Balancing productions

How would you suggest that I go about balancing out production chains that are totally out of balance. I've got the production ratio guide bookmarked so I can open that in a second tab. Should I shut everything down and then start restarting them in a balanced ratio? Some things are maxed out, others can't keep up to save my soul! I'm half afraid to start an adventure without things being more in balance. I'm on Ares.

If you are just worried about being balanced, then yes shutting things down and restarting to get balanced is a great option, especially if you arent worried about building licenses. If you are out a few ( say -2 etc) on something, moving that building to a more optimal position around a storehouse with fix it right up. However, be warned that it may throw other things out of balance, if -1 puts you in the red :)
