In the chill light of early dawn the settlers met, 'How are you all?' their leader, May Jorpest, asked. 'It was a hard few months, but the harvest is in, and our food supplies seem secure' came the reply 'but we need to discuss our plans for next year.' A murmur of agreement rumbled through the group. People began to call out, 'we need more settlers!', 'The children need a school!', 'What about those raiders?', 'when will my sons come home?', 'What is the army doing?', 'Why can't I get the supplies I need to expand?'.
'Hold on!' Said May, 'let's think this through. You all seem to be asking for different things - but I think it can be solved with just one resolution!'
'What?', 'How?' the crowd responded.
'Let's resolve to clear this island of all bandits!' May declared, 'That will bring in more settlers, allow us to mine more resources and free up you sons from regular army duties. It will take hard work and a lot of commitment but it is worth the effort to free our homeland!' she went on 'If we all work hard we will also soon be able to fund a school, and better taught children can only be an advantage to us! Are you with me?'
There was muttering at another year of hard work and fighting but the group soon saw the sense in May's suggestions - after all, it was her ability to see the heart of all the issues and find a single solution that had made them vote for her as Mayor before, and she worked as hard as any of them.
'Very well, we resolve to clear the island of all bandits within the coming year' said the spokesman for the settlers, 'Let us meet tonight on this, the last night of the old year, for a feast to seal our resolution!'
A cheer went up, after the last few months the people were ready for a party before they settled back to the work in hand.

Billy's Old and New Year
http://i1295.photobucket.com/albums/...ps854aac21.jpg As Billy set about preparing his sack lunch to take to work he began wondering about this past year and all the things that have happened to him
:eek:Images of dancing pumpkin heads and flesh-eating purple fogs filled his head as he set about traveling to the smelter where he worked:eek:
He quickly dismissed these thoughts and began wondering what goals he should set for the next year.
Then, he saw Esmeralda the baker walking up the other path.:o He began hurrying in order to catch her.
"Just once!" he thought, "I'd like to catch her eye, then perhaps i could start a proper settler's family."
But Alas! he was stopped by the local constable, yet again.
http://i1295.photobucket.com/albums/...psfc8a682d.jpg "You know the rules, everybody has their speed limits. No exceptions. Move on along. Orderly Like!"
Disappointed, of course, Billy moved on, forever unable to speak to his dream love. He thought about what he might be able to do about this unfortunate conundrum. "What could i possible to do to change our pathing options so that we might finally meet at last?"
Arriving at the smelter he set about to work; melting gold ore, separating and purifying it then molding it into bars. As he fed more coal into the furnace he remembered how grateful he was of St. Nick's gift of a new recycling plant up the way. The new source of coal for his foundry enabled him to double his production of gold bars and, of course, this pleased the almighty PLAYER.

The thought of st nick's smile and cheer helped him along through the rest of the day, and Billy happily retired home and straight to bed. Thoughts of beautiful Esmeralda, heaps of coal and gold filled his head.
http://i1295.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0d31e63f.jpg "Oh, if only i could be as rich as the mayor, surely i could catch her attention and win her heart. Then, we could move to the beach and build a castle of our own, and start our own settlement without all these silly rules:"
http://i1295.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3c3eab40.jpg
:cool:And restfully he fell asleep with ideas of the future swirling through his mind:
http://i1295.photobucket.com/albums/...ps041a2324.jpg A glimmer of an idea, just out of reach, toying with him while he slept.

December 28, of Gods year 2012.
King Dritzz75's Log:
As I lay here in my tent pondering the coming year my heart is filled with many hopes, dreams, fears, & tough choices for my Island & its inhabitants. I pray that my seemingly futile campaign to rid the Island of murderous, thieving bandits will be a success & that I may return home soon at the head of my glories troops. I tire of the cold winds & wet rains that plague us during the long battles. I have seen enough of the blood & mud, I long for happier times back on the Island. My council advises me that this war I make also wares on those left behind in the fields & workshops of the Island. The war depletes our resources greatly & taxes the settlers to no end. I have sent word to my council to build more recycling plants, silos, water mills, endless copper mines, perhaps even a few gem pits, & most certainly several friarys. I fear the new years celebration I have planned will greatly tax the brew I have produced thus far but it is a much needed celebration for my troops & my settlers. I have also dispatched letters to my greatest builders to begin work on construction of two new buildings, the designs of which came to me recently in a dream as I lay suffering from a spear wound in my shoulder. I believe they will work to increase marble production & gold production as 1 will use garbage to create a faux marble, & the other will be a coin smelter which will melt down old warn coins & then they can be repressed into new coins. a wayward waif came to me this night with promising tales of a cave full of rich gems near our camp. I know not if it truly exists, or if I can spare the men to search it out, but I fear if I do not it will haunt me all of my days. I have to hunt it down for even if it only holds 250 gems, or 1,000 gems, or dare I dream 10,000 gems I know without it this war & my beloved Island could Be lost & overrun by these heathen bandits & this I can not... NO, I will not allow! I must end this entry now as a new batch of recruits have just rode in to camp & I intend to throw them into the battle at dawns light we must win the day.

new years resolutions
Personally I dont believe in them, I imagine some of the settlers might be gay, i havent seen a female settler on my island yet. However I do believe some of them are hoping for females, maybe similar as in real life they think the harder they work or the more they produce then females may come. That doesnt work, ive learned that the hard way. The settlers have to learn in their own time and right now gay or straight they are happy working to produce as much as they can and improve towards their goal. Perhaps someday the straight ones who arnt happy with the way things are will realize if they want to win the lottery that they have to buy a ticket.

The wind was howling like a lonely wolf in full moon. In the cozy tavern, if you can call it cozy, two general sits facing each other. A glass of ale in their hand and their exspression sombre. This is their first winter in the settler town, it wasnt so bad just that are pretty much overwork. General Peatton and general Mac Arthur sip on their ale when suddenly the tavern's door slammed open. Soaking wet general Rommel walk in.
"The witch is dead, but we lost to many of our recruts," his voice booming in the silent tavern. General Peatton slammed his glass on the tabble.
"enough is enough!" he said"this year we need vateran general"
"Aye to that," seconded general Mac Arthur.
"I was thinking about hiring general Sitting Bull."
All agree, this year resolution would be to hire vateran general Sitting Bull. Make their army stong to fight in all adventure...

My new years resolution is to NOT buy anymore gems until such time as you produce NEW quests, adventures, lvl’s and PVP as promised.

What a Christmas holiday for the Settlers! All the wrappings and trimmings. Now they are about to meet. All the settlers of the village at the Mayor's Mansion. "What is going on? And why have we ALL been summoned?" they wondered. "Could it be that we will finally get some resolution?!" Oh the excitement!!! For a village full of settlers LOVES to know what is going to happen so that they can prepare. What a wonderful after Christmas gift!
The Mayor comes in to join the throng. A hush falls over the crowded room as the Mayor gets everyone's attention, "As you all know this year has been the start of wonderful things. But THIS year is going to be bigger and better. Not only are we going to upgrade all our buildings to their max potential, but we are going to reach 1,000 citizens! (cheering breaks out!) "Also, we are going to take over our island from the bandits AND establish ourselves as a people that won't be messed with!" The settlers go crazy! Once the Mayor gets control of the crowd again he says "everyone take a seat and let's feast and drink to our new resolve!"
In every settlers heart there is a new feeling of pride, hope, peace, and the want to accomplish all that has been put before them. They know difficult times may come, but with all of them working together there is a chance of achieving the impossible.
