This update is just sad.
If your island is all at lvl 5, you've got points to be 50+, and resources in storage overflowing, what are we to do now? The only thing we could do, is help others and store up xp. Now that's not going to be valid. Not only that, it's going to delete them, which means the resources will be lost too, if not accepted. :(

Yes, but that is also available to the PvP people. We want something that is available ONLY to those of us who are NON-PvP players. We want a NON-PvP place or SOMETHING (island, quests, adventures) for those of us who do not want to fight with others. We want a PsP (Players supportive of other Players) way to live peaceably and develop cool skills and features.Quote:

I am very very happy with some of these ideas. Updated Combat System, Science System, Campaign System, and yes even PVP!!! And who could possibly forget the long anticipated "Star-Menu Filters" lol....FINALLY!! Very cool guys. I am eagerly awaiting these new features and hope to see them implemented ASAP.

so you want resc for free ? pvp players will lose troops in battles , choice is yours your not forced to pvp im lvl 50 since may and been putting my time in ive done hundreds of advents gaining 0 xp you can grow the same as i did earning it.this is a war game after all your home island cant be attacked so stop cryin and just play the game. if its too intense try Farmville.

LITTLE TO NO PvP WILL BE AVAILABLE, You wont lose anything on your real island. think of it this way, two players are fighting each other for coins. thats it. this is only another form of an Adventure you are doing. if you want no war ever, then (quoted from NOIDEA) "if its too intense try Farmville."
(ps if you want no PvP then try a game without solders. for you level 50's out there, you chose this game to play to the top. So, welcome to the updates. slightly upsetting, but hey, this game has solders, the only way you can level up is by fighting. PvP isn't really that big of a deal.)
I agree with this.
Some of us really detest the idea of PVP, and some of us detest even more the idea of valuable resources only being available through PVP, forcing us to either PVP or go without.
So the idea of PVP in this game is not a bad idea if there were not the advantage of the valuable resources, so adding a NON-PVP portion as suggested already would be a great way to balance this out.

i'm soooooooo interested in this... n have 3 yrs of exp attk player on mmo's....
there is not an imballence or advantage against you from other players because they said all pvp would happen on a sepperate island from your own. if you dont play the pvp how can some one who does pvp have an advantage on you? your island will go as it always has
but if you think about it if they go this rout as you suggest then the non pvp players wont have to work as hard as the pvp players do to get said resources which wouldn't be fair to the pvp players... just saying.. its plain and simple if you dont want to play pvp you dont have to its a separate part of the game and to the people who decide they want to they are working for what they get!! so they earned it..
and one more point if you decide not to run adventures do you think that you should still get the same loot? and for what? just because you dont want to do a particular part of the game doesnt mean you should get the same rewards. if you decide not to build a gold mine should you get free gold? i could go on

PvP is gonna happen guys. its not a if or maybe. they already have a date set for next year. They already have the sketches needed to start. No-one is going to stop this one from coming, and it will bring new players in. and after that nasty rollback, its needed.
Regarding the banking of XP for lv50 players, I'd suggest capping it, so they can't get too big a jump. Maybe 2-3 levels worth.

So I first wanted to congratulate you on finally moving on a PVP aspect of the game. Long time coming. A few have already gone waiting for it but at least your working on it. Youve had a lot of hard work in just getting everything semi stabilized and instituting changes that have been in the pipe for some time (economy quest , etc) and you deserve some praise for ploughing through most of that (though some still have tickets to solve and some new issues are present , your definately gaining on the workload there). Good to see!
I do also want to encourage you to bring this new PvP aspect to greater hieghts. Instead of PvP instanced islands where its restricted to a few players' combat (not much , if any potential for guild envolvement due to restriction on number of participants) how about working on a PvP 'continent' (read BIG pvp area) where guilds could cooperatively or competitively compete?
I know there are problems with taking data from large amounts of players so how about having each player get an alotment of orders and an 'orders que' (so they know the game is set to take their inputs) .. each player could do say one thing for each 10 levels he has , or some such criteria for seting the amount of actions , and every unit of time (5 , 10 , 15 , 30 min or an hour depending on what your server can handle) these are carried out.
This gives you leave to create HUGE open ended combat systems where you could have fights for territory control occuring in a semi turn based environment. Combats dont need to resolve turn to turn - just subtract an amount of troops from each side depending on tactic and type of unit used , proximity to defenses or siege works could give bonuses/penalties , have untis moving to the combat area add to the forces of that side (allied or enemy) , combat and the scrum icon ending when one side there runs out of troops.
Thus the game takes on a fun aspect of strategy and you could include wall building , towers , ballista , catapults , ditch, moat , pitch , boiling oil siege towers etc. Membes reaching a certian level can coop to make a beach head on the PVP continent and carve out their own area , competing for resource that gets more plentiful at the center (where the most heated combat would occur when the established players met. You could limit aliances to 1 or 2 between guilds to keep competition up, adjust game mechanics , or even interfere where you saw alliances colluding unfairly via natural disasters or barbarians/bandits (read NPCs here) though that should be limited.
Anyhow you get the picture if you understand - you can make this more open ended and attractive , and lend a lasting feeling of being able to build something with lasting effect. The player with hard work can change the world to the effect of his effort in a way others are impacted by and can see (enemy and ally alike) which gives cooperative PvP aspects much of their attractiveness to potential players. In other words it makes your product more attractive to a wider range of CUSTOMERS INCREASING YOU REVENUE POTENTIAL (with the amps/boosts and buildings you can sell too of course).
Trust me , spin it this way to your bosses and you should be able to land yourself a new staff of coders if your management is worth its salt and capable of seeing opportunity here.

so when we gain control over the new island will that be protected as well or will we have to keep up with sacrafices of maybe losing it?
please do not allow "bully" only players of certain lvls can attack players islands of certain lvls. a lvl50 player shouldn't be able to take over the world and push lvl25 players out of the game.
So pvp sounds exciting. I suppose. Don't really care one way or the other. As for the very beginning someone said something about recyclers...there's a cap to how many a player can own and that cap is 3. Only 1 however could be bought with presents last Christmas. For those whining saying they don't want pvp, well you should have spoken up sooner probably because its already in the works and so many others have been crying out for pvp that you're SoL now and its comin regardless. The only thing I can say about "pvp will help others build islands faster" whining is you might be right but they'll also have to keep up troop build to withstand attacks from other players and as all games with a bought currency aka "gems", the victor will pretty much always be the one willing to spend the most cash. So keep your worries and your complaints coming, in the end the mighty dollar will win.
all these changes look great BUT FIX THE GAME FIRST before adding more stuff to it
noooo i didnt want it too come too pvp coz it takes alot off time too build resources for someone to come and take it i think i will quit when pvp comes
