
With all of my gratitude,
Glorybeams

The sun began to rise in the distance casting a orange glow around the jagged edges of the mountains and illuminating the colourful fall leaves scattered on the ground. As she passed the meadow songs filled the air as the birds began to wake for the day. Ever loved the peace of waking up before sunrise with all the other settlers asleep in their beds it gave her a chance to appreciate the beauty of untouched nature.
She could picture her family waking soon to prepare for the days festivities, after all is Thanksgiving morning and her family would be hosting dinner. She started to climb the cobblestone steps leading up to Mesto’s house the door swung open and he stepped out.
“Happy Thanksgiving Ever” he said with a smile.
She giggled at his excited tone before responding “Good morning? Someone is a little excited for turkey”
“I'm more excited to see where you find them, you always come back with the best game.”
Ever had been the hunter of her family ever since she could shoot a bow. Her learning to hunt, freed up her father and brothers for working at the mines and smelters and with the exploration of new islands becoming more common the materials for weapons made more gold then food and required stronger bodies. Workers and Soldiers alike however had the day off today. Ever lead Mesto though her usual hunting trails laughing at his Turkey jokes heading to her secret meadow where her father and her had found wild Turkeys every year.
"Ever what did the Turkeys mom say to her bad son"
"what?"
"if your papa could see you now he would turn over in his gravy" They laughed as they took the last turn around a large boulder and out toward the meadow.
Having company on the hunt was nice, Ever was thankful among many other things that Mesto had come with her this year. All around the year had brought so much to be thankful for and there was more to come. Her mothers harvest been good, the island had built new School’s, and there were plans being made for new huts for the hunters like herself to work in. Food had not been not a concern this year there was never a shortage of fish on or meat on the island and with wheat production doing well there was always brew to keep the people happy. She was thankful that all the settlers had such a prosperous place to call home, and she was thankful that her family and friends had remained safe and would be together to celebrate the years good fortune with dinner.
They readied there bows entering the meadow, turkeys were gobbling as Evers arrow released.
Family and friends gathered round the large oval table as the two huge turkeys were brought in on platters, candles were lit in the center and conversation died as people began to say thanks to the years fortune.
The mayor said thanks for the riches the year had brought, followed but her parents who said thanks to have such a blessed family. Mesto's turn came next saying thanks for his new wife who sat to his side holding his hand. Uthren and the other Knights of Catan said thanks, on various conquered battle story's. When Everdeans turn came around, she raised her head to take in the gathering around her, with a never ending list of what she was thankful for she could think of only one answer.
"I am thankful for the life, without it I could not be thankful for everything else."
My settlers are THANKFUL for those serving in the Military.
My settlers are thankful for their creators, for without them they would not exist.
The Blue sky, the golden sun, the emerald grass, the abundant game and fish, the minerals and ores, and the basic rules of life without strife.
My settlers are thankful for their friends, family, military, and especially their mayor who is a brilliant tactician. After celebrating the mayor's birthday this past Sunday, and a well thought out plan, they are the most thankful that Wild Mary no longer threatens their island. Now they get to enjoy much better living with plenty of housing and volunteer military service. (They are also fairly thankful that their neighboring island has 16 silos and a really friendly mayor.)
thinkful for all my stuff and level's ive done with my guildie's thinkful for a life of battle thinkful for u all here on the game and for all to have a happy thinks giveing :)
Well, when my dog died a few weeks ago I think I just lost all happiness in my life. My dog Moses was my pal since I was 10. Im now 22. A 12 year bestfriendship. He was my confidant, my best friend. He never judged me, he never made me feel bad about myself. He was just a shaggy dog with a lot of love to share. He was always happy and always ready to look me in the eyes and let me feel that everything was OK. When he started to get sick is when I started playing TheSettlersOnline. I just couldn't cope with the medicine regimen he had to start taking and how his attitude changed from a rambunctious, fun loving mutt to a depressed and sad dog. It was odd to see this change over just a few days, but the cancer he had just made him a different dog. I will always remember hitting softballs with him in the backyard and how he used to scratch his butt on the deck and say "RANK ROO" (thank you) when you asked him to speak. I am thankful I knew him at all, and that he knew me.

On this day I give thanks for all my family and friends and my wish is for world peace to all..God Bless us All!!
Right now my recruits are thankful I can't log in to send them to their death!
On my Island we are thankful that none of our residences are unemployed, we are thankful for each other, we have many silos, unlimited water mills, and that our population is growing everyday with nobles. We are very thankful for our Guild ( love you guys), and for the BBs who are working hard to make changes and improve our land all the time!!
Happy Thanksgiving!! :)
Today I am thankful for making it back home from Afghanistan because there were a lot of people who did not come back to their friends and family.
Thanks for the productions of bread and meat that my island settlers will have full thanksgiving dinner and the brewer for the soldiers to enjoined for the thanksgiving eve before they go to battle with the roughneck and enemy that they need to earn their victory in their adventure.
i give thanks that wild mary and the other island bosses and all there men dont raid the settlers islands.

Jon, the settler, was stopping off at the storehouse to pick up a stack of firewood for his home tonight. Tomorrow was the Thanksgiving Celebration, which gave Jon pause to consider what he was thankful for this year. And what a difficult year it had been. Early in the year, Jon had started a courier business, taking supplies from shop to shop for a fee. The business had started off quite well, so well that his wife Anabella had left her position as teacher at the island school to do the bookkeeping.
A few months later, a recession hit the kingdom of MerryAyla, causing the island shop owners to tighten their purses and cease utilizing Jon's courier service. Fortunately, Jon was a scrapper. He had been spending time at the auctions talking with friends and watching the transactions. Jon had noticed that supplies would often sell for far less than their actual value. Jon had an idea. He began buying the under-priced supplies and reselling them for their actual value, keeping the hefty profit to feed his family. His clever wife supplemented their income tutoring island children and making clothes and linens for the island residents. The recession had ended many a business, and many a marriage in return. Fortunately for Jon, the stressful time actually strengthened his with Anabella. They had stuck together and used their creativity and talents to create their own income.
As Jon hefted the cord of wood onto his strong shoulder, a big smile crossed his face. He knew that a tasty meal and a sweet, loving wife awaited his return tonight. And for that, he felt the most thankful settler in the kingdom.
Giving thanks,
All of our hard work has paid off; it took us since we were kids to save up enough money to build our guild hall. But now it’s done; now we have a place to gather and talk with our friends and relatives. No longer will we have to communicate through the mail; hoping and guessing when the next letter will arrive. As if having a new guild hall wasn’t enough of a gift in itself; we actually finished the building before thanksgiving. This year’s thanksgiving will be the best ever; friends, family, and everyone else on the island will be feasting at the guild hall!
Thank you for a Thankgiving gift and for all of your job. I appreciate the time I past in the game, in my retreat they give me a usefull sensation.
I am thankful that at last I can finally make a post in these forums!
Well, enough of that, for now anyway. Here is what I am truly thankful for this holiday season. As a new settler to this wonderous land of abundance, I am thankful for all the pumpkins that Elliot the Pumpkin Master allowed me to harvest so our army could obtains it's long awaited Grim Reaper. He has been an awesome general leading his fearless troops to battle against violent Pirates and crazy cooks. He has brought back much granite and other loot as well.
I am thankful for the wells that produce water so that I am not thirsty. I look forward with anticipation to when we can finally get a watermill on our island so there will be an abundance of water for everyone.
I am thankful for the brewery that makes our brew and gives us something to wet our whistle! Can't wait to get that Friary before long either. No more running out of our brew then. You know how thirsty some of those recruits are.. won't name any names though, lol.
I am also thankful for all the bread that my wheat fields have produced that allow our army to keep recruits for our brave generals.
I am thankful for all the wild animals that wondered around this island just waiting for the hunters to bag them for the great holiday feast that the whole island partook of.
I am also thankful for the people at the stables who train the horses for our cavalry dudes. They seem to be working overtime lately. I see horses in abundance now at the stable. Maybe the stable master will be willing to sell some to the settlers so we can harvest more types of fields other than just wheat. It would be nice to have other types of farms other than just wheat. Cotton would be good. We could make textiles! Well, on to the next thing I am thankful for.
I am thankful to all our hard working settlers who work in the mines and weaponsmith shops. Mining is such a dangerous job and I am glad they are willing to do it. Without our ore miners and weaponsmiths, we wouldn't have our weapons to keep us safe.
I am thankful for the butchers that produce the necessary sausage, the bakers who produce the bread, and the fishermen who catch the fish for Aunt Irma's baskets. Without our butchers, bakers, and fishermen the production ratios on our buildings would be much slower.
I am thankful for the Mayors House and all the storehouses that are on the island so all of us settlers have a safe place to store all goods.
Lastly, I am very thankful I have the opportunity to wish each and everyone of you at Blue Byte and all the players a wonderful and happy holiday season. Thank you for fixing my account!!
I am thankful of all of my guild members and my fellow settlers but most of all, I am giving thanks to bandits for letting me defeat them and taking their treasure.
The life of a settler is not always joy and laughter. It has been a difficult work starting from nothing as a pioneer on this island. We started with just a handful of people, the simplest of resources, and enemies on every side. It has been a long haul to get to our first Thanksgiving on the Island.
I do have friends that have set out as settlers and just given up. I travel to their islands to see wasteland, empty fields, abandoned mines and gloating enemy camps. I cannot imagine the heartache of having to return home with dreams of settling the wild land dashed to pieces. Thus I am very grateful for a mayor who has stuck with the plan and we are advancing with him. There is nothing so satisfying as a job well done, a goal accomplished, and fresh hope at seeing the promise of a new land becoming fruitful.
We have seen many of our young men serve our country to their ultimate demise. I have neighbours everywhere that have sent their sons and daughters to defend the land against the savage thugs, rangers, deserters, stone throwers, skunks, and witches that wander the islands. There is much sorrow at having lost one child but today we live in peace and have given that gift to many other islanders as well. What a serenity to have an island free from enemies.
I walk the paths and roadways of our island and I don't see a huge city but I see the individual contributions of many of my friends and fellow settlers in making Kingsland a great place. It is a team effort and I appreciate the farmers, the loggers, the munitions factory worker, the craftsmen, the miner. All of these wield their trade to make a great island.
Thanks, fellow traders, fellow settlers. May your next year be every bit as prosperous and full of happiness.

A Settler's Thanksgiving Prayer
In this bountiful season, we give thanks for all the fruits of the earth and the ability to harvest them: for the crops ripening golden in the fields, for the silos full to bursting with golden grain, for the animals that live in our woodlands and the hunters that hunt them.
We give thanks for the green woods that are self-renewing, for the pine trees that feed our fires and the hardwoods that can be shaped into weapons.
We give thanks for the minerals in the earth and the miners who delve to bring them into the light.
We give thanks for the foundries, and for the fact that they don't pollute our air too badly.
We give thanks for the luxurious homes we live in and for the companionship of our friends and families.
We give thanks for the army that keeps our homeland safe, that keeps it free of bandits and pirates.
We give thanks that our explorers always manage to bring home building materials whenever we run short and find new deposits when our mines run out. We give thanks for the bountiful fish in our waters and for the men who catch them.
We give thanks for this delicious meal and for the love with which it was prepared. We feel the love all around us, and for that we can never give thanks enough.
God bless this land and all of us.
Amen

Excerpt from Suzy Settler's diary
Dear Diary
What a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am so excited. A new family moved in next door, in that beautiful noble residence. They must be rich! Anyway, my Mom invited them over for Thanksgiving dinner. After dinner, the adults sat in the kitchen drinking brew and chatting, and I had their gorgeous son all to myself. He's 17, and soooooo cute! And I am 16, so he's just the right age for me. The way he smiled at me, I think he must like me too.
We made a date for tomorrow. I'm going to show him around the settlement. I'll take him to see some of the industries around the island, and then we'll go up the river and I'll show him my secret place in the woods. Maybe we'll sit on the bank and dangle our feet in the water and let the fishes nibble our toes. I'll pack one of Aunt Irma's special baskets for a picnic. Who knows what could happen.
Mom says we should count our blessings, especially at Thanksgiving, and that's what I am thankful for: a really cute guy who likes me and is rich, too. I'm going to sleep now, dear diary, and I hope I dream of him. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Whoever brought him to me.
