Build Menu not available

When i go to build i am not given the build menu for the appropriate page. It "auto-selects" the first building on the page.

For example, if i want to build wheat II or well II I get no option to select ANY "advanced" building....it wants to build a hardwood sawmill...for intermediate buildings, again, i get no page offering a selection of intermediate buildings...it auto-selects copper mine

this happens on both servers i play on. Euro English and USA (Ares).
