no gems for lvling up??? FTP becomes PTP

so my question is, was this intentional, or is it a glitch? or have the players possibly received the gems and jus not noticed the number in the bar up top change?

if it is an intentional change, i have a question, and i have an argument in favor of reversing this change

my question is: WHY WAS A CHANGE THIS DRASTIC NOT POSTED IN THE CHANGE LOG??? yes this makes me angry, im gettin sick of undocumented changes in this game, it is extremely unprofessional and unfair to the players

my argument for reversing this change is as follows. this game has been running for over a year. during tht time, every player who has joined the game has received a certain # of gems at certain lvl ups. the main thing a 'free player' will use their gems for is building lisences. without using gems to purchase additional building lisences, a new player cannot hope to progress but so far in this game. No longer giving a player gems for lvling up will, essentially, change this game from a free to play game into a pay to play game, as a new player who receives no gems at higher lvlups will not be able to compete with a player who was here and lvling up at the beginning of this year

thank you LostSoul. I'm one of those people that was counting on getting gems for lvling. Now that i cant will probally quit this game being as i can not get licences :(

humm just saw this quest missing on my questbook...i want my 2500 gems to hit level 50

Those gems were a nice incentive to level. I am 70k from 50, and was looking forward to the 2,500 gems for hitting 50 to get several more explorers. I used the gems leveling up for more licenses and find this change to be very discouraging to players trying to grow their island. I guess it has definitely shifted to a pay to play model. You will need more licenses to build a functional island.

this is not fair at all for new players. pls dont take our rights that already given to us before. dont change, change for our benefit not game makers pls.

so the BB's have stated in global that gems will still be part of lvlup rewards, just the 'what lvl' and 'how many' have changed. meesher says shes working on a table for lvlup rewards, will wait on further condemnation till i see this table, and figure out how badly this might hinder players both new and mid lvl who have maybe missed out on higher gem rewards from earlier lvls. waiting...for now

You guys.. I just asked BB_Spamhain for the level reward table and he gave me this link. It's in German but if you use Chrome, it will translate for you. It's pretty self explanatory though... Good new is, you still get gems. In fact you get MORE now than you would have before. So rest easy! :)

You're welcome BB_meesherbeans. I would only like to know one thing... which is a question that keeps being ignored ( sad face ). Why would BB create new quests that reward level 50 players with nothing but copious amounts of XP? ... When you know we can't accumulate any more XP.

Please explain because it makes zero sense to me.

now if you all would visit tht site, and add up the total gems given for lvling both before the update and after, you'll find they dont match up. before the update the total gem payout for lvling all the way through to lvl50 was 5890 gems. now, after the update, the total gem payout for lvling all the way through to lvl50 is 5280 gems. so new players are still losing out on 610 gems, almost enough for another set of lisences.

furthermore, any players who were lvl30-lvl32 lose out on the 150 gems they wouldve gotten if they had reached lvl30 after the update. is anything gonna be done about those players not getting any gems they should've? please note that a player who got to lvl33 before the update would've gotten 170 gems, so all is good imo from lvl33 and on

look, im lvl44. if you look at the gems i've already gotten, and the increase in gem payout i'll now be getting for lvling, it becomes clear i am not raising these issues for myself. i genuinely do not want to see new players getting less merely because they found this game too late, and i also do not want to see mid-lvl players getting screwd by simply lvling at the wrong time. none of that is fair IMHO

Here's the thing. The info source of gem reward for each level was external and/or added by users until the most recent update. I don't think BB ever made a promise to give a certain amount of gems for the lifespan of your (my) playtime.

The "product" you're concerned about is gems. They have given gems for free in the past, they're now reducing the amount of gems they give freely. And that's that.

I agree as well... I'm level 39, and looking at this table I'm sure lucky I got to level 39 before this recent update.

At the present moment it isn't possible for me to pay for anything online as I have no way to obtain a method of payment at the moment.

So, just like LostSoul913 has stated most free players would spend those gems on building licences as that's what's of much greater importance than the other items in the shop.

It's been tough enough trying to be productive enough to have the resources to do adventures and such, and as a direct result I've been playing over a year and I am only level 39 because I've been taking my time. Though I should point out I could easily be further along if I spent more time trading. I'm just really patient.

However on behalf of newer and lower level players, it's gonna make it a lot tougher for them to get those licences now that there are almost no gem rewards for level 33-39 (aside for the 150 at level 35).

This doesn't matter to me either way because I'm already level 39, and although I certainly like the addition to the levels 40+ rewards, I feel the current setup will only serve to hinder the growth of the game.
